Simple and Fun Show
**Brief Synopsis**
B (Editor): Jeong Ha Yeon
T (Writer): Yeon Seok
Beginning: B is an editor and T is a writer under him. This isn’t their first life together. B is the reincarnation of T’s lover in a past life. T has been searching for him for a long time and has only found him. At first, he is disturbed that his lover has been reincarnated as a man, and acts extremely cold and rude to B because he is confused as to what to feel. B, on the other hand, was instantly attracted to T and even applied for a job as an editor to work with him. Thus, he is saddened by T’s attitude. Just as he thought he had made a mistake and runs away, T realizes he doesn’t want to go through life without him, catches up to him and confesses. B agrees to his confession.
Middle: They spend time together as a couple and is happy for some time. They might not be super intimate but it is obvious from witnessing their interactions that they really care about each other.
End: Before they could have their happy ending, B accidentally saw the picture T keeps of his past lover and realizes that he was only the reincarnation of her, which was why T had confess he loved him. He confronts him and asks him if he really likes him right now or simply likes the girl in the picture and he is a replacement. T, not having had time to think about the details, is unable to answer and B, saddened by his lack of response, breaks up with him and runs away. T tries to find him but to no avail. And when he does find where he is, he runs in to B’s friend who tells him that B has agreed to go to the States with him. Shocked by this news, he leaves before seeing B. For 1 month, he remains in a state of sorrow until he hears the news that B is going to leave that night. Knowing he can no longer wait, he catches up to B before he leaves and begs him to stay. The series ends after he confesses he likes B as a person and not replacement for anyone. They reconcile and happy ever after.
**My Opinion**
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT
- I like the concept of reincarnation and past life. I like this show’s premise and in general, I think they delivered on what they had planned to deliver.
- The actors playing B and T are really good looking and look great together. They also have great chemistry and they do were depicting sadness and confusion. When ever I see B cry, it really breaks my heart. He really cries beautifully.
- The angst is introduced in a novel way. Sure they plot is predictable and from the moment we see the picture, we know what role it will serve, but for once, it’s not angst because of misunderstanding or lack of communication. It’s because both characters did not truly understand what they were feeling.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT
- The plot is predictable and without memorable moments. It’s full of cliche BL tropes. If it hadn’t been for the rather novel concept, this should would have been rather boring.
- Some plot points doesn’t make sense. Why did T leave before seeing B after hearing he was leaving for the US? Why doesn’t he make an effort to find him before his departure date? He catches up with B just before he enters the car. Any later he would have missed him.
- The acting might feel a little unnatural in certain scenes but that’s mostly for the ensemble cast. The main leads do a great job at displaying the character’s emotions, which is crucial in a show like this.
**Conclusion**
An okay watch that won’t be revisited.
