ARE YOU SERIOUS! This drama had a 2 part series and yet the writers still FAIL on how to handle it with a VERY RUSHED & LAME ending? I mean it is a happy ending but it's so pathetic to see only the last 15 mins was actually happy. So dumb. What's up with Chinese writers and their introducing another conflict for the last few episodes of the drama? That's so stupid and cause havoc that wasn't needed. There are so many things wrong with this drama. First of all, HOW DARE YOU WRITERS keeping showing daydreaming of Yan Shu & Cheng Ze's wedding but not bother with doing an actual wedding? I'm so frickin pissed at this. Second, how dare you introduce a conflict that ruin the end of this drama. Last few episodes should've been happiness not sadness and frustration. This last conflict should've been introduced like the beginning of this 2nd part drama (like ended off with this conflict on the 1st part drama). Third, how dare that evil granny witch didn't get punish for all of her evil misdeeds. She got off like she didn't do anything wrong. I hate it when the writing is like this crap. Fourth, the angry and bitterness between the stepsisters it's so stupid and shouldn't haven been carried out this long. It should've been resolved in the first part of this drama. It doesn't make sense how that once a witch of a stepsister ended up doing a 180. There weren't any signs of progression. Fifth, secondary couple should've started at the beginning of this drama and maybe had the second lead finally giving up the female lead from the 1st part drama. This 2nd couple together wasn't believable. All of the sudden they want to be together with no issues from grandma? Yeah right! Sixth, the ending, while ended happy, sucked overall because it was so rushed.
The male & female leads were the only reason I watched this but I totally regret it. It had a lot of cute and funny moments which I did enjoy but was it worth how this drama was handled overall? Nope.

We left off in season one with the aftermath of (english name) Mike and Li Yan Shu sharing a drunk kiss. Mike seems to be extremely happy that it happened, while Karen has mixed feelings. Maybe it is because she thinks Mike will be mad at her or maybe it is because she is not used to having close relationships with others. Regardless of that, this season picks up with Gu Jin Yu realizing the truth of why Li Yan Shu left all those years ago and deciding for the 5th (some large amount) time that he is going to pursue her against this grandmother's wishes. Mike on the other hand has finally accepted his feelings for Li Yan Shu and decided to confess in front of both Li Yan Shu and his younger brother Gu Jin Yu that he is also going to pursue her. Unfortunately, his adoptive grandmother/mother has decided that in order to get rid of Li Yan Shu and "show Gu Jin Yu that she is a gold digger," she wants to "introduce" her to someone else. Which brings us to her brilliant idea to convince Mike to start a fake relationship with her. Mike says no, but still pursues her because he is actually in love with her. Throughout this drama, this plan backfires in so many ways especially Mike's relationship with the Gu family and his adoptive grandmother.
We also FINALLY get into more detail about Mike's past that he cannot remember. It was honestly EVERYTHING seeing Mike and Li Yan Shu's teamwork. Like they work so well together. I also especially loved all the secret looks Mike would give Li Yan Shu when she was hard at work trying to connect the dots based on his fragmented memories. I think this is what made the drama so much better than the first for me. As I said in my first review, Mike's smile is EVERYTHING. We only got a few smiles in season one, so season two was a treat when he would smile and laugh and act goofy around her. Of course his germaphobia (that was connected with his childhood trauma) would get in the way most of the time and we got glimpses of old grumpy Mike who came off snooty. But I did enjoy their relationship. She brought a bubbly piece to it so regardless if something in his life was going bad, she knew how to cheer him up. There were actually a few extremely emotional scenes in this drama where Mike cried, and I felt how much love they had for one another on how much they supported each other. Chemistry was through the roof!!
The reason I couldn't give this drama above a 7, though, was because there was a lot of filler in the beginning, it wasn't until the last group of episodes where everything hit the fan. PLUS, for a couple that loves one another so much and is there to support one another, when a little complication arises, they both turn into their old selves - Mike, a cold businessman who shuns Yan Shu, and Li Yan Shu, a sarcastic liar who loves to push everyone away.
But for what it is worth, the last episode ended the way it needed to and perfectly tied up this entire drama. Like seriously, the beginning of the last ep almost had me in tears. Also it was interesting seeing the villains of season 1 some how become misunderstood characters and they form these strong relationships with the main characters. You know how much I disliked her step sister, but once they formed a bond with one another, it was cute and unbreakable, almost like they had been friends for years.

Why I don't like the drama.First there is no need of 2 seasons ,the story is like this that it can complete in one go.
Second : introduction of two character was nice one had phobia of cleanliness but it had not been shown all the time but that is okay and secondly he had been shown as mr .Perfect and little arrogant but he not able to hold this attitude nicely. Miss lead had a worst past , she had faced bad moments ,she came back to take somewhat revenge basically to proved herself and what had happened to her and hers father was wrong and also shown that she had hate story with the male lead's surname but in second scenario she decided to leave in his house so where her pride gone and he also ready to kept her though he knew she is full of lies. And he hate liars. Then she had past love story with second male lead but she did not have any type of emotions with him and he only loved her .. I thought she pretend that she did not loved him always tried to show bad character of her so he hate her and he would misbehave with her but something like this happened in two episodes then he knew the truth and starting pursue her then why she not melt with his trying and that time she was not fell for 1st lead and
Ending part was nice but story has too many flaws.

A downward slope
OVERALLSeason 2 of Fox's Summer starts out great...then descends into madness. Watch if 1) you're desperate to know what happens after Season 1, or 2) you REALLY like backstories. Think twice if 1) you're looking for well-developed romance, 2) you like well-written plots, 3) you hate repetitive, unnecessary flashbacks.
THE STORY
This review is only for SEASON 2 of Fox's Summer. This season starts strong, really strong. But by episode 4 or 5, things begin to look weird. First, I recently have been complaining about romantic dramas that don't show the "falling in love" properly to jump right into the "we're in love" stage. Fox's Summer 2 does the complete opposite. After an entire season of "falling in love", when the "we're in love" stage begins, the romance turns into nothing. Absolutely nothing. If it weren't because the couple keeps reminding us that they're dating (but literally reminding us, with "but I'm your girlfriend!" or "but we're dating now!"), we never would have known, because they don't look like it at all. I'm not saying this because I think heavy skinship is a must in dramas. I don't think lots of skinship is necessary in romance (even though it's welcome!). But with or without skinship, you need to show some cute, fun, juicy couple scenes. How can we root for the couple otherwise?
Secondly, While the OTP backstories were interesting in season 1, they were essentially that, BACKstories. A bit of extra info about the main leads. Somehow, in season 2, the backstories become the primary plot. A drama that was pretty much a rom-com in season 1 turns into a workplace/melo drama out of nowhere. Another thing I couldn't stand were the flashbacks. They were already bad in season 1, but they become unbearable in season 2. Lastly, there're the skyrocketing inconsistencies. FL ends season 1 living in some place and starts season 2 living somewhere else, no explanations given. Characters with good communication decide not to communicate anymore, others continue to go from good to evil and back. People on their deathbed end up in conversing in their living room in the next scene. Mmm...what? It feels like season 2 was written by entirely different people from season 1, and didn't get the memo about what the drama was about. Such a disappointment.
THE ACTING
Same as season 1. Tan Songyun is fine, male lead is not, and they have zero chemistry. There was hope of some chemistry in season 1, there is nothing at all in season 2.
THE MUSIC
Same as season 1.
THE REWATCH VALUE
Definitely low.

Drama should be called replay!! It drags on way to long
I do not write many reviews on Dramas. But this one is a must. I have never seen so many flashbacks in one show. The show should be called Flashback. You don't need Season one because you will watch it all with the "memories getting replayed over and over. The acting was ok but it got old really fast. Main actress loved on guy in school 7 years later they meet up while she is working for his "brother" in the family company. 1st love wants her back but she falls for the brother. Brother doesn't like her, then he falls for her. Mothers and grandmothers will make you nuts. I lost count how many times the MFL was slapped and just stood there saying nothing. From her "sister", mother, the brothers grandma. I mean she never tried to explain anything that was going on. Everyone treats her like crap and she just takes it.The only reason I stayed was for the neighbor David who was her only friend. He really needed more parts in the story and I can't wait to see him in another drama. The whole drama could have been 1 season if they stopped all the replays. I will be watching to avoid this writer in the future.

Could have been so much better
This review is for the complete series (1&2). My star rating is also based on the two seasons under one.Besides some illogical/unrealistic things, this started off fairly interesting. I felt it peaked as season 1 progressed, and then sadly, pretty much everything declined in season 2.
The quality of both filmography and sound was occasionally real bad, some dialogue and scenes felt very stiff and unnatural, and all the long and repeated flashbacks and other unnecessary long scenes (2 minutes theme park rides). The repeated flashbacks also occurred in S1 by the way.
There was also more (small) holes in the script in S2, and a few bloopers if I recall correctly (daytime/nighttime). Disclaimer: What I questioned as holes in the story might sometimes be due poor translations.
The highlight was the actors. Seven Tang brings a special energy to her performances, and although she might appear to be a bit over-the-top in some scenes, I still think she did a good job.
In some of the casual, relaxed scenes with the ML it kind of seemed like they were not acting, just goofing around having fun. It made me wonder if some lines were unscripted but they decided to keep it in ?.
ML (Jiang Chao) was quite good - I think to play a rather emotionless character well must be pretty hard. He did have some moments where he was really charming, so I am curious to see some of his other works now.
All in all, this could have been much better if it didn’t appear like they had to cut costs and/or rush it. Some elements were a bit too “soap opera-ish” for my liking.

Flashbacks galore
I should’ve read the reviews first. For one, there were too many flashbacks.2) could’ve wrapped everything up in 20 or so episodes.
3) Ending was lame. It did have potential but in the end I didn’t care about any of the main characters other than Mike’s secretary and his girlfriend. Instead of continuous flashbacks I would’ve preferred to have seen the secretary and gf’s send off. Who didn’t predict that mean stepsister and golden boy wouldn’t end up together?

Not really worth your time
I watched this hoping it'd be decent because i like the actress, bu the story was all over the place. The premise was okay and started out fine but the romance in the story dragged on for way too long for this to be a romance with adults.*spoilers*
The grandma was ridiculous and hateful until she did a 180 for no good reason in the 2nd to last episode. You thought it might be related to the car accident and wanting to cover it up, but it turned out to have nothing to do with it.
Took them about 21 episodes for them to accidently kiss and like another few episodes to get together officially.
Business story had a purpose until it didnt and they just messed everything upand pretendedlikethe incompetant brother could actually do it when in real life he wouldnt be able to at all.
The transition to the sisters getting along was good, but they emphasized it too much and dragged it on for too long.
The non ML and FL relationships/love interests were all a little weird to me too. One's a rich heir stalker girlfriend, another's a really bitchy jealous chick who's to scared to confess, and the friend of the FL gives off a soon to be "gotcha!" situation vibe.
The mental illness part was interesting at least, even if it was a little unrealistic.
