Both story deal with marriages that have taken a turn for one reason or another. In both the FL is experiencing health issues and the ML helps during this time.
The cast for the ML and FL in both dramas is the same, and both dramas deal with family dynamics. The plot for the shows couldn't be more different, so this recommendation is more or less for those who want to see more of the on screen chemistry between the actors.
-both are slice of life K-dramas that take place at a University
-there is a rich heir in both dramas
-both have themes of financial struggles
-both have instances of bullying
-both dramas have themes of friendship & betrayal
-Kwon Eun bi & Woo Da Vi act in both dramas
-both dramas feature idols as the ML

While Live On takes place in high school and Dear .M takes place in a university, there are a few similarities. The ‘vibe’ for both of the K-dramas is similar, and both shows can be described as ‘short’ with the number of episodes being less than 16 for both dramas. Both are ‘idol dramas’ that feature idol(s) as main lead(s). There is also a bit of mystery in both, along with friendships, and betrayal. I thoroughly enjoyed both dramas since both dramas did not have any moments that I could deem as “skip-worthy”. Every moment of both dramas was a solid watch, the cinematography, the characters, and the OSTs made the dramas all the more enjoyable.
As soon as I watched the second episode of tracer, I sensed the similarities
Both male leads have unique jobs, in tracer it’s the tax service and in Vincenzo it’s as a mafia consigliere
In both dramas the male leads are committing just acts in order to achieve their ultimate goal of revenge, and in both this is carried out of carefully and strategically.
They are both refreshing with dark undertones (in my book at least), and I honestly believe that if you like one, you’ll like the other.

Both dramas have strong female leads that are a bit more on the rebellious side, whereas the male leads were a bit more rigid when it came to the rules & formalities. Both stories have the perfect balance of comedy, mystery, and romance. Both kdramas are period dramas set in the joseon dynasty, however moonshine focuses on events surrounding alcohol prohibition and rookie historian took a more wholistic approach regarding different topics. I highly recommend both shows, and if you're on the fence about either of these shows, just know they'll make you feel an array of the emotions because every aspect of the shows were beautiful.
