The first teaser of My Lovely Boxer, Kwon Sook is unveiled.
KBS2's upcoming drama, My Lovely Boxer, Kwon Sook is based on the novel "Sunjeongbokseo Ikwonsuk" by Choo Jong Nam, which won second prize at the Kyobo Book Centre Story Contest. The story revolves around the legendary boxer Lee Kwon Sook (Kim So Hye) and a cold-blooded sports agent, Kim Tae Young (Lee Sang Yeob).
Kim So Hye plays the character of Lee Kwon Sook, who earned the title of boxing star at the age of 17. But she disappeared before a championship title match, got a new identity as a kindergarten teacher, and now crosses paths with Kim Tae Young.
The first teaser video, presented in a documentary format, was released by KBS.
The teaser features renowned Korean boxers, including legends such as Park Jong Pal, Yoo Myung Woo, and Jang Jung Gu, along with prominent female boxer Shin Bo Mi Re, all sharing their awe and admiration for Lee Kwon Sook's unparalleled talent.
Park Jong Pal and Yoo Myung Woo acclaim Lee Kwon Sook as an exceptional athlete, questioning whether Korea will ever get another player of her caliber.
Whereas, Jang Jung Gu confidently asserts, "We know firsthand because we've been in the ring—there won't be anyone like her". Shin Bo Mi Re expresses her curiosity, saying, "I don't know why a fighter like that left the ring".
The production team expressed their gratitude to Park Jong Pal, Yoo Myung Woo, Jang Jung Gu, and Shin Bo Mi Re who agreed to make appearances in My Lovely Boxer, Kwon Sook. They said, "We ask for your anticipation and interest in whether the genius boxer Lee Kwon Sook, whom even the champions want to see again, can return to the ring and the reason why she quit boxing".
My Lovely Boxer, Kwon Sook is scheduled to premiere on August 21. Watch the teaser below.
