I'm a longtime American  (and a little British) TV Geek, but I was turned onto K-Drama by Black on Netflix in 2017 -- it FLOORED me. K-Drama contains the kinds of storytelling elements that Western TV and movies don't provide much anymore. Action, suspense, heart-wringing emotion, supernatural elements (my favorite), and] most of all, EPIC ROMANCE. Oh, and I forgot to mention HEA: Happily Ever After, or at least HFN: Happy For Now. It seems that most Americans find Happy Endings trite and unrealistic these days, so you don't see many of them. But K-Drama is unafraid to make me weep and clutch my heart in Romantic Joy! They make me laugh, cry, and think in ways nothing in Western media really does. The romance is ROMANTIC, the horror SCARY, and historically, Korea just has much more interesting hats.

In 2023, I've developed a weird habit/addiction/obsession: wuxia/xanxia. That's right: bad wigs, ancient Chinese sneaker, and plots that sometimes sound as over the top as classic Bollywood. I tried to explain the one I'm watching right now, and it's like, "God of War, evil, maybe evil, FL IS TSTL: TOO STUPID TO LIVE. How she didn't walk under a wagon or odd  cliff is beyond me. Oh, yeah, thatz the guy she's in love with, but she grew up without emotions, so she doesn't understand anything that's going on MUCH LIKE MYSELF.  Long story short, he has died either for her or directly by her hand in NINE lifetimes.  Purple Fox, merman, cute little pocket piggy.. sometimes its fun, and sometimes I want to throw the TV out the window.

Warning: I will give everything and anything BTS does on TV or the big screen a 10, because they are adorable, funny, talented, so warm and genuine, and they're some of my favorite people on the planet!
