Veteran actor Choi Min Sik has been offered to be the main lead in the upcoming Korean remake of the hit film The Intern.

On June 18, media outlets reported that South Korea would remake the 2015 Hollywood film The Intern starring top actors Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. According to reports, actor Choi Min Sik will lead the Korean version and he will portray the role of Ben that Robert De Niro also played in the original film.

The Intern tells the story of a young CEO named Jules who started a business and became successful after only 1 year and 6 months. She then hires a 70-year-old intern named Ben who has a lot of work and life experience.

Reports stated that the production company Anthology Studio is currently in the movie's preparation stages and they aim to begin filming in October. It was also revealed that the film was initially planned to be produced in 2020, but the production failed due to copyright issues.

With this, Anthology Studio responded to the circulating reports. They shared, "It is still in the discussion stage. Nothing has been decided yet."

Meanwhile, Choi Min Sik's side hasn't responded to the casting news.
