a decent serie
this is not bad but also not great, what doesnt help is that most people have high expectation because of season 1 so ngl season 1 captivated me since the first ep, while for this one it took me time but it is not unwatchableif i have to pick best and worse eps it will be like this
not good eps : ep 1-2-7
the rest are good eps
the reason for ep 1 and 2 because the scenes were dragging too much with no games at all , the reason for the final ep (ep 7) is the main character, he is really not good at making plans for sure, acting herotic and get lucky to survive all time okay lol
the rest of eps: i enjoyed watching the games , there is one game that i liked the most, when they have to team up as its indicated to survive, i loved the new characters : Min Su is a cutie i better see him in season 3, they kinda did the cop (Jun Ho) dirty because that man is so fine the role in this season didnt give him justice lol, Thanos character is fun i know some people say he is overacting but he is supposed to be like that i mean look at the pills he takes it make sense to me lol, i also liked Myeong Gi and Hyeon Ju characters
compared to season 1 this is a bit less gory and we dont lose a lot of main characters
now, looking forward to season 3 ^^

Dumb and Boring
What a letdown. After a successful Season 1, this was a mess with it's unintelligent, run of the mill, with no concrete story line and just flying by the seat of their pants. My biggest problem was our hero Seong Gi Hun, who realized that the money he won was blood money. He wanted revenge against the rich who exploited the plight and desperation of the poor and used them as blood sport for their own amusement.Ge Hun had tons of money at his disposal but he's dumb. Couldn't he come up with a better plan than hiring a few thugs to look for his enemy? After all, he was up against a group of very wealthy individuals with so much power and influence, who hid behind their veneer of respectability. a cruel thirst for blood lust, regarding the poor like cockroaches they can stamp on for entertainment.
If I were him, I would have hired experts to identify each and everyone involved, their family, their concubines, every little detail of their lives and then, coerce them and their loved ones into participating as contestants in the squid game. That will be the ultimate revenge.
This 2nd season gave me the impression that it came from the imagination of an amateur who just copied and pasted parts of season 1 and called it season 2.

it's not only as disappointed as other ppl say!!
I binged watch it in one day, do i regret it? No wayy (SPOILER ALERT)Like most people here (i guess) i liked the season 1 more and i honestly understand those who didn't enjoy the 2nd one BUT i still should talk about the positive aspects/points of this second season because not everything was bad and there were still a lot of positives things to say about this new season :
- THE CAST?? dude look at the actors we got here, it is INSANE like??
- the mother and her son : THEY WERE THE CUTEST i loved them sm and the way they wanted to protect each other all the time, their interactions.. i was so scared that one of them was gonna die
- the mother (again lol i loved her sm) : SHE CARED FOR EVERYONE she was so cute especially with jun hee (izone ykyk) and hyun ju hopefully she'll stay alive..
- the purple hair guy when he was taking his drugs LMAOO?? he was in his own world.. look at him during the carousel game he was so funny with his bud
- the overhaul games : i think it is so cool that they kept the red light, green light one AND THAT they changed the other ones
--> the 6th legs game was so fun, everyone was cheering each other and we got numerous small games instead of one and i really enjoyed it (when they arrived at the end and everyone was screaming and cheering i was SO HAPPYYY)
--> the carousel game (dont remember the name) : it was stressing me out?? i was so scared for them help BUT I LOVE THIS KIND OF SENSATION (like in season 1)
- it might be bc i love both of them but i wanna know more about myeong gi and jun hee bc they were kinda cute (despite their small screentime) like the way he cared for her at the beginning and the way SHE cared for him at the end.. nah they're cute
- the game master playing 001?? i loved it and i loved how he was acting like a real player + the kind of plot twist at the end.. idk what to expect for the next episodes but i love when not everything doesn't go as planned)
- the characters : even tho i didn't have enough time to get attached to the characters (yk bc of the fact that the game started later than in the season 1 + there were only 7 episodes + the plot was different than in the first season) there are still some of them that i loved and i hope we'll get to see them more in the "3rd" season
- WE GOT THE POV OF THE MASKED PPL?? AND THE ONE PLAYING IT IS MY GIRL GYU YOUNG?? omgggg they gave us what we asked forr 🙏
there are still lots of good things to say about this season but i dont want it to be too long
don't forget that everyone should have their own opinions, don't get influenced bu what other ppl say 💗🫶 u can either like or not, it is YOUR choice, YOUR opinion see yall for season 3 yay

Enjoyble second season
This was an enjoyable second season. The pacing was good but slower in episodes. 2 -3).Many people are saying this was a filler season, but I disagree. This was a build-up season, and for me, it worked well. I want to watch season 3.
The story will continue to season 3, I hope we can get more from the new characters. The one point I disliked was how badly the rebellion was planned, I wish we could have seen more before the end of the season.
The new cast did well overall - I liked Park Sung Hoon's performance the most, Yuri, Siwan and the mother did amazing too.
I didn't enjoy T.O.P performance too much, sometimes it was too over the top.
The music did work well was season one, some of the choices did generate the right vibe.
I will probably watch one more time since I binge-watched it. I want to catch more details.

Talented Actors.. Ample Budget.. All the Time in the World.. Yet a Below Par Unfinished Sequel..
When you create a banger of a first season the audience expects the next one to be equally good if not better.. Unfortunately Squid Game Season 2 completely fails to meet those expectations.. I spent seven hours watching it.. Only for it to end on a cliffhanger.. Now I have to wait several more months just to get a conclusion?? What a waste of time..Honestly all the emotions, the quality of the games and the sheer thrill that made the first part unforgettable were completely missing in season 2.. Why couldn’t they just release everything in this one season?? This money grabbing trend is getting worse.. While I agree that some dramas need to be split into multiple parts to make sense.. Squid Game Season 2 doesnt fall into that category..
Psychopath Gong Yoo was an absolute sight to watch.. If I am not wrong this is his first time playing a psycho and he absolutely nailed it.. His character was fascinating.. I mean this guy when he wasnt recruiting people for a kill or die game in the most bizarre way.. He was casually roaming around, taunting and messing with the homeless.. How much of a psycho is he really?? He deserves a spin off like a prequel or something..
The first 2-3 episodes were pretty boring.. The build up was poor and failed to capture the momentum.. Honestly.. In my opinion Lee Jung Jae’s story should have ended with first Season.. If not he definitely shouldn’t have been in the anchor role again.. He literally fell into the same trap again... How stupid is he?? He also took away the opportunity to explore new characters or stories and there were plenty to explore..
I don’t know what to say about Park Sung Hoon.. He absolutely nailed his role.. And TOP?? His character was so pathetic.. I was expecting nothing less than a horrible death for him and he got what he deserved..
Im Si Wan.. You can always expect a top tier performance from him.. And he definitely delivered.. I really hope he and Jun Hui get a happy ending..
The introduction of Player Number 1 was a huge twist.. Totally unexpected.. I was thinking "Gi Hun and his plans are screwed "..
Why so many talented actors if you dont plan on utilising them??
Squid Game Season 2 really missed the chance to recreate the intensity and impact that made the first season so iconic.. It ended up being a below par season.. Felt more one dimensional.. They should have just made it a 12 ep season and finished the drama.. For me Im Siwan and Park Sung Hoon were the standout performers..
P.s.. Please dont feel compelled to upvote my review.. Someone seems to be having some personal issues.. Possibly another reviewer.. And I dont want to add to the drama.. I post my reviews as a way of sharing / recording my thoughts.. Much like keeping a diary.. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read it..

O fato do Gi Hun saber do jogo poderia deixar as coisas monótonas. Ledo engano.
Mérito total do roteiro frenético do último episódio, principalmente a partir do motim.

STAR STUDDED, YET UNDERUSED
this series cast a lot of big-name actors, yet their characters were very underdeveloped, leading to meaningless deaths (Lee Jin Wook’s character, for instance). i didn’t care about any of the characters, which shows just how disconnected they felt. there were also too many annoying, shallow characters this season.the story was extremely underwhelming. the beginning was super slow, although it was interesting to see more of Gong Yoo’s character in episode 1. compared to season 1, there seemed to be more dialogue between characters when they were not in game, but somehow it felt boring and lacked anything heartfelt. i skipped many scenes from the last two episodes and didn’t miss any important information. by the end of the series, i had even forgotten about the cop still out at sea, trying to locate and get into the island where the game was held.
it was nice to see glimpses of the soldiers’ perspectives. i’m sure they’ll explore more of that in the next season.

Not too bad. Actually quite good
This does not deserve such bad ratings. Yes, I agree that not everything about this season was great... but it still at least deserves 8 Stars. The acting was great, the characters were interesting.
I wish the characters' deaths weren't so predictable. They should have let some of them live. They had a lot of potential. I'm sad that Gi Hun didn't learn much from season 1 (or so it seems). Hopefully season 3 is better and he doesn't fall for the same trick again and realizes how people are during the games.

I loved season two.
Frankly, I'm baffled by some of the lower ratings. I think many of them have to do with the cliffhanger ending. I knew before watching that this would be sort of a part one, so I was not so disappointed.Season one was mind blowing because it was a novel idea at the time. Season two had big shoes to fill. I liked that we start to see from the point of view of the characters who are not part of the games and I'm interested to learn more of their motives and backstories in season three, especially the North Korean defector.
The rock/paper/scissors/Russian Roulette segment was so impactful. Even more so when Gi Hun and the recruiter square up. I really didn't expect that outcome.
A couple of caveats here. When the Front man joins the game (not a spoiler, since it happens in the beginning), the fact that he's number 001 doesn't throw up any red flags to Gi Hun seems a bit unbelievable. Also, with so many top stars, there wasn't a lot of mystery about who would not be eliminated early on.
I think season three is going to totally blow us away. I hope it comes out by summer. Can't wait!

Better than expectations
I found it better than S1. In S1 we saw games by the participants prospective but in this one we alos got to see perspective of recruiter, pink guards, black guard and the main guy. The rating is low because MDL audience is always has been like this, a romantic cliche drama with same story and nothing new to offer easily gets 8.5+ rating but when a thriller dramas starts getting popular all of them suddenly become critics.Their complaints doesn't even make any sense. Many are surprised that why did we get s sequel, bro it was already obvious by the ending of S1. Some are saying that what kind of ending was that when everyone already know it was part 1 of S2 and part 2 is yet to come so what ending?
I'm happy that Park Gyu Young got enough screen-time, I thought she is a guard so she will always be in mask and unrecognizable but the really made her stand out. All characters had good screen-time but Jo Yu Ri and Lee Jin Wook were barely there.

STAYING TUNED FOR THE NEXT AND FINALE SEASON OF THE SERIES IN 2025
SEASON 2 AT THE LEVEL OF MY EXPECTATIONS !Watched the whole thing in a day and honestly I was afraid to be disappointed by everything after the long wait (due to the fame the series has gained, I thought the writers aiming for too big would mess things up) but this season satisfied my expectations and will have me waiting for the new one.
Now let’s get to the core of my review :
The casting, the decor, the OSTs, the scenography everything was epic (btw can someone tell me the name of the song used in Season 2 Episode 3 around 27 minutes from the end of the episode ?)
About the new characters, I really loved the writing and the plot twists as well as the new games. Now only problem would be the protagonist as he keeps getting dumber and acting carelessly. Because tell me why the dude isn’t thinking strategically once he gets the chance to get in the game? Why is he straight up revealing that he was in the game before ? Cuz bro that’s what changed everything and even made the master of the game (the one with the black mask, In-ho ?) infiltrate it and managing from the inside. That’s also what made the annoying old (the player with 10B debts) stand up during the first vote and influenced everyone into vote for to stay in the game as he thought gi-hun (player 456) would be helpful being a former winner of this.
Now I REALLY hope Jun-hee, the pregnant girl will NEVER get back with this pos that is MG coin because he doesn’t deserve her and still doesn’t seem trustworthy. A manipulator that scammed and ruined people’s lives including his and hers, got her pregnant and told her to abort without asking what she wanted to do, then left her doesn’t deserve to be the father of their child. Now, as I saw her starting to trust him again in the last episodes, I hope in Season 3 she won’t get back to him !
Also I gotta say objectively MANY rew roles were hella cliche and some plot twists predictable. The Master (funny how he took the number 001, the same as the other chef, the old man, the traitor) and his fishy acting, how he would switch up the upcoming games etc… Like bro be a bit more unpredictable and creative.
Thanos the rapper really gave me second embarrassment during the whole season, blatantly and uncomfortably hitting up on girls, acting like everyone was one of his minions and switching up to english randomly and only to say useless lines. T.O.P’s acting was fire though cuz I felt strong emotions everytime his character would appear on screen. It’s just the character the problem, the rapper and how he acts is just too cliche. (Jo Yuri and Im Siwan also did a great job in their acting !)
Then another cliche character, Min-sun, the typical coward till the end and I’m not even saying I wouldn’t have done the same. His character is just not as interesting as I thought he could’ve been.
Then honorable mentions of good characters go to : Jung-bae, Dae-Ho (I wanna know more of his background because he seems to have some ptsd but they’ll never make me hate you 😞), Hyeon-ju (the effort of depicting a transgender person and the prejudices over them was although being a bit lacking in execution already a good step forward especially for a mainstream series like Squid game), the old mom and her son, Jun-Hee, the girl with the vertical labret percing.
Player 246 and young-mi’s deaths had me in tears just like I cried so much for Ali, Sae Byeok and 001’s deaths in season 1 (before learning 001 was a traitor)
Now the gangsters esp the boss and his associate and best friend. RIP the boss and I hope his best friend will make it out alive and that they’ll understand that the captain of their boat is fishy (pun intended) tho he always had that bad aura tbh.
011 I love you. Thanks for messing up the organ trafficking business. Hope she’ll find her child and be able to help the little girl that has blood cancer !
On a side note I wanted to add something I really “appreciated” : The way the series was filmed and directed really made me feel like during season 1 as I was induced to feel like one of those VIPs that watch the games like an actual source of enjoyment. I surely worded it wrong but I meant seeing it I had that feeling that I was actually acting like one of those VIPs, yearning for this or that character, hating on this and that person etc…
