Hello!
My name is Abby. I'm Mexican-American, raised in Mexico but living in the USA for half my life now. I speak English and Spanish. I have been watching dramas since late 2010, so 2020 marks 10 years of my Asian drama journey. I watch mostly Korean and Japanese dramas, but sometimes I watch Taiwanese and Chinese dramas and I've watched some Thai as well. I also enjoy Asian films, especially the Japanese ones.
- My first drama was "Tree of Heaven" with Park Shin Hye and Lee Wan back in September 2010... I watched it on youtube in parts... but I've got to say watching dramas in YT is not enjoyable lol. Then I watched "Love Contract" with Mike He and Ariel Lin, my first TW drama.
- I think my first Japanese drama was "Ichi rittoru no namida"... I cried and cried....still one of my all time favorites. Let me forever love Aya-chan and Asou-kun ♥
- But as much as I liked those dramas, I wasn't completely swallowed into drama land... but "Boys Before Flowers" did the trick. F4 stole my heart (Though later I grew up and well, I realized F4 are mostly a bunch of jerks lol)
Besides Asian dramas, I'm also into music. I got into K-pop at the same time I started watching dramas, so it's all interconnected. I watched some dramas for the idols I liked back then and started listening to some artists based on the OSTs of the dramas I watched. At the beginning, I was into K-pop as a whole, but the first artist I became a fan of was Kim Jaejoong. My first love hahaha. After him, in 2011 I became a fan of Super Junior, my first fandom and still my longest one. In 2013 I met Japanese group Arashi, and they stole my heart away. I would say Arashi is my main fandom now, they take the #1 spot. To wrap up my fandom life, in 2016 I came across this music video that captivated me and pulled me into my latest fandom, the sea of green, NCT. I'm a fan of all the units and they are my babies (solely because I'm older than all of them).
I can't say I'm into K-pop as a whole now, I mainly focus on my favorite groups and that's about it.
So besides work, personal time, drama watching and fandoms, I would say life is pretty busy. Sometimes it feels like there's not enough time to watch dramas, so why do I keep on watching? Because they are my source of comfort. Watching dramas is a relaxing experience. I deeply enjoy it.
Feel free to talk to me. I'm nice, I promise :)
