Yoondahyeon's Top 5 Multi-Talented Actors

To begin with, this is just my opinion and NOT the actual list of multi-talented actors. I have included only actors whom I know, so if I have left out any multi-talented actor do let me know.  It would be fair only if I choose actors with a steady acting career; hence idols will not be featured on this list.

5. Ji Hyun Woo

I saw Ji Hyun Woo, the actor, in Queen Inhyun’s Man. He has also played the lead role in dramas like A Thousand Kisses (2011), The Birth of the Rich (2010), Invincible Lee Pyung Kang(2009), and many more. I later found out that he is a member of the Korean indie rock band The Nuts. The band is still active though Hyun Woo is not a part of it. He has 5 Albums to his name as a member of The Nuts and has also contributed to the OST of his dramas like Merry Mary, My Sweet Soul, and Old Miss Diary. He also released a self-composed single album titled Crescendo in 2011. That’s it about Ji Hyun Woo the musician. He has also been the MC of Invincible Youth 2 and Music Bank (2005) and also a radio DJ. If you consider kissing a talent, he is the most talented.




4. Joo Won

Who knew Gaksital could sing? I didn’t. I was surprised when I found a video of him singing “Those Magic changes” for the Musical Grease. In one word: he was AWESOME. Later, I found that, even before acting in dramas, he was a musical actor which explains why he is so talented. He has also contributed to the OST of his dramas like Baker King, Kim Tak Goo (2010), Gaksital (2012) and 7th Grade Civil Servant (2013). He is also part of the variety show 1 Night 2 Days. I wish he would sing more.




3. Jang Geun Suk

He has the looks, he can act, and he can sing. What more do you need from a guy? He has had a long acting career starting from 2001, and he has starred in dramas like Beethoven Virus, Hong Gil Dong (2008), You Are Beautiful (2009), Mary Stayed Out All Night (2010) and Love Rain (2012). He has contributed to the OST of most of his dramas and is also successful as a singer in Japan having released 2 albums. I personally love his voice and wish he would debut as a singer in Korea. We can say that he has writing talent too because during Mary Stayed Out All Night there were rumors that he changed the script of the last few episodes. If that is true, we have writer Jang Geun Suk too!!  (Though I am not sure whether he makes a good writer).




2. Micky Yoochun

I know Yoochun is an idol singer, and many of you might ask me how he is in this list. But as I said I chose those with a steady acting career and you’ve got to agree this guy has it. He has a handful of successful and popular dramas such as Missing You (2013), Rooftop Prince (2012), Miss Ripley (2011), Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010), and a few more. As a singer, he needs no introduction. He was a member of one of the most popular K-pop groups DBSK/TVXQ, and now he’s a member of JYJ. I am not a big DBSK/JYJ fan, but I was totally blown over by the songs “In Heaven” by JYJ and “Doushite” by DBSK. This guy is surely an amazing singer. He has also written a few songs for both DBSK and JYJ.




1. Lee Seung Gi

A singer, actor and MC; Lee Seung Gi has been successful in all the 3 categories. He debuted as a singer with the song “Because You Are my Girl” way back in 2004 which was an instant hit. Almost all his songs are popular, and he has a long list of awards: Newcomer award, excellence award, solo artist award, popularity award, drama artist award, (PHEW) and so on and on. His duet song “Smile Boy” with figure-skater Kim Yuna became the official 2010 FIFA World Cup commercial song in South Korea. His first drama as a lead is Shining Inheritance (2009). Followed by which he has had successful dramas like My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (2010), King2Hearts (2012) and the currently airing Gu Family Book (2013). He was also a part of the 1st season of the variety show 1 night 2 Days and the MC of the popular talk show Strong Heart (2009-2012). There are many artists who have been in all the 3 categories (singing, acting, and MC), but Lee Seung GI is the one who excelled in it.

Cha Tae Hyun: Though he has a successful acting career, there is nothing much for his singing career. Nevertheless, he is still talented.


Hyun Bin: Another great actor, but he has just one song to his name, "That Man" from Secret Garden. Still, this one song was enough to make me a fan of Hyun Bin-the singer.
