Seo Yea Ji Signs with a New Agency

Actress Seo Yea Ji has signed up with a new agency, Sublime, which also houses Song Kang Ho, Lee Hye Ri, and Tiffany Young, among others.   

On June 25, Sublime stated, "We are pleased to announce that we have signed an exclusive contract with actress Seo Yea Ji." They added, "We plan to provide full support and [make] efforts to create new synergy with actress Seo Yea Ji, who has a passion for acting and various charms."

Seo Yea Ji made her debut with the 2013 tvN drama Potato Star 2013QR3 and has since appeared in multiple famous works including Hwarang and Lawless Lawyer. But she shot to fame after starring in the popular tvN drama It's Okay to Not Be Okay, alongside Queen of Tears star Kim Soo Hyun. 

However, starting in April 2021, the actress became embroiled in numerous controversies. She was alleged to be gaslighting her ex-boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun (Mr. Queen, Crash Landing on You, School 2017). While Seo Yea Ji's then agency admitted to the couple's past relationship, they denied the allegations of her gaslighting Kim Jung Hyun. Additionally, allegations of school violence, falsification of academic records, and staff mistreatment started to surface, which led her to withdraw from the K-drama Island. 

After a year since the controversy, Seo Yea Ji returned to the small screen with the 2022 tvN drama Eve. Her exclusive contract with her former agency, Gold Medalist, expired on November 30 last year.
