What even happened?

There was zero conflict/story in this drama. What was even the point? Nothing happened.

I didn’t realize it was only 8 episodes, so I was waiting to see what happens with the lawsuit, if his mom eventually accepted their relationship, what would happen with her ex etc. But then it finishes and nothing even happened. This is the first time in left wondering what the point even was of watching this. The main lead’s romance wasn’t even as interesting as her friends. I was more invested in the teacher/coach romance. Even song Pil was more interesting. I wanted to learn more about him. I was hoping he’d find a love interest too or success in his restaurant but they didn’t even develop/explore his character.

I hated Love Alarm and haven’t watched anything of hers since, can’t say I want to watch anything else she comes out in in the future. It was fairly enjoyable to watch but it didn’t develop into anything so I felt like I wasted my time.

Serie semplice, ma anche tiepida e un po' inconsistente

Drama senza pretese, una trama senza grandi tragedie o ostacoli insormontabili. Tutto si concentra sulle relazioni, sentimenti nascosti e fraintendimenti. Non per questo ne deve derivare una serie non apprezzabile, sia chiaro. Il vero difetto non è tanto la trama semplice, ma il modo "tiepido" in cui viene portata in scena. Tiepido è davvero l'aggettivo che descrive interamente questo drama, una sceneggiatura debole, una recitazione che non arriva al cuore: meglio comunque lei - carismatica e solare - rispetto a lui, perchè al di là dei momenti freddi/distaccati che caratterizzano il personaggio interpretato, anche nelle scene in cui dovevano trasparire delle emozioni l'espressività è rimasta la stessa, nemmeno fredda o gelida...direi proprio non pervenuta, come avvolta in uno spesso nastro isolante. La chimica tra i due ovviamente non poteva fare scintille, di conseguenza. Unico personaggio davvero meritevole, lo zio del protagonista.
Ripeto, serie senza pretese che poteva essere una visione davvero piacevole ma che si è rivelata non dico una perdita di tempo, ma sicuramente l'impressione è stata quella di aver dedicato una manicata di ore - fortunatamente c'è stato almeno il buonsenso di non andare oltre gli 8 episodi - a qualcosa di davvero inconsistente.

Sweetness

While the initial conversation between FL and ML showed her fear of opening up to another relationship, it also showed both of them to being vulnerable and wanting more than just friendship.

There’s the whole denial of my feelings because my bff likes you, a couple of episodes later that momentary angst disappears, and the romance begins.

It was refreshing to see the ML stand up to parental disapproval and the FL to not bow down to possible MIL’s attempt to force a breakup.

The ML/FL were so sweet together and showed a lot of chemistry throughout. Even though the 2nd FL was initially annoying to me, she mellowed out when she dropped her high school obsession and found someone whom she really loved.

This was a truly enjoyable drama and it’s definitely worth another watch.

A nice throwback to old-school beautiful romance

I do not watch many ongoing shows and this one reminded me why once again. It was such a pain to wait one whole week for new episodes, thank god it's a short series. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this show and I'm sad that it's ending so soon.

First things first, as I said in a comment earlier, I'm actually someone who does not enjoy romance dramas a lot. I need a little more to the story in terms of mystery/suspense/business/friendship or just anything that would not make it just plain old romance. But these days, the South Korean entertainment scene has changed so much that there aren't really many plain old good romance dramas that this feels like such a fresh breath of air and it did not let me down in terms of the story, characters, acting or the music as well.

What I love about this show is that it broke all those usual tropes and I'm all for it. No toxic female friendship considering they share a love interest. I actually love this fresh take on the friendship between the women where they are so so supportive, so amazing. And not just them, but friendship in general. They have portrayed such a beautiful and supportive friendship between the three of them (even five, in a way) and it has been so pleasant to watch. The second trope they break is communication. The characters communicate with one another. Whether it be between parents, or between friends or lovers, they talk to each other. Sure, they might take some time, but they communicate without fear of the response. So happy to see so many healthy relationships in this drama. Third, until now, although the ML's mother does not support their relationship (for maybe selfish reasons), you do not see her causing harm to the FL. So, she does not come across as an evil villain. Fourth, the perfect balance between flashbacks and reality. They do not delve into the flashbacks so much that it becomes boring. One of the rare shows where I did not fast forward even once.

I quite like how they have a coherent story without loose ends and I'm really enjoying the great acting by this bunch of people. It's my first time seeing some of them and it's been very nice. I really like the cute chemistry between both the couples on the show. I also enjoy some comic moments a lot, it does not have unnecessary angst or melodrama - something I was expecting going into it tbh. Maybe that has something to do with the limited episode format.

I'm at crossroads with whether I like the length of the show or not. While it is perfect in the sense that had they increased the episode count, it might have lost some of its positives and maybe indulged in tropes, but I enjoyed their story so much that I just can't help wanting more.

It's a very happy, interesting and beautiful watch. Quite easygoing as well. Would definitely recommend this to my friends! :)

Captivating Performances and Dynamic Storytelling: A Must-Watch Drama! It just needs more hype now.

This drama is exactly the kind of series I love to watch. The storyline is incredibly dynamic and immensely enjoyable. The first two episodes had me eagerly anticipating the rest of the series. The narrative is gripping, keeping you hooked from start to finish, and the characters are truly delightful. The relationships in this drama are particularly compelling; while you might not completely agree with every aspect, you'll definitely understand where I'm coming from once you watch it.

Kim So Hyun's acting is absolutely captivating. She brings her character to life with a wide range of expressions, making her performance incredibly fun to watch. Chae Jong Hyeop is also impressive, though his acting may not be as dynamic, he still delivers a solid performance. His character is fascinating, and you'll find yourself wanting to learn more about him as the drama unfolds.

I think that we are smoldering another big summer hit drama with Serendipity’s Embrace. I love the title.

Serendipity’s Embrace stars Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim So Hyun. I adore this pairing of actors. They look so natural together. I don’t catch these two acting. I feel like I am peeking in on someone else’s real life. There is strong chemistry between Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim So Hyun. Serendipity’s Embrace is absolutely a fun romantic ride.

The story

ML Kang Hu-Young is a “by the books and don’t paint outside the lines” kind of guy. FL Lee Hong-Ju feels free to express her emotions and feelings. They meet in high school, as serendipity brings them together. However, life gets in the way, as Kang Hu-Young moves to the States and becomes a very successful businessman. After 10 years, Kang Hu-Young is still the stoic man who needs to be trained how to love and Lee Hong-Ju is existing a failed relationship. One big huge point of this story is whether your recollection of the past is really to true story?
