A Good Day To Be a Dog (2023)

This series was something. I was quite excited when I found out about this due to the description being weird, but capturing, but.. i was disappointed. Not to the point that it was horrible, but to the point where I just didn't get the excitement I had gotten in the first few episodes.

THE STORY:

Han Hae-Na: Hae Na, played by Park Gyu Young, is an upbeat woman who has a curse. This curse prevents her from kissing anyone. When one is kissed on the lips, at Midnight (12am) she will turn into a furry friend! This will continue to happen at midnight for 100 days until she can share that same moment with the one she kissed, but in her dog form. If that cannot be fulfilled, she will stay a dog forever. But, when she gets her first kiss, it is by the one she never thought to have eyes for, Jin Seo Won. Now having shared this moment with Seo Won, she must do the same but in her special form. This could be easy, except, Seo Won has a fear of dogs.

MY THOUGHTS:

The original premise caught my interest. Why? Because it seemed new. (To me at least.) The first episode were good, but the airing schedule caused it to go down hill. Not only did it go down hill from the schedule, it went downhill in the story too. It began to drag. And near the end it was kind of a series to watch in the background. Although I gave this a higher rating, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to see Cha Eun Woo (which, lets be honest, was the reason for a lot of us.)

THE ENDING EPISODES:

As the series continues, it dragged along. With Lee Bo Gyum being revealed as the "villain." Which, he was kind of stupid. He went after them when it wasn't even them really. It was just more of their brains in their bodies. The memory wipe was unnecessary and so was the whole backstory in general. If it gave small snippets of the story I'm sure I would've understood just fine.
The ending episode didn't add much to the story, just some cute moments.

Overall, this series was okay. Just okay. I wouldn't NOT recommend it, but I wouldn't expect much if you did want to watch it.

não é um bom dorama... mas é um dorama!

não consegui me conectar com os protagonistas de jeito nenhum, muito menos acreditar que eles realmente estavam apaixonados. o culpado disso claramente foi o enredo bobo, infantil e sem originalidade. simplesmente patético o enredo do natimorto que reencarna num cachorro, só não é pior que o protagonista adulto levando um apavoro de um maluco imitando cachorro no meio da rua. já vi doramas de 10 episódios desenvolverem melhor um relacionamento sem precisar utilizar de artimanhas tão batidas. eu sou fã do clichê que funciona, o que não é o caso aqui já que insistiram em usar os piores e mais irritantes recursos: falhas de comunicação ridículas, personagens tomando decisões estupidas e interrompendo diálogos importantes por pura conveniência do roteiro (que sequer se dá ao trabalho de procurar meios convincentes para isso). não bastasse todos os pontos supracitados, insiste em criar paralelos com as vidas passadas dos personagens onde podemos ver os mesmos problemas de desenvolvimento e criatividade presentes na linha do tempo atual. não contentes em criar uma história ruim, se dispuseram a criar duas!

Good Enough

Korean Drama '' A Good Day To Be A Dog '' is a cute fantasy romantic comedy.

The drama has an adorable love story with a couple that oozes chemistry and has many romantic moments together.

The melodrama was enjoyable as well, though, towards the ending, it got a bit too much. The past story was boring as well. But, the main one had enough thrilling moments, action, and a nice pace, that balanced the rest.

Finally, the performances were all enjoyable by every actor and actress in the cast. The CGI, on the other hand, were bad.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

AVERAGE..... DRAMA ??But if like romance stuff u can try it!

This Kdrama is such a beautiful ride 🤎 I read and loved it! While obviously, the series doesn't exactly follow the same storyline, the essentials are here. It is a great mix of cuteness, comedy, romance and mystery. The ensemble cast does a great job of bringing this story to life, the music is exquisite, and the cinematography, colors are so connected to Manhoya.
I started watching this drama for Cha Eun Woo - loved him in Island, True Beauty and more - and he's perfect for the role. He is such a versatile actor, he brings something new and unique to every new role he plays.
She is a nice surprise, JIN Seo Won's role suits her really well.
The chemistry between the leads is great and the cute and awkward romance aspect of the show is, I think, what makes it so fresh and enjoyable.
I recommend this drama to anyone looking for some cute romance, kind characters and laughs. Enjoy the ride!

Note: The only thing I dislike is having to wait so long for each episode to air. If you're like me and can't wait to know the whole story from start to finish, watch all the episodes in full once they've aired. I think it's a perfect show to watch on a weekend when you need a little more pastel color in your life.

No questions, just a nice happy ending

This had great concept. Because of a family curse, a woman will turn into a dog at midnight if ever she kisses anyone. At 6am she will return to normal but the transformation will repeat itself every night until she, as a dog, kisses the same person. She will only have 100 days to kiss the same person again or else she will remain as a dog. But what if she kisses someone who's afraid of dogs? What can be done to lift the family curse?

Some are saying that Cha Eun woo can't act but I still think he was an appropriate choice for this drama. His awkwardness somehow felt believable for the ML's character, and boy oh boy can he kiss. I think I can forgive him anything just for his kiss scenes.

Park Gyuyoung as the FL, despite good acting, was somewhat lacking for me. I somehow can't buy into her acting bubbly, maybe because I can't separate her from her Celebrity character yet.

This is my first time to see Ryu Abel who played the FL's sister and she looks so much like the actor Heo Jung Min from Go Back Couple that it was all I can think about whenever she's onscreen.

Yoon Hyun Soo as the FL's student was my favorite character of all. When he was advised the ML and FL on their new relationship was the most hilarious part of the drama for me.

For the music, there was a particular ominous bgm they use too much that it became distracting. Silence would have made ominous scenes more impactful.

Despite many replayed scenes which I think should have been cut to lessen the episodes, I think the drama was able to tell its story from Ep1-13 and used Ep 14 to just wrap everything so nicely that you can't help but feel satisfied, especially with the outro song they have used. I might not rewatch it anytime soon but it will definitely put it on the list of rewatchable dramas.

«A Good Day To Be A Dog» a capturé mon intérêt grâce à sa légèreté, son côté unique et amusant, ses scènes mignonnes et attachantes, mais aussi grâce aux acteurs et actrices qui ont donné vie à cette histoire, avec brio ! Et tout ça, avant même de passer à la ‘seconde’ partie du drama qui offre un côté plus dramatique et sérieux. En plus d’avoir des scènes de baisers incroyables ! J’ai passé un excellent moment avec ce drama, même si je l’avoue, certaines parties m’ont moins intéressée, l’alchimie entre les personnages, le talent de ceux-ci, et les moments plus amusants ou mignons ont su maintenir mon intérêt tout au long ! Je n’hésiterai pas à revoir ce drama, et avec plaisir ! 🩷

One of the best adaptations I've watched!

Whether you're a fan of Lee Hey's Webtoon of the same name or you're looking for a sweet, fantasy rom-com kdrama to watch this drama is for you!
Story: Almost like the webtoon but the writer adds scenes to make it immensely interesting!
Acting: AMAZING! The cast may look like a bunch of pretty faces, but they also portray their characters so well! You'll often find yourself crying and smiling with them...
Music: SO GOOD! There's an ost for every sad and happy moment! Cha Eun Woo's jealousy is an absolutely beautiful song plus the others such as Timing by Minnie and Ain't Nobody by Woody!
Rewatch Value: Definitely would rewatch when in need of some cheering up!

Poderia ter sido mais se tivessem feito pequenas mudanças

Não vou mentir, achei o final xoxo... Poderia ter sigo um pouquinho mais empolgante não é?
E acho que o que quebrou o drama também foi a questão de um episódio por semana, não entendi porque fizeram assim.
Mas gostei do drama, ele foi engraçado e fofo e apesar do drama todo da maldição eu gostei
Pra mim foi legal ver a química do Eunwoo e a Gyu young, como casal foram fofos e entregaram muito! Gostei bastante e a OST foi a melhor pra mim.
E pra mim foi quase impossível sentir raiva do hyun woo, com essa carinha de cachorro que ele tem e consegui pegar o mal entendido que teve na vida passadsa deles, então não fiquei com raiva, não tinha motivos...

Whooo's a Good Dawgyy? You Are That's Who!!

If you are in the mood for a fantasy/generational curse/reincarnation drama with some really cutie pawtootie (paw--get it?) dogs as part of the cast, then this is your drama.

Basically, a Josean royal who is a devotee of the Mountain God for most of her life (supporting female lead), marries someone else who is killed as a traitor so the officials come after her. She is saved by her faithful servant girl (female lead) and lover (male lead--who is also a palace guard??? or someone high ranking) who run into the mountains and is protected by the Mountain God (supporting male lead). The mountain god has fallen in love with his long time devotee. The servant girl's lover is caught, imprisoned, and set to be beheaded. The servant girl is carrying their child and in a moment of weakness reveals to the officials where her mistress is hiding in order to save her lover. Back to the mountain we go where a pursuit and fight ensue. The mistress, her servant girl, and the lover/palace guard are cornered on the side of a cliff. The mistress chooses this moment to end her life using the sword of the palace guard and falls over the side of the cliff. The mountain god sees only the bloody sword and his love falling to her death and mistakenly blames the servant girl and her lover. In a rage, he curses their unborn baby with a canine twist which is passed along to future generations.

As the drama starts, it is present day. The descendent of the servant girl is now a high school teacher, living a low-key life as her family suffers from this curse. Whenever they kiss someone, they turn into a dog by night, person by day. They have 100 days to have the person they kissed kiss them back as a dog in order to stay a human. Otherwise they stay a dog permanently. The reincarnation of the guard is a handsome, but cold and dorky math teacher at the same school. She accidentally kisses him while drunk, and the curse springs into action. Now she has 100 days to get him to kiss her as a dog. The twist is, he is afraid of dogs. The high jinks she goes through to finagle this kiss out of him is quite funny, and my favorite part of the drama. In the process the two fall in love again, the curse is lifted and for a while all seems well. Here is where the second twist comes in.

The mountain god is also a teacher at the high school, and he has been the one to bring the two together, watch the curse play out, and watch them suffer. After the curse is lifted, he plots to make them suffer more. The reincarnation of the mistress is one of the students who has shamanistic abilities. She is drawn to the mountain god/teacher, and begins a quest to figure out what happened in the past to make the mountain god want these two to suffer. This is where the historical back story plays out and in the end the mountain god realizes his love's death was not the fault of these two.

The story was cute, mysterious, dramatic, and hilarious all rolled into one. The end was a bit anticlimactic but still cute. I know most watch for the male lead played by Cha Eun Woo. He was superbly beautiful in every scene, and did a nice acting job of being scared of the cutest small dogs in the world. The rest of the cast played there parts well too. This is a nice fantasy drama. Don't go into it with any high expectations. Just some silliness and fun, and you'll enjoy the ride. I guess I could say it was bark-ah-licious..........too much?
