This drama had so much potential! The first few episodes were excellent, but rushed writing really brought the quality down near the end. It still gets an overall 8 from me for it’s strong start that gave me all sorts of cute butterfly feelings, but it just couldn’t maintain that initial wow factor.

The beginning of this drama was absolutely adorable! It was refreshing to see two adults be, well, adults about their relationship and the romantic chemistry between the leads was electric. But the plot really started struggling once it began focusing too much on the male lead’s perceived struggles rather than Asuka’s storyline. Despite his good looks and soft-spoken charm, he became such a noble idiot that I actually switched loyalties to the second lead, something I rarely do. It’s pretty clear that cutting the length of this drama had a negative impact on the script writing and subsequent character development.

Nishiuchi Mariya really carried this drama and I loved her portrayal of Asuka. First-time actor Yamamura Ryuta impressed me a lot too and I hope he continues acting. The supporting cast didn’t have much to work with when their characters got quickly pushed into random plots near the end but they also performed very well. There was so much potential!

Conclusion: It was a good drama that needed more time to develop its plot and characters. Not a must-watch but if you like cute and realistic relationships check it out!

After seeing how excited everyone was for this adaptation I hopped on the bandwagon and started watching as well. I wasn't disappointed per say, but this wasn't the best feature either.

Based off the manga of the same name, I can't honestly judge how accurate of an adaptation this was. Overall, the story was completely and utterly rushed during the second half. Originally slated to be a ten to eleven episode drama, unfortunately got cut into 9 episodes resulting in pretty mixed feeling for most. While all the ends are tied up and most everyone gets a happy ending; as a viewer you won't be satisfied in the slightest since everything is so quickly thrown together. The pacing of the first episodes was pleasent and enjoyable, but around episode 7 you can see the marked change in pace.

Overall, the acting was really well done. No one is over the top dramatic, but you'll still get your juicer moments you crave. For Yamamura Ryuta (Nanaryu)'s first role, he's surpirsingly charming and well rounded. He's a bit of a rock; he doesn't get too emotional, but the rather smooth delivery and consistancy for this drama is key. Nishiuchi Mariya (Asuka) is pleasent and not overwelming, dispite who her character is set up and devotion to her beliefs is very convincing. The side characters, from friends to family to implied romantic partners are all belivable and likeable as a whole. There's no real 'villian' character, much to my surprise but the plot still plays out well. All the characters are fairly well developed, aside from their rushed ending. I'm curious to see where Shono Hayama (Kanade), and Kishii Yukino (Momoko) end up in their next roles.

Nishiuchi Mariya lends her voice for the ending theme, and it suits the series well. The music is nothing special, but happily lends itself where it needs to be. My rewatches are always low so no worries.

Overall, this story had the potential to be a really good adaptation. What killed the series was having the content cut from 10/11 episodes down to 9. Not a favorite series of mine, but one I didn't mind passing the time with.

This is the most annoying story I've ever seen
Both leads r weak characters in a very frustrated way
The plot was weak
The events were illogical and disconnected
The romance was bad
The reasons for the transmission from work and separation were trivial

I saw the other male lead was much better and more qualified for the FL
And his character more straight and confident and can defending the female lead in a better way

OMG the male lead raise my temperature by his weakness
All the time he did nothing for the FL except dragging her around
And bring troubles to her
And didn't consider her as a partner
He took decisions totally by himself

In spite of that she always say sorry for him and I don't know whhhhhhhyyyyyyyy -_-

He is really a a total package of selfishness

I hated JD >_<

MDL plz consider 0 as a rate -_-

As someone who hasn't read the manga, I decided to watch this series because I had seen Mariya in a past series (Hotel Concierge). So at first glance I expected an engaging love story. Totsuzen Desu ga displayed a couple with good chemistry and decent acting, but with weak characters / story telling. In addition, I found the love rivals to be quite pushy and unlikeable (at the beginning).

What I liked the most were the supportive network of friends and family, in particular Ono and the brother Kanade. The main OST (sung by Mariya) was also fun to listen to. However, the plot was dragged out (episode 8 did nothing to move the story forward) and then rushed at the end! I understand the series was cut short but I would have hoped for a more coherent conclusion which was not centred on 'change of hearts'. I think the title is a little misleading too.

Overall this drama was pleasant, but could have been better.

A cute drama takes its stab at modern relationships. Though I only read the first few chapters of the original manga, the drama kinda misses the mark with the tone of this story. I wanted someone different to play the lead protagonist ... I felt flumpool's Yamamura Ryuta was a little too cute and green to play Namami Ryu. Also, the drama has a pretty rushed pacing and what loses out is the lead couple's chemistry. Throughout the drama, I kept asking myself why is the female protagonist still getting jerked around by the moody, confidence lacking coward ... That being said ... the last two episodes surprisingly spoke to me. This drama was okay, just okay.

I really wanted to give this drama a review because i absolutely adore the manga! The manga is one of those rare type of books that you can re-read as many times as you want and still get all the same feelings of enjoyment as if you are reading if for the first time. However, i did not get any of that from the drama. I really really was hoping that this drama was going to be a hit for me. :(

I will first start with the story: One of the things i hate about live actions is their need to change the story line so unnecessarily. I don't see the point in wanting to tell the story but not the way it was original portrayed. I do understand that people tend to change things for movies and tv shows to add that extra bit of drama, but in this case i felt it was poorly done. They added characters that never existed in the book and made the lead actress really whinny and dependant on her family, when in  fact that was one of the things he loved about her. He loved that she was so dependant and loyal and took her job very seriously. They made her all about her family and the constant need to push things on other people was another added trait in the drama. One of the main things i loved about leads in the manga was the fact that they are so different and want completely different things in life, and yet they still fall madly in love with each other and want to live in the now. Not trying to focus so much on trying to change the other person but loving each other to the fullest and finding their own way to love each other.
One of the things in my opinion that made the book so enjoyable was the fact that they both were so confident about themselves. And sometimes for Ryuu it came across as lovable and cute, but not overbearing. They story line explored the vulnerability of both sides of the leads, showing that they both fear the fact they might not be able to give what the other person wants in the end. I feel like in the drama the male lead came out as cute in times but bland and a bit boring a majority of the time. In the book Ryuu was extreme loving, caring, witty, sexy and so much more that i feel we have hit way off base on what we were given.

Now the acting: I'm going to be honest i did not know a single person in this cast but i thought overall it was alright. Was it the best acting in a Japanese drama i have ever seen? No. But it wasn't the worst either. I do feel that a lot of it was because i kept thinking for half of the supporting cast who are you? You shouldn't exist in this story! I know i know i sound really biased since the books is one of my all time favourites but a lot of the added in characters really did not need to be there in my opinion.

The music: One thing i really did love was the music. The listined to the ending song every single time. I thought they did a really good job with that.

Re-watch Value: For me i feel this is one of those dramas i would re-watch when i have nothing else to watch and not sure on what i want to watch next. Just really didn't do it for me.

I would just like to say my re view for this drama might be low but for me, it's because the story has so much potential from the book and there was so much that they could have done with it that it just felt flat and rushed a lot. Especially since they tried to cram it all in 9 episodes. But i honestly feel if i hadn't read the book i would have given it a much higher review.

Sweet story of choosing between love or compatibility

Likes
1. I like how the story tackled different views on marriage. There's no right or wrong answer. You decide what makes you happy. Be it married or single.
2. Another critical question that the drama raised, do you continue to be in a relationship knowing you may not end up in marriage? Is it better to stop now before you waste more time? Is it right to hope that the other one changes his mind or will you regret or blame him if he never did?
2. People shouldn't judge other people just because you have different views. I loved their friends and family for being supportive and listening to their problems and offering different words of wisdom. Feels like there are so many people who love and care for them.

Dislikes
Too much noble idiocy from Nanami Ryu although i understand his hesitation to get married and his reasons for breaking up with Asuka. I appreciated that he really thought about his decision but i hated that he decided on his own thinking he knows what's good for Asuka.

Rating: 8/10

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

"Happiness is different for everyone."

"Life won't go on as you planned."

I've finished this dorama only on 1 day! (^o^) I'm not read the manga yet, but if I see some picture, I thought Yamamura Ryuta is not too fit for being NanaRyu (*ノ▽ノ) But whatever. For me, this dorama really plays with my emotions. I've been curious, get mad, get quite happy, get mad again, get sad and mad at the same time, and finally get really happy (^o^) I'm happy to watch this dorama. It's quite nice and the topic is quite natural too (^_^)

P.S. It's just me or did Yamamura Ryuta seems like Koike Teppei? (・・;)ゞ

It’s been weeks since the Japanese drama, Everyone’s Getting Married ended and I still don’t know what happened to it. What I mean to say here is that, for a show with such a good start and potential, I don’t know why it ended the way it did. I understand the show must have lacked TRP’s in Japan which is why the producers of the show must have pulled the plug sooner than expected, but as an international fan, I find it unfair to be cheated of a reasonable conclusion. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the first 6 episodes of the show so I have no major issue with it.

Let’s weigh this to ‘marry or not to marry’ conflicted dorama on our show beam balance and see if it is worth investing your time in or no.

Good Weights
Lead Couple Chemistry: Japanese actress, Mariya Nishiuchi and lead actor Ryuta Yamamura have an age gap of 8 years, but when you watch the show, you will not notice the age difference at all because they look so good together. For a romantic drama, the lead couple chemistry makes up for 90% of the drama. If there is no chemistry between the lead actors, then no matter how good the story is, it will fall flat if they don’t look convincingly in love with each other. Ryu and Asuka’s love story was convincing because the lead actors did a fine job of breathing life into their respective characters and developing good chemistry.

Mariya Nishiuchi: Japanese actress, Mariya Nishiuchi is a cutie pie. She may not be an ace actress but her efforts are evident and worth appreciating. She looks slightly weak in emotional scenes but I am sure she will be better with time and experience. I have no complaints from her in the comedy or romantic scenes. She looked extremely sweet and lovable as Asuka. She is a very pretty and capable actress and I would love to watch more of her shows.

Ryuta Yamamura: If you have read any of my Korean drama reviews you must have noticed how much I gush over the gorgeous Korean men. Japanese actors too are good-looking but they are not pretty like the Korean actors. Japanese heroes are short while the female actresses are usually tall and thin. Actor Ryuta Yamamura may not be the conventional swoon-worthy romantic drama lead, but the guy acts well. His deep masculine voice makes up for his lack of attractiveness. His acting was decent but it was his voice that kept me watching the show.

Screenplay: Everyone’s Getting Married has a simple plot where a love hating man falls in love with a romantic girl who changes his views about marriage. There is nothing new about this story but what was refreshing was the screenplay. We all know that the hero will eventually fall for the girl and marry her but how that happens is where the charm of the show lies. Some shows exude certain natural charm and this was one of them. Despite the thin plotline, I kept going back to the show because I enjoyed the character development of Ryu and Asuka. The sweet couple moments that Ryu and Asuka shared are too adorable. The way they grow close to each, live together and learn about each other’s habits is cute and delightful.

Bad Weights
Ending: Just when I thought the show was going great and it’s going to be my most favourite J-drama, the show suddenly hit the accelerator and drove so fast that it ended before I could even wrap my head around it. The drama is great until episode 6, but from episode 7 onwards the pace of the show is fastened leading you to a hasty ending. I loved watching this show but the abrupt ending ruined its whole impression. With a start so strong, I had great expectations of it but I don’t know why the show was concluded so quickly. The rushed second-half disappointed me and I still hate the producers for depriving me of a good ending.

The show beam balance has more good weights because it really was a good dorama and I have no clue why it was cut short. I have no major complaints from the dorama except the rushed ending which left a sour taste in my mouth.

The show is worth trying because it is absolutely endearing. If you can handle a poor ending but an overall pleasant drama, then go for this one. It is a decent watch for a day when you crave to watch a romantic Japanese drama.

Totsuzen Desu ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu didn't sound that great to me. So imagine my surprise when I picked it up and enjoyed it. At least the start. It didn't really bring anything new, and I did kind of go into it because it's based on a “smut manga”. Well this is totally clean and completely adorable.

Which was the appeal and what I needed. I loved the characters and the actors were wonderful. The show put a smile on my face. The end felt rushed and the result was boring, but I truly enjoyed the fun of the first episodes. (So really the majority of the show since this one is short.)

Sometimes predictable brain fodder is good.

Though I felt it could have had better commentary on the role of women in Japan now. Such as Asuka's dream of being a full time house wife is actually a turn off and men want their woman to work a job. The way in which women decide what they want and so on. It's touched on, but sadly not truly explored. Which is fine for this light hearted drama.

Overall I don't regret this. Fun and simple is something every drama viewer needs. Can you believe this is actually the first Japanese drama I've completely finished! Ha-ha. I'm actually watching other ones with this one and I do really love the story telling style of J-dramas. Because the characters do become developed so well in such a short episode count. No I won't be rushing to rewatch this one, and yes the music will be song long after and I'll wonder where the song is from. Still I think it was perfect for what I needed. I got a happy romance, cute couple, and a wonderful happy ending for everyone. Oh, and there are some pretty clever jokes and humor.

On an ending note I hope to see the actor of the male lead in more work. I love his voice and acting.

I was so excited to watch this drama adaptation, since I finished the manga the other day. What a let down. Thought I understand some things couldn't be there, they also decided to change the characters. One of the things that made me love the manga was the mature, no-nonsense relationship between the two characters. But they decided to screw that over and make a mess of things that weren't a mess in the manga. Honestly I could have enjoyed it better if I had not read the manga first. While certain things couldn't be there, others were changed for the sake of changing them. A lot of the events in the manga where rushed in the drama and honestly you cannot appreciate them.
This ain't it. Lol. I strongly recommend the manga. Other than that I enjoyed the acting and the music.

Though not familiar with Japanese movies I can really say this was a fun film! I saw it twice and still enjoyed it! The actors were good; they communicated well the angst of starting and sustaining a relationship. I particularly liked Asuka's character - assertive without being brusque; tender without being sappy. The Nanami Ryu character was convincing in his wish to hold on to his dislike for marriage despite his growing enchantment for Asuka.
Let me not forget the supporting characters - they showed friendship and affection for one another. An uplifting movie all in all!
