Slow torture

14 episodes spanning over 3 months. This drama was a slow torture not because I have to wait every week for one episode, but because this boring story never seems to end.

The story, mind you was intriguing but yet again, the cast delivered it in a way that got me dozing while watching. It makes me very sad to say, that the only contribution Cha Eun Woo managed to throw in, was his dazzling handsome face, his acting has a waaay further to go. Fighting! Cha Eun Woo! You got this!

But yeah, how can they make an interesting story boring is waaaaaay beyond me, but as a person who watched it just to see the ending I was just disappointed. They should have just broadcasted it and got it done with instead of dragging it over for months without any real gain.

choppy vague genres and a million flashbacks

Could have been a cute romcom but tried to add other genres and couldn't find a good balance.

I know its based off a webtoon, but sometimes you can make changes from original source material. I only read up until you find out about the mountain spirit, then dropped it, so I'm not sure if the show presented the historical stuff the same, but it made the show worse for me regardless. Like the mountain spirit is not a redeemable character, he is just an asshole and I feel no sympathy for him at all. And no one really questions anything ever? They just say accept everything at face value.

The resolution wasn't even really a resolution either? It felt more like "hey this is what really happened, okay cool, oooh look they got a dog! haha, happily ever after for everyone!" And the minutes long flashbacks, that happened MULTIPLE times of the SAME stuff was tiring. Like I kinda get it, their air schedule was messed up and they had to remind people what happened 2 months ago, but come on like 3 episodes had what felt like 20 minutes of flashbacks, back to back. I was constantly skipping ahead or watching on 2x speed once I passed the 9th episode.

A nice romantic series, sometimes funny, with well-executed suspense.

The plot is totally wacky, but very funny. It makes the series catchy in the 1st part, with more length in the 2nd part, which is also more dramatic, relating to resentment linked to their past lives.

PLOT: The story essentially concerns teachers in a high school. The FL (by mistake) kisses the ML, which triggers the bad luck that has affected members of her family for generations: she turns into a dog from midnight to 6 a.m. She can only undo this spell if the ML (who has a panic fear of dogs) kisses her again in her dog form.

What I liked about it:
+ Cha Eun Woo, handsome as usual, but playing better and better. He brings the ML to life with very convincing nuances of emotion.
+ I wasn't too convinced by the FL, but I gradually let myself be taken in by her "puppy" charm. Cocoa is very cute, but we still feel the CGI at times ;)
+ Some very nice scenes for the CL, touching, and overall, great chemistry and lots of kisses.
+ The story is written intelligently, it's coherent and quite realistic for such a wacky plot.
+ The production is almost perfect. The suspense is maintained until the end. The clues are given at the right time for the viewer to put the puzzle together in their head.
+ The OSTs are excellent and fit perfectly with the emotions of the scenes.

What I liked least:
- the part concerning past lives was too long, and above all, gave rise to too many flashbacks.
- The Finale is a Happy Ending, satisfactory for the CL, but the development of some characters (the uncle) is a little sloppy.

Plot totalement farfelu, mais série très drôle & accrocheuse dans la 1e partie, davantage de longueurs dans la 2e partie, plus dramatique, ayant trait à la rancœur liée aux vies antérieures.

PLOT: L'histoire concerne essentiellement des profs dans un lycée. La FL embrasse (par erreur) le ML, ce qui déclenche chez elle le mauvais sort touchant les membres de sa famille depuis des générations : elle se transforme en chien de minuit à 6 h du matin. Elle ne peut annuler ce sort que si le ML (qui a une peur panique des chiens) l'embrasse à nouveau sous sa forme de chien.

What I liked about it:
+ Cha Eun Woo, toujours aussi beau, mais qui joue de mieux en mieux. Il donne vie au ML avec des nuances d'émotions très convaincantes.
+ Je n'étais pas trop convaincue par la FL, mais je me suis laissée peu à peu prendre par son charme "canin". Cocoa est très cute, mais on sent tout de même les CGI par moments ;)
+ Quelques très jolies scènes pour le CL, touchantes, et globalement, une belle alchimie et beaucoup de kisses.
+ La story est écrite avec intelligence, c'est cohérent et assez réaliste pour un plot aussi farfelu.
+ La réalisation est quasi parfaite. Le suspense est maintenu jusqu'au bout. Les indices sont donnés au bon moment pour que le spectateur assemble le puzzle dans sa tête.
+ Les OST sont excellentes et collent parfaitement aux émotions des scènes.

Ce que j'ai moins aimé:
- la partie concernant les vies antérieures était trop longue, et surtout, a donné lieu à trop de flashbacks.
- Le "Final" est une Happy End, satisfaisante pour le CL, mais l'évolution de certains personnages (l'oncle) est un peu bâclée.

=> Une série sympa, parfois drôle, avec un suspense bien mené.

Cha Eun Woo, Yes!!!

Based on the Naver Webtoon of the same name by Lee Hey.

To be honest, my first thought was to pass up this one, because the premise sounded boring and stupid. However, I saw that A Good Day to Be a Dog was running a rate of 9.8/10 from the viewing audience, so I took a chance. This drama has a stacked cast and is surprisingly good, bad premise and all. The story is about this teacher who turns into a dog at night if a guy kisses her, but returns to normal in the morning. While this did not sound good on paper, I am likening the series, based one its beginning episodes. It is hilarious.

And it’s a cute dog that steals the show.

Deeply disappointing drama

This drama was fun enough at first, when dealing with the curse and getting to a point where our leads fall for each other, but the second half was a slog.
The only saving grace of this show is that closet kiss. I was absolutely not expecting Cha Eun Woo to kiss like that! One of the best kisses I’ve ever seen in a kdrama. Though I need to point out that Park Gyu Young was phoning it in for her kisses in this drama. She had our ML do all the work, which is disappointing if you’ve seen her work in Dali And Cocky Prince.

Anyway, the major problem for me with this drama is that both leads aren’t that interesting. By the second half I had a hard time caring about them despite how much drama was thrown their way. The past life stuff was not interesting to me. The antagonist’s plan felt half-baked.
Part of this is frankly due to the nature of the source material. A lot of webtoons imo feature these idealized, wish-fulfillment romances that don’t make for great television. They also often get heavy-handed with a certain progressive bent so as to have characters that are completely “unproblematic”. It’s boring. And while I enjoy a sweet romance, these stories tend to have the substance of cotton candy. The leads are two nice people who only have eyes for each other. That’s nice, but it doesn’t make for very compelling TV, particularly if you’ve watched a bunch of other kdramas with similarly inoffensive characters. They get together and proceed to have the standard by-the-numbers fluffy kdrama romance where two adults act like teenagers who are scandalized simply by the thought of spending time alone with the person they’re with.

Maybe I’m over fluffy romcoms for a bit, but I was watching The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and while that drama had its problems with some characterization issues and plot, in the end I found it far more enjoyable despite also being a fairly fluffy watch purely on the strength of the leads, who were simply more dynamic.

Cute and adorable with a past

I rarely watch Korean shows, this would be my 2nd one.

I find this series very cute and adorable. I happened to stumble onto a trailer of it while browsing my Viki. Firstly, I find the show very cute and adorable with alot of funny and humorous parts. Not extremely familiar with Korean actors/actresses, but I have to say the 1st Male Lead and the Female Lead couple are extremely good together, be it in serious situations or out of the ordinary to the funny situations - not forgetting the mini romance scenes here and there. The 2nd Male Lead, the mysterious person from the get go, I feel that he definitely played his role really well - right up till the end. Overall, all the casts did a really good job bringing this series to life. I also love all the variety of dogs shown in the series.

The songs are beautiful, majority of them. I especially love the song that was sung at the wedding - if anyone knows the title, do let me know (thanks!).

All in all, it is a good watch, if you find the synopsis interesting and catches your interest. As for rewatch value, you would have to decide on your own. I definitely am watching it a 2nd round (or more).

Drama de comédia romântica para passar tempo. É um conceito fantasia, meio histórico (mais se passa nos tempos atuais), romance e comédia. No começo esse drama me prendeu e super acompanhei os últimos lançamentos (até por que decidi assistir quando a maioria já estava lançado), e foi uma boa escolha, até por que não entendo o porque de lançarem apenas um episódio por semana e serem apenas 14 episódios.

Enfim, falando sobre os personagens eu gostei muito dos principais e dos personagens laterais.

Gostei bastante da dinâmica da personagem principal se transformar em cachorro depois de ser beijada (?), por que sinceramente nunca vi algo do tipo! haha

E também gostei bastante da forma que eles demonstraram a época dos namoros dos principais, e o romance entre professores. Muito fofo!

A parte histórica foi bem necessária para explicar o contexto, mesmo depois de ver muita gente reclamando sobre, mas como os reclamões saberiam sobre como começou a maldição da família e como ela acabaria? É necessário na maioria dos dramas e nessa foi super.

Uma coisa que me incomodou assim como várias pessoas como percebi, foi esse último episódio. Teve bastante flashbacks desnecessários e umas histórias um pouco nada a ver com nada, esperava ver mais do namoro deles do que o que já tivemos, mas a parte mais romântica. Também, que pena do tio dela, meu Deus do céu! Como tudo acontece com esse homem! hahahaha. Na minha opinião, o último episódio não foi bom, mas também não foi ruim, foi estranho. Esperava um pouco mais.

Aliás acredito que as cenas de romance foram muito bem feitas pelos protagonistas, a atuação do Eunwoo pelo menos na questão de beijo e química melhoraram muito e espero muito mais dele nesse quesito.

Sendo o meu primeiro drama com a Park Gyu Young sendo a principal totalmente, fiquei feliz pois sempre gostei da maioria dos seus trabalhos então acompanhar um drama de comédia romântica (que são meus favoritos), me fez muito feliz.

Gostaria muito de ver outros trabalhos dos protagonistas juntos, acredito que poderiam mostrar muito mais, principalmente sobre a química deles.

Caiu na previsibilidade

Acabei assistindo a esse drama como uma pesquisa a mais para o livro que estou escrevendo. E no geral... é uma bagunça.
Fiquei mais interessada no plot Histórico e no Deus da Montanha do que naquilo que vim procurando. Admito que o BoGyum acabou sendo meu personagem favorito, a construção do mistério e a tensão ao redor do seu personagem me cativou.

Entretanto, no fim, o plot da vingança dele pela morte do seu primeiro amor acabou no que eu mais temia, o desentendimento.
Na verdade os ancestrais do casal não mataram ela, e ele não viu porque ele olhou pro outro lado por 5 segundos. Achei uma coisa tão clichê, do tipo "eles são o casal principal, não podem ser do mal".

Acabou invalidando o luto do BoGyum e deixaram pra trás uma grande oportunidade de um desfecho inimaginável. Os ancestrais do casal poderiam sim ter entregado a mulher, o que levaria a sua morte, e o drama teria se voltado a tentar redimir o SeoWon e a Haena pelo simples fato de que eles não são seus ancestrais e toda a dor que a família da Haena passou com a maldição já pagou pela morte do primeiro amor do Deus da Montanha (só uma ideia, mas a execução seria bem mais elaborada). Mas essa história escolheu "apontar"pra um vilão.

Os últimos 4 episódios eu tive que ver em 1,.75 de tão enrolados que eles eram. Ao invés de ser 14 episódios, o drama poderia facilmente ter tido somente 10. Não li o Webtoon, espero que no Webtoon eles tenham elaborado melhor isso. Não necessariamente fazendo como eu faria, mas pelo menos sendo um pouco diferente dos demais.

when i first started watching this drama, i got really addicted to their chemistry and their acting. it was definitely one of my fav dramas of 2023, although i admit that watching one episode per week (some were postponed too) was very tiring. but then, my review absolutely changed after this last episodes.

i know they needed to explain their background story, but it wasn't necessary at all to spend like 4 episodes to explain this whole "past" plot. the episodes were also very short, since they used a lot of flashbacks in it to fill out the episode. but I also laughed a lot with this drama (especially with yul) and giggled a lot because of the main couple, their chemistry is top tier and their kisses are the best i ever seen.

i highly recommend watching this, it might be better since all episodes are aired. i will pretend this last episodes didn't exist and just remember how cute, funny & sweet this drama was.

Life is stuck in the past

All the recent dramas that have been released are somehow attached to their previous lives .For example, this drama also 1. moon in the day, 2. the story of park's marriage , 3.my demond etc

This drama did not need to do so many episodes. 8 or 10 episodes could have ended the drama well. The story could have been made stronger, the chemistry did not come between the hero and heroine, the good actors of the family mamber were not given enough screen time and acting move.Comedy could be done in drama. Because there were many comedian actors.The drama could have been a little romantic. There is no proper screen time set in the second leads actors.
The second female lead and the story are a little bit non-perfect. It is not known who her husband is. And I could not understand how her husband forgot his wife ?
