The movie caught my attention from the first seconds...
It showed different couples, every time the guy was a foreigner (not a Japanese) and they were telling about the fun part of their lives...What wrong things do the foreigners do, which Japanese people find funny...
Inoe Maou, was brilliant as always...I love her English, and she tried to talk it quite a lot here :P
The guy, Toni, was chosen, very...how would I say...he was very eye catching, not the handsome guy you'd expect...but at the same time, sometimes so cute and lovable all the time.
The main idea of the movie (and I think of the manga too), that everyone is different, it doesn't matter are you Japanese or French, or American...Everybody's unique...and maybe our cultures are different, we're all people and get along, love, even marry :)
Overall...I loved the movie.
It's worth watching!

The acting was absolutely superb in every sense of the word. I was completely and undeniably convinced they were who they said they were, and it's safe to say that it's rare for me to feel that way.
My only complaint is that I could've lived without the more inappropriate scenes...I felt they carried on for far too long when other more important things could've been happening.
Overall, this is definitely a movie worth seeing.

The ONLY aspect of this movie I liked is Lee Jun Ki and his acting as the male lead 'Kim Min'. He did some good acting there as a Korean guy isolated in Japan, coping with the language barrier. But I didn't like Aoi Miyazaki as the female lead 'Sasaki Nanae'. She looked like a kid there, and she and Lee Jun Ki didn't look much good together. I won't say her acting was anything great either. She pulled it off somehow.
I don't remember the music though I watched it just today afternoon. I think the soundtracks were just fine and suited with the scenes in which they were played. Nothing special or worth listening to by downloading the OST. At least I won't.
If you are looking for a TYPICAL love story, you may watch this movie. But if you are looking for something unique, I don't think you'll enjoy it much.

Um Homem que se dizia ser o Super-Homem

There aren't too many movies like this. It has a good message that should come across to everyone. Maybe the world would really be a better place then. This movie's message isn't that everyone should be real-life Superman or next Mother Teresa. However, it does remind us that the little things and decisions we make ARE important. If some little thing you do makes at least one person happier, isn't it good enough? Everyone does have that little piece of kryptonite in their brains that makes us blind and indifferent towards other people. "We can't save everyone so why should we even try?" That is a thought that so easily creeps into our heads when we are overwhelmed by all the bad things happening in this world. This movie challenges that thought and I'm happy it does so.
I give best scores to this movie and I think it deserves good ratings even if it's viewed from a more objective standpoint. However, I'll let that to someone else. As for the rewatch value: I think everyone should watch this movie at least once a year since we forget the things we learn so easily. Oh, and I'm also an official fan of Hwang Jeong Min now. Such great acting.
After watching this movie, I'll wake up tomorrow with many good intentions. I know they won't last long but if I tomorrow pick up one trash from the ground or try to make someone else happy then I think this movie has made the world already a better place. Thank you, Superman!

The movie opens up with this declaration, uttered in background narration by the main character while he's scorned and targeted by a players-filled basketball court. And it isn't only the rival team watching him with contempt: his own teammates are shouting the loudest.
"This is my love story", repeats Sugihara while he escapes from the police or is beaten by his father.
The contrast between the narration and the scene shown on screen gives us the key to the reading of the whole film, which is about finding ones place between love and hate, belonging and distancing, caring and detachment.
It's the story of a young man who has to show the world he doesn't give a dime while inside he's yearning for a sense of belonging.
GO is a wonderfully dramatic movie, one that deals with a cruel reality of discrimination. It's the journey of a guy who struggles to find his place on the planet. But don't be fooled by the surface: the director highlights the Japanese prejudices and the Korean stubborn obtuseness in equal measure. To each their own share.
And in the middle of this, there's Sugihara, who looks like a Japanese, talks like a Japanese, was born in Japan and is not recognized as one. His part is superbly acted: Yosuke Kubozuka is so convincing one can't help falling for him despite his murderous glances and his rebellious spirit.
So how is this a love story?
It is such on multiple levels: there's love for the friends, love for a father shown with fists, love for a country - or 2 - and love for a girl.
The music fits the pace beautifully, never overpowering the scenes.
Overall an emotion-filled movie, superb in acting, direction, plot and photography.
To be avoided if you're looking for a light watch. A must if you like thought-provoking films.
