honestly, i liked it.
might contain spoilersi honestly really liked this series. i get the some-what abusive(ish)
behavior coming from type as he hits, kicks, and strikes tharn a
lot.
im not too sure why everyone doesnt like this series too much.
the huge plot twist with lhong really got me. i wasnt expecting
that. i knew from the start what lhong had some sort of liking
towards tharn that wasnt just as bestfriends. i really do feel bad for
lhong though i really do like tharn and type together, lhong just
kinda got thrown to the side a little. ( like type says ) the acting in
this was really good, actually. i felt the feelings that the actors felt
during this. the break up really got to me. overall, great series.
will definitely be watching again in the future.

Not worth the watch
Just like everyone else I started watching this series because of how catchy ep 1 & 2 was. I was wrong for keeping watching this series, as I completely missed out the wrongs and bads.
1. STORY/ACTING
I'm gonna honest and say that this series is romanticizing sexual assualt, which is 1000% wrong to do so. Already in the first episodes we had Tharn who thought it was a good idea to kiss and leave hickeys on Type, without conset, and on top of that,, he was cleary drunk? You really gotta be smart to be that dumb. This is straight upborderline sexual assault, a serious topic that never were discussed.
2. NOT HANDLING MENTAL ILLNESS WELL
In of the episodes, we see Type opening up to Tharn, where he talk about him being raped as a 11 year old. The way Tharn behaved toward Type was very problematic, and clearly he didn't respect Type boundaries. As someone opening up his traumas/PTSD, the first thing YOU SHOULDN'T DO is hug that person. There must be other ways to help him out
Type was already struggling as it is, and he didn't need anything to top up the trauma he went through. A very bad way to portrait a gay character.
3. ROMANTICIZING TOXIC BEHAVIOURS
As Tharn and Types characters developed, I honestly thought we would see some progression in their relationship. I thought that, now that they've become a couple, they would open up to each other and solve their problems between them. But oh well, I was wrong. And not to mention Type hitting Tharn, not once but twice, when he confessed in front of Tharns childhood "friend". And then they proceed to move over to the "steamy scenes"?
It was very confusing to watch, and I was very confused - I was thinking to myself, should I like this couple or not?
Tharn pushes the next boundary without conset and then gets mad when Type is upset? (Was that supposed to be innocent acting or..?)
After Type admits that they are something more than friends, Tharn convinces him to go out into public and drink, then within the next minute he kisses him IN PUBLIC without asking, something Type wasn't ready for.
The same goes for Type. He was a complete asshole and really was way too impulsive and had close to zero redeeming qualities. I failed to see why I should cheer for him and his happiness when I simply did not like him as a human being.
4. WHAT I LIKED
I must admit, I found the fluffy cute scenes between them cute. But the rest, I literally skipped it all and cringed very bad. The writing and the scripting WAS HORRIBLE. The director must be new to all this, and I am hoping he did a better job now that Tharntype 2 is coming out this week.
Surpringsly, I lived for the OST. Till this day it's a BOP.
5. OVERALL
Not worth the watch at all. Would I consider rewatching it? Absolutely not! Let's hope season 2 is something I can watch lol

When I first saw the trailer for this I was hooked. I don't know if its the fact that they both are very handsome or my deep love for Bl. Maybe both I don't know.STORY- 9.5/10
The story was amaazing except for the last episode. Type hating gays (we all know he was gonna ask for the d sooner or later) only to find himself falling inlove with Tharn. The openly gay (fine as f***) guy on campus. The episodes were great (especially that shower scene and the ice scene) I felt stuff I didn't feel before. Why am I crying? MOVING ON
ACTING CAST- 10/10
Bless these fine young men
MUSIC- 10/10
I have the ost's on my phone. Literally embarrassing myself trying to sing them( in public may I add) which never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
REWATCH VALUE_- HELL TO THE FUDGING YES
This is on my rewatch list after I finish my exams in June cause I can binge watch the whole thing and be able to cry myself to sleep without thinking about next week's episode.

Well, well, I see that the reviews are polarising a lot in this case. I will try not to be influenced by any of those I have read.First of all: Wow! I did absolutely not see this stunning finale coming. At the beginning I had my reservations and the finale did not manage to cover all of the initial flaws of the series, but it's still above average and definitely a good watch (first series I binge-watched, btw, beginning from ep. 8).
The flaws cannot be overlooked and must be pointed out:
- Of the two main characters, I did not feel like Tharn was completely convincing. He seemed very unstable, went from very confident and heavy line-crossing (in a bad way) to extremely insecure and easily manipulable.
- Related to this first point: it is undeniable that within the first couple of episodes there were definitely non-consensual things happening. It's not made completely clear how far Tharn went, but it definitely was too far.
- Also related: the overall "tone" in the first four or so episodes was off. Comedic elements and erotic parts all did not mix well with the very serious child abuse trauma Type had suffered and his violent homophobia as a result of that. I was really frustrated with the directors at some point.
- Something seemed to be wrong with the editing in this series, especially in the first half, leaving unexplainable gaps between scenes. Could have been intentional, but then it's definitely a style of editing I do not like; it seemed to be based on airtime and budget requirements. Later on it sometimes made sense, when they were playing with the viewers' knowledge of things vs. the characters' knowledge.
- There were several inconsistencies between episodes that drove me mad, but in the end didn't matter much for the story. By that I mean little things the characters were telling each other in one episode and then had apparently completely forgotten in the next one.
- The "Three years later" part with Love by Chance crossover was unnecessary imo, especially because the different actors make it a bit difficult to make the connections between the two series. Should have just kept them apart.
- I was sad that they forgot to bring up Khom, Type's gay childhood friend, again. At least an explaining phone call by Type would have been enough. But I guess they already had too many characters to keep an eye on.
Except for my second point above, none of the "flaws" I listed could eventually stop me from giving this 9*.
- Type's character development (or maybe his non-development) was great, I could sympathise with him even with all of his flaws.
- The plot twists towards the end were extremely unexpected and led to an incredible mindgame of manipulations. I thought the drama in this series would be all like the very conventional part with P'San, but oh, I was so wrong. First I was shocked when it looked like Tar was going completely crazy; then of course Lhong made me completely speechless; and in the end I was very surprised again (now positively) when Type proved to be much cleverer than one might have thought.
- I can't say anything bad about any of the supporting cast, great job!
- The romance and the sexual moments both felt very real.
- Even with such an incredibly messed-up villain, none of the characters was completely unlikable in the end. Great job, again!
I will definitely not easily forget this series. A big thank you to everyone involved!

You have to watch it until the end!
This is one of those dramas that you have to watch until the end or you’ll hate it. I was very hesitant about watching this due to the homophobia coming from the main character but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! This drama honestly isn’t for everyone but it’s definitely worth a watch. They took a more mature route for this drama and I loved it. The chemistry between mew and gulf was ridiculous. Mew looked at Gulf like he was the only one in the world and I adored it. The kissing scenes were more than enough. They definitely didn’t lack any of that.
I went through about 50 different emotions watching this it seems. Usually when there’s so much drama going on in the next to last episode, the last episode is pure trash, but that wasn’t the case for this! I’ve never cried, been felt with rage and gushed over a main couple as much as I have in this drama. It will make you smile and also pull at your heart strings. You’ll be coo’ing over tharn & type one minute and crying the next.
The music was good, nothing special. I adored the theme song. Everything was perfect. The only thing I didn’t like was how Type looked at homosexuals as if they have a disease but luckily he changed. This drama was amazing and I’d definitely rewatch it on like a rainy, inside kind of day or just for fun.
If you don’t like homophobia I do not recommend this to you because you’ll get pissed off especially if you absolutely despise it. But I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes actual chemistry between the main couple and wants to watch something good!

This just a dream came true from fanfiction to tv.
Both actors are incredibly doing a good job of portraying their feelings.
The chemistry among both of them is almost matchable.
How tharn keep on teasing and chasing type is so sweet and how type reacts will full of blushes is so cute.
Tharn himself is a perfect boyfriend material.
Add up with techno funny remarks and teasing.
I wish there are season 2!!

Rewatch Value: reviewed 3 times so far
OVERALL: I believed in this series from the first moment. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the construction of the story. I cried, smiled, hated and loved with them. I am happy that Mew met Gulf.

A gay man disapproves this.
Certainly turned off with the trope when a gay man found a homophobic straight man, then the gay man kept teasing that straight man until they're having sex in the bathroom (this is almost by definition, the R word); then after a good deed, that homophobic man returns the favor with literally selling his body to be enjoyed by a gay man even before they officially a boyfriend (Yes, that "misekakunoi" thing, this is fucking bullshit). This series is made for girls (specifically, BL watchers) of those advanced level who is silently seeking for rape stories in gay relationship, who wants to see or hear about steamy hypersexualized scenes. Gay men don't want to be seen as rapist and hunting straight men. If you want to watch series about gay men having raunchy sex, why don't just go to gay-oriented series or just straight to gay porn?
No matter you called it fiction or fantasy, it's still not the gay depiction that the gay people want to be attached with. Make no mistake: rape/sexual assault among gay people does exist, but without sensitiveness in mind, TharnType is just a series that further stigmatizes gay people rather than celebrating it. Mew and Gulf's acting is so-so. Visual and music: who cares...

Hello, I started watching it with a friend and we both felt the same way about this drama. First of all, the characters are incoherent and do not make any sense to me, I hated that they used the rape plot and it had absolutely no consequences and Tharn ended up sexual assaulting Type and kept being pushy and forcing Type to do stuff. I do not like this dynamic, like, at all. I could barely watch till the end, but I endured because I wanted it to get better but it didn't.
I don't recommend this sorry.
P.s. the music was also quite off putting, the random dubstep which went off at random was horrible.
bye
