How can you tell it is a romantic J-drama? Shhh! Don’t interrupt the skinship.
In J romance dramas we trust. I do declare! The Japanese really know how to deliver a short, nice, easy-binge drama that just seems to hit the spot. There is no point in calling out the drama for being shallow or one note. Let’s be honest, most of this type of j-dramas can be summarised on the back of a small napkin. This is also the difference between a j-drama and a similar Korean show. The Korean version will overthink and overwork the plots and probably add a lunatic killer, just because. On the other hand, an equivalent c-drama will be stretched to 40 episodes, and we shall pray for deliverance from the endless angsty tropes and breakups. Not that j-dramas don’t have tropes, there are plenty. However, they are usually under a tight rein and the plot is distilled into a set of key markers so that we get what is needed just at the right juncture.
For this drama, the plot can’t be simpler. We start with a cohabitation trope between two long lost high school classmates. This is signed, sealed and delivered within the opening minutes. The rest of the show is all about how the ML confesses (repeatedly) and pursuits the FL tirelessly. All the while chipping away at her armour and make her fall in love with him even though he is the one who is obsessed with her for 10 years.
Before you jump to the conclusion that he is some kind of psycho with despicable design on the poor hapless FL, you need to take a chill pill. ;) What you will find is a ML who is totally devoted to the FL and pretty much worships her. It is also important that he respects her and will do anything to please her and protect her. All this is done in an open and adorable way. He certainly has no problem telling her how he feels. It took a little longer for the FL to reciprocate though.
Needless to say, he yearns for her, but he is willing to wait for her to accept him first. When that happens, it is on for young and old! Our skinship quota went into orbit. Don’t get me wrong. It is not sleazy nor egregious. They accept that physical intimacy is an important part of a healthy relationship. FL went from being unsure and timid to being quite bold.
Like other similar j-dramas, we see a steady progress in their relationship. There are lumps and bumps along the way but they work to overcome them as a couple. Communication is the key. They are also sensitive to each other’s feelings and will act upon signs before they fester into sores.
Most importantly, the ML helps the FL to thrive and embrace the world beyond books. There are many sweet and swoon worthy moments. Don't judge this show by its poster. ;)
If you are a romantic looking for a straightforward, swoon-y show then add 1 extra point to the score. Seriously, if you feel jaded after watching a disappointing or just plain exasperating “romance” drama, just fire this up and lose yourself in it for a few hours. This show will make you believe in true love again. Highly recommended.

Only 10 episodes: it’s a Light Modern Story
Summary: although I’m not into singles just Living Together, this story is really about budding hot first phase of romance. To those who have been in toe-curling relationships or close to this. We’ll, my husband is like the guy in the story. He will love the earth during the first few years of our marriage and we did have 10 years of just-us then kids happened. Yeah, kids happened. Watch this just as you drink a fresh cup of coffee. Nothing too heavy. No one dies here, no revenge, no family conflicts. Same old chick flick with good tasteful romance bed scene. When you’ve had kids, those scenes are really not torrid. This drama spans a 4-month love story. In reality, that’s a drop of water in a strong current of lets -always-work-it-out real life drama. So curl back and have low expectations.
Pros:
- I like the chemistry and intensity of their looks. The guy lacks passion in his kisses. I think the lady is ready to give her all compared to the guy. The guy wants to look good on the video during kissing scene. It’s not really a passionate kiss.
- light story. No revenge, no one dies
- it’s not creepy as some reviewers said. The guy is just passionate about the lady. When you are in that passionate stage, insecurities arise. Thats predictable light hearted romance drama.
Cons:
- the guy could be more passionate.

A JDrama I can like a lot!
I have watched quite a lot of the JDramas and can honestly say that I like this one the most even with all the skin ship scenes. I don’t mind a little. This one had a lot but I like it because they were tastefully done.Storyline - No bed hopping here, thankfully. The FL was better written in this drama! A bit shy but she had backbone. The ML was not a creepy guy. At first he seemed a bit that way but as you watch the story you see why he came on the way he did to her at first. I liked their story. I liked how they stayed “true” to each other. Even with the little love triangle with Gaku. She never wavered. Was refreshing for a JDrama. I really like this storyline and cast. It was smooth and told their story perfectly for my liking.
Acting/Cast - I loved them all from the main leads down to the coworkers and her parents. The parents were cute. They did a great job.
Rewatch - it is put into my absolute favorites list on Viki so it is a definite YES!

Bookworm Softcore
Was this introverted lady smut? Yes. Did I care? No.In real life, I know a relationship like this is full of red flags but right now I just wanted a lovey escape and this filled that. It will not win awards, acting is not amazing, not a cinematic masterpiece, and no OST to speak of. But if you want a dose of fantasy romance with some steam then this works! Bonus is that it goes fast so you can watch it in between heavy c or k dramas for a brain break.
A nice difference with this Jdramas is the FL doesn't remain coy, innocent the entire time. Often I see comparisons to Coffee and Vanilla for any romance Jdramas and I much prefer the FL in Blinded Kiss because she grows into the relationship.

Drama for a tedious day
The drama is generally a simple cliché, the clever boy who falls in love with the girl not so smart as he, but in a way she captivated his heart, and so over the years he cannot forget her, and comes back to try a relationship with her.But Chijo no Seppun has but do it if slightly different from other conventional dramas with this theme, it is simply the fact of erotic moments. So both characters don’t act so innocently when it comes to sexuality.
In my opinion it is a good drama to watch once when we are at that moment not knowing what to watch.
I can also say that it is not drama that will be marked in people’s minds even having "erotic" scenes.
It’s a fun drama, but not funny...Sometimes ML is kind of boring and FL is kind of annoying, but nothing too much exaggerated tolerable.
I think it would be a much more interesting drama without having a slightly more complex and better structured historical line.
I don’t have much say in the acting of the actors, because I’ve never seen any drama with them is the first time I’ve seen each one. So judging them without knowing other jobs would be a little difficult for me. But I can say that according to the standard established for each character they acted well.
The soundtrack is not remarkable, so it is forgotten in some corner of the head.
Watch if you’re bored

Generic romcom
Blinded Kiss is yet another jdrama that begins with a creepy leading man that ends up being a keeper once you get to know him. I don’t know how else to describe it.Look. I am all for these lighthearted, surface level romcoms but can’t we just present all the characters as healthy options from the start?
Once they are together, their relationship is very healthy and respectful of each other’s interest and feelings. I just think leading lady didn’t need to be “tricked” into living together with a man for her to fall in love with him.

Entertaining reminder of young love in it's first passion.
For males or females who can recall either being the object of the desire or being the desirer in a relationship. The couple in this J romance have a lot to overcome before they open up to each other.
The female is an introverted bookworm who would rather lose herself in the printed page than anything else and this means relationships as well. The ML, in a tired and sensitive time at school, steals a kiss. This tiny action has a lasting impression on him and so 10 years later, when he returns to Japan, he contrives a chance meeting and pursues her. The timing of this encounter is perfect because the Fl need somewhere to live that will contain her many books.
Once they are living together he tentatively but relentlessly puts into action all the supportive, sweet romantic gestures he can without scaring her away, The Fl comes to like and expect these offerings and so their intimacy progresses,
What I liked was the ML straightforwardness. He also knows how to play the push pull game to get the Fl to initiate more. The Fl keeps believing her past trope of only needing books until she starts to realise she also needs him.
What stood out for me was the consistency of the ML's pursuit. At first I thought it was too one sided but as their relationship develops the Fl surprises herself with her awakened lust and jealousy.
There is a lot of fantasy and skinship all done in a soft dreamy way. Gentle but still far and away better than the K drama and C drama efforts that pass for romance.
Entertaining reminder of young love in it's first passion.

Light, surface story
There isn't a lot of depth to this story. It's short - only 10 episodes. If you're looking for some serious skinship, this is the show for you. I appreciated the skinship, but I didn't feel emotionally invested in the story, because we didn't really learn enough about the characters to feel anything for them. Two boys liked the FL in high school (why? Because she was pretty? That's the impression I got. It certainly wasn't because of any interactions that they had with one another). They meet 10 years later, and the same two men are still in love with the woman. The FL did a lot of pouting, which was supposed to be sexy maybe? There really wasn't anything happening, drama-wise to create tension and move the story along. There was a moment when she said she might be leaving the country. The ML was like, "Oh, okay." The ending was abrupt.
So, overall, not a bad watch, but just not much there.

SWOON WORTHY OVERLOAD
Thank you Japan for bringing us yet another palpitating romance that is funny, romantic and titillating! I love these dramas that compete with some of these BL shows that put on some serious swoon worthy material. Us heteros need that too! All of these dry romances that are afraid to go further than a peck on the lips and that's supposed to get us excited, while all of the heart stopping romances lie in the BL category. Did you notice that? The ML and FL are perfect for their roles. Japan is so good at their short, pithy way of characterizing without losing the value of the story. And this is yet another romantic comedy that has a mood to it like bubbly champagne! So jump in and enjoy!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Entertaning cliche
- The ML is creepy AF in the first two episodes ( I almost dropped it because of that) but it gets better as the story progresses. In the scenes when the actor can act more naturally, I felt even intrigued by him.- Something similar happens with the FL. Super cringey at first, then she becomes more relatable.
- The second lead gives me big Korean second lead vibes.
- The story is as predictable as it can be.
- The music is kind of non remarkable.
All in all, a simple and entertaining short series if you can get past the rough first episodes.
