Upcoming tvN K-drama Queen of Tears will move its premiere date to 2024.
According to Star News on the 13th, tvN's new drama Queen of Tears (written by Park Ji Eun, directed by Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won) will not be broadcasted in the second half of this year.
Queen of Tears was initially planned to be aired in the second half of this year. In an official announcement in February, tvN included the drama in their 2023 drama lineup for the year's second half. In April, Star News reported that Queen of Tears was scheduled to be a Saturday-Sunday drama in December, following the conclusion of Diva of the Deserted Island.
There have been changes in the scheduling of tvN's Saturday-Sunday dramas since then. The second half of this year's tvN Saturday-Sunday drama lineup includes The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch starting on July 29th, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon in September, Diva of the Deserted Island in October, and Maestra in December.
It has been confirmed that Maestra, starring Lee Young Ae, will be aired as a tvN Saturday-Sunday drama in December. As a result, the scheduling for Queen of Tears has been moved to next year (2024), and the specific scheduling period is currently under discussion.
As a result, viewers eagerly anticipating Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won's Queen of Tears will have to wait until next year for its premiere. The highly anticipated drama of the second half 2023 has been rescheduled as a 2024 production.
