I love to watch those movie with time travel plots. This movie story evolves a 38 years old guy named Wang regrets over something he had done in the past. Back then, he met his secondary school mates and he try to undone what he did. I really enjoyed watching their times together. Who dont have regret in their life. The story also link with the talented deceasd singer, Tom Chang and very good selection of songs. The cast selection are great. Not so much about die hard love story but more on admiring someone you love and you want her to do well. I like the ending very much.

Overall, the plot was fine. Although it tried to wrestle with some deep ideas/themes such as suicide, childhood love, or the inability to achieve one's dreams, the gimmicky three day time travel and the format as a movie didn't really allow time for any development of these ideas.

That is not to say that the plot was bad. Perhaps it was a little superficial, but even so there were quite a few tear-jerker moments when I could actively empathize with the characters. This was made especially easy with the superb acting given by Jasper Liu and Vivian Sung (I honestly wish there were more movies/dramas with her in it because IMO she is a superb actress). The good acting paired with an interesting plot -- if somewhat underutilized made the movie quit enjoyable.

Thus, overall, I would say the movie, by itself, was pretty good. It had a decent combination of good plot, cinematography and actors. Yet at the same time, I was left feeling so much more. With the deeper themes presented in the movie, it left me wondering if the movie could have been more impactful if instead of using the time travel gimmick, the movie instead focused on an adult Wang Zhi Xiang aiding an adult Li En Pei in reconciling her shattered hopes and dreams with reality. With the superb acting of Jasper Liu and Vivian Sung, I'm sure this hypothetical movie would have been amazing. But, alas, what we got was just "Take Me to the Moon", which on it's own merits is still quite good.

Hence, I definitely recommend giving a watch.

(And also, to the gods of Asian dramas, please give Vivian Sung more roles!! She is too amazing to only have had so few roles in her acting career)

Time Waits For No One

Take Me To The Moon (2017) is a time-traveling story of childhood regrets, and growing up. The story itself is similar to another film staring Vivian Sung called Our Times. (2015) Both films deal with two different types of childhood regrets, and each story is filled with nostalgia. Although I personally prefer Our Times, I still enjoyed the performances of Jasper Liu as the main lead, and Vivian Sung as the love interest. They are both very believable, and I ended up rooting for them both by the end of the story. As for the OST, it was okay. I was a little disappointed, since the film is suppose to be about music, but it is made up by lovable characters and their stories. If you enjoyed this film, definitely check out Our Times!! This could easily be a double-feature.

The very first reason I want to watch this movie is because of Vivian Sung and Jasper Liu. This is another movie with time travel theme; and other than suspense, time travel is the theme I also loved. But then, I'm not too attached with this movie. Other than time-travel, the other topics raised are friendship and love.

To think that this is a movie and male lead just have 3 days to rescue female lead's future, I think the story is solid enough. The problem and the settlement are clear enough, but me personally feels that the ending a little bit cliffhanger. Maybe it's better if they add another 10 or 15 minutes to satisfied the audience (o^ ^o)

The male and female lead's acting are unquestionable. They always act all out and naturally, but in this movie I can't really feel the chemistry between them. Individually they did great, but together I can't say the same. Maybe because male lead is told came from the future, so he can't act naturally in front of the female lead.

These are some songs I found in this movie :
1. 不想失去你 (Bùxiǎng shīqù nǐ / Don’t Want to Lose You) : Jasper Liu
2. 我期待 (Wǒ qídài / I’m Looking Forward to) : Yu-Sheng Chang
3. 帶我去月球 (Dài wǒ qù yuèqiú / Take Me to The Moon) : Vivian Sung
