Never a dull moment while watching. All the characters where good and well developed. Their own personal stories are so fresh and different. Also the fact that the main theme is from a fan point of view is perfect. There should be more stories like this one. The romance is there but very different from what we are used to and I loved that.

The soundtrack is also perfect and spot on. I'm 34 and I can tell you they had everything spot on. The trends, the brands, the clothing, beepers and the tamagotchi everything spot on. Congrats for that. I even wished I knew about South Korea and Kpop back then and that I was in their high school too. I saw that even when they are in South Korea back then we all had the same issues with the fashion and everything.

It was hilarious most of the time. The parents relationship felt so real. The friends... yes! every single one of them their dilemmas and issues felt all real. This writers really did their homework with the fan life and fandom issues and hopes.

About the cast, I was really impressed most where new faces overall and I enjoyed that a lot. The cameos where awesome and so beneficial for the drama. I bet that people from that era that where watching felt chills all over getting all nostalgic and singing.

If you are into KPop and see this in your as a fan from some group and imagine they are talking about your group/fandom you will end up loving it too since they really talk about the fan adventures, failures and victories as an independent fan and as a fandom.

I people say it is confusing and boring but I didn't find it nor confusing or boring at all. I watched it in one go and hardly slept because it was too good. Don't forget to watch the making of cause it is really good. I cried watching it felt like I was one of the fans from H.O.T and all.

I don't make reviews on my personal blog about dramas and I just did one of this so that means it left a pretty good impression on me. I will recommend to anybody this drama and I hope that more people not related to KPop watch it so they can get a glimpse of the fan world.

I made a good decision to watch Reply 1997. This is one of those dramas you can't love right away but when you do, it would probably become one of your favourites.

This story is of the most unique and original one among the recent Korean dramas that I have watched. What I loved about this drama was that the writer didn't seem to be afraid to take risks and pen down a very different story. Its basic theme is nostalgia. Remembering the good times and your youth and something everyone can relate to- especially if you're around 30 just like these characters. I am much younger than 30, but I knew where they were coming from.

In the beginning, I would say I wasn't too impressed by it. The story and its humour both seemed to be going nowhere. I got bored and put it on-hold after episode 7. But after I came back to it, it grabbed me instantly and I finished the rest of it in two days. This drama required some patience but it was worth it in the end.

I loved, loved, loved the whole kpop fandom. The depiction of crazy fans was so accurate that I enjoyed every bit of it. Siwon was quite cool and the actress is simply amazing. She was able to portray all different ages without boring me. I thought during the initial episodes she was over-acting, but that was the fun part. The way she was shown to have grown over the years was realistic. This show has been described as a sitcom and with its mystery all I could think of was "How I Met Your Mother". Only that part was something borrowed and nothing else was.

The humour of the show is excellent and the goof up scenes were all hilarious. All characters grow on you and their Busan accent was quite enjoyable. The romance part has also been done well. I loved who Siwon ended up with. It was apparent from the very beginning but there were certain things I could not predict (like the love triangle with both brothers). I think this is the first show I felt like wanting for more after it ended. Lots of things were great about this show. Even its soundtrack is amazing.

I think this is one drama I would love to watch again next year. It gave me a lot to enjoy and hence I recommend it to everyone. You can definitely judge by the ratings. They are quite appropriate!

I want to be honest cause I really enjoyed this drama just as I enjoyed the japanese version and the manga. You will probably enjoy it even if you know the japanese version or the manga but I think you'll enjoy it more if ye didn't know. Like some other reviewers will say a lot of important things are left out that makes Hana Kimi so much fun. On the other hand I understand why the korean version wanted to make things a little different.
But because of that only the relationship between Kang Tae, Goo Jae and Cha Eun filled the entire series which I thought was just not as exciting as it could have been. Because now they are the only main subject in the story leaving no other relationship to sidetrack you in a different story development (the story with his dad felt very weak to me). And I really really missed the Doctor being extravagant and being bothered by his ex and I also feel they didn't properly portrait Song Jong and they did not even properly wrapped that up at the end of the series. I mean if there's one person that'd be bothered by the whole revelation it has to be him making a scene right?
Anyway a good watch don't be alarmed by my ratings cause it is fun.
And I really like Cha Eun especially when he went to his parents I wish we could see more of his home situation cause his parents reacted funny hehe. Oh Min hyun's character background was also left unexplored pity even his story was not properly wrapped up >_

I love this drama but it shouldn't really be compared to Hana Kimi even though they are similar they are far different at the same time. Although I really enjoyed watching every moment of it, I believe that it was lacking in some areas and I really expected more from the kiss scenes and certain other scenes in the drama, as for the end it wasn't really bad I have seen worse endings but again I expected quite more and more emotion. Overall this is a really great watch and I would still recommend it to anyone, I don't regret watching this at all.

Story::

Wow. Just wow. It starts off kind of slow, but when it picks up..good golly does it pick up. The story revolves around revenge, then moves from that to just standing up for whats right. Pretty much from revenge to Good Vs. Evil. Really really well written, I loved it. End was good aswell. Not a major love store here guys, if you're looking for that move on along. I, myself, usually watch only romcoms, but this...this is really good.

Characters/Actors::

Actors performed really well. Hats off to Kim Kang Woo though, really well played psychopath. Right till the end. Every role he played was played really well.

Music::
I have the OST on my playlist, its freaking amazing.

Rewatch::

I dont.

OVerall 10/10 Awesome!

Ok first of all if you are expecting to watch something similar to the manga don't even bother watching it.

The drama itself wasn't bad, but as an adaptation of the manga it just didn't deliver. The only thing that is similar to the manga is the cross-dressing, high jumping, all boys school, and i think that's about it. There were many things missing that is what makes Hana-kimi what it is, (gay doctor, dorm leaders, Kayashima(ability to see ghost), Nakao(kid following Namba)....ugh just too many things.

Japanese Vs Korean Version

When it comes to watching dramas I usually watch Korean(about 98% lol). But If I compare both versions I would definitely have to say the Japanese version is better. Makes me sad because I had high hopes for the Korean version. I really wasn't expecting them to make the same drama all over again, but like I said many things were just left out.

Anyways I don't think it was a bad drama overall, but yeah for hardcore Hana-Kimi fans it just didn't make it.

Wow, where to begin?

I stumbled across this drama by accident when I wanted to watch more shows with Kudo Ayano. I read the synopsis for this and it looked like it was going to be another decently entertaining but cliché school drama. So I started it. After about three episodes in I realized that what I had thought to be a rock was in fact a sparkling diamond. This show is a masterpiece.

Since seeing my last favorite drama which was awhile ago I've felt that I wouldn't really have an easy time finding another drama I'd love enough to rate it 10/10. Well, I finally did. The thing is the grade for this show is different even. Most of the dramas I rate ten is because I think they are amazing shows and pretty much appeal to my own special taste. This one is different in that I think any fan of asian dramas could love this. It's hard to explain why this is a special case but after I'm done mabye I've made myself clear enough. In my eyes it should belong with one of the classics, but I know why it won't at the moment. Anyways, forgive me for being long-winded but I've got alot to tell you about this drama and it's going to take some time to describe why it's so great.

Many dramas have this episodic layout which I'm not a big fan of. They have an ensemble cast and in episodes they single out one person at a time to work on his/her problem and in the next they pick another one. All this while keeping an overarching storyline that they focus on in the first episode and then abit later towards the end. The problem with this for me is I have a hard time connecting with the characters and getting invested in the bigger storyline because all the small different stories that happen in each episode take away time from a coherent narrative. Suzuki Sensei looks like one of these shows at first, only it isn't. They do indeed take up a few persons problem each episode, but everything is connected pretty much. Everything is relevant to the overarching story and important things happen all the time and not just in the end. The characters doesn't just have their scenario told and then their done, not at all. They continue to develop and their stories are brought up and not just forgotten plus relevant to where the story eventually ends up going.

This show is very radical. In terms of theme and opinions. It is alot about minor sexuality. It's amazing how well written and real it feels and the problems they take up are very important things that doesn't get talked about because people might feel they are taboo. Well, someone has to talk about them and bring them up. This leads into what might be the best thing about this show. The radical opinions and behavior of Suzuki sensei himself. He presents opinions and views on things that surprised me alot, in fact sometimes I didn't agree but that's the beauty of it. Even though you might not agree with him, in fact you might very well dislike him but what he is saying isn't wrong, it just different from what we are normally told to be the right thing while still being very rational and good opinions.

I have to warn you though, this show isn't very flashy or cartoony like Gokusen or GTO and the likes. It focuses alot on discussion but it's done in a very intense way still due to what must be some of the best writing I've seen in any tv-show. I was never bored.

I recommend this show to anyone who claims to love asian drama. To me this is how a show is done right. I actually learned something from watching this, something important. I won't tell you outright what it is, you are just going to have to watch it for yourself. Actually I think what you and me get out of this might even be different depending on your own view on things.

The cast is amazing, especially considering alot of them are very young. The music captures the mood of the show incredibly well.

I do have one complaint against this show and without spoiling anything it has to do with something that kinda sticks out in a drama that is so down-to-earth as this is. It's a minor thing, you might not even notice and in the long run it didn't matter. But I rather wish it wasn't there at all. Anyways, I'm going to wrap up this review, I feel I could go on for ages about small things that makes this show the masterpiece it is but then I'd be here all night.

I recommend it, it's a definite 10/10. It's not very flashy or "over the top", it's pretty radical and you might even get offended by some of it. Frankly, having your opinions and beliefs questioned is something good because at the end of the day you can chose what to think yourself anyways but you'll get a broader view of the subject by hearing other sides. I'm sad to see so few people having actually seen this here, it's got about 8 rating votes.

Also I recommend you to go into this with an open mind and pay attention to the details, some smaller things might not be spelled out for you. I hope you didn't get bored with my wall of text and I hope you like this show alright at least if you decide to watch it.

Honestly, I think that I'm just too old for this drama. I haven't read the manga nor seen any of the other versions of this drama. So, this review is based only on watching this drama. The only dramas that I have really enjoyed that include a girl dressing as a boy are Coffee Prince and Sungkyunkwan Scandal. It really isn't a genre that I enjoy. Take all of this in to consideration while reading this review, because if you enjoy those things, then you would probably like this drama more than me.

The story isn't original and actually I found a lot of it frustrating. Should Jae Hee leave, will she leave, will some one make her leave. Blah Blah Blah Even the end just drove me insane. We aren't suppose to post spoilers so I will just say that there were many other solutions for the ending. It is all just so convoluted that I didn't enjoy it. Some of Jae Hee's reasoning to me is very selfish and I don't get it. I just wanted it to be over. On another note there are some really sweet and funny scenes through out that I'm sure all the rom/com lovers will enjoy.

On to the acting which I thought was really good. Sulli did a fair job playing Goo Jae Hee, but I wouldn't for a minute have believed she was a guy. I like Shinee, but I wasn't sure how I would feel about Minho's acting. He did really well playing Kang Tae Joon, he has great facial expressions and made his character sincere. I adored Lee Hyun Woo as a child actor and he was great playing the teen in Equator Man. It is good to know that he won't lose any of his acting ability as he grows older as proven by how well he played Cha Eun Gyeol. Actually, I thought that he made the drama worth watching. I hope these actors continue and I see them in a drama that I can actually enjoy in the future. I really enjoyed the side characters also especially Kim Woo Bin, Julien and Lee Ah Hyun.

The music was pretty good especially Taemin's song.

I won't rewatch it. I barely made it through the first time.

I guess I would recommend this to younger people or people that like young rom/com dramas or people that enjoy girls dressing as boys. Overall I didn't think it was a waste of my time, but I didn't really enjoy it.

I love both the Japanese and Taiwanese versions of Hana Kimi, so at first I wasn't going to watch To the Beautiful You. I'm glad I did, though. It was a pleasant surprise. They added enough unique twists on the original story that it kept me interested. It was visually really nice, too. Lots of eye candy. Kind of light and fluffy, but I still really looked forward to watching it each week.

I really liked the cast. I liked that they're closer to actual high school age, so they play that teenage awkward-cutesy-angsty-ness really well. I pretty much fell in love with Tae Joon and all the supporting guys were really awesome, too. Jae Hee bugged me a bit, especially towards the end, but not enough to ruin things. Oh, and let's not forget the cutest guy in the whole show: SANGCHU! ^_^ I also liked the music, especially the theme song Stand Up.

My biggest complaint about this show is that it lacks the ensemble feel that the other versions have (especially the Japanese version). The supporting guys were definitely underused, especially those from the other two dorms. Kinda sad. I also thought the ending was a bit anticlimactic, but it's not like the other two versions had super-duper endings either.

So, really just small complaints. A very good show. ^_^

Today I saw the last episode and just wanted to post my opinion here.

I've seen the taiwanese and the original Japanese version of Hana Kimi (had attempted to watch the remake but I failed) and find that the authors of this version have made it with the best, especially because they have made it modern and believable than some the previous one. Maybe it was so interesting to me because I wanted to see what they retained what they changed and what they've deleted maybe.

I like the supporting cast (especially the Cha Eun Gyeol plays), but unfortunately the chemistry between Sulli and Minho was not one of lovers, which you can clearly see in the last episode.

I was expecting much, much more from this.

I had hoped to see different faces of Shin Hye's acting, but it was exactly the same as You're Beautiful and Heartstrings.
Don't get me wrong, I find her refreshingly positive, but she seems really static. What she acts, she acts believable and I enjoyed her in the two dramas mentioned, but I had hoped she can do more than just fit into a single role archetype.

I found Tae Gyu unable to provide an image of inner struggle in his character. He seemed very inexpressive, he barely had any facial alteration and his gestures and body language were next to none. I couldn't feel any love from him towards the female lead, nor did I find him able to express the destroyed, heartbroken and utterly consumed by remorse individual he should have been in the ending of the movie. He was simply not fitting his role.

I can't say the script was anything that would make me watch the movie with high interest, as the plot seemed really reeling and enticing, but it failed to offer any depth. No character progression, no compelling development of the story-line, no cliffhanger moments, not even 'oh, so cute' moments (although Shin Hye did her best, but since she was alone in that, meh).

It is a nice movie if you're bored and don't expect much from a movie, I honestly wasn't and yearned for either heart-breaking, funny, romantic, or a powerful rendition of human struggle with ones self. I was hoping for something as powerful as what 'Hello Ghost' signified for me (if you haven't seen it yet, watch it a.s.a.p., it is a gorgeous movie, you'll cry, laugh and get your heart broken, all in the same movie).
I can honestly say that, for me, the re-watch value is close to null.

Holy freaking crap! I just have to say, that this drama would be nothing, I repeat; NOTHING! without Lee Hyun Woo's character Cha Eun Gyeol. I have watched both the Japanese and the Taiwanese version of this drama but neither Ikuta Toma nor Jiro Wang managed to capture my heart the way Lee Hyun Woo did in this Korean version.

The story is not that original, a girl dressing up as a boy in order to accomplish something, and the reason in this version of the drama actually feels a bit lame, but still, the plot invites to A LOT of drama and some terribly epic complications.

The actors... not too impressive, especially Mr. Male Lead. Let me introduce one of the most awkward actors in history, Lee Minho of SHINee who plays the role of high jumper Kang Tae Joon. It's not so much that he's a bad actor, he's just... awkward. One thing that annoyed me and at the same time felt a bit relieving was that the character of the male lead wasn't as emotionally incompetent as the ones in the other versions. The screenwriters tried their wings of responsibility and even though they changed much of the main character's traits they made it into a nicer character to watch.

The music, very mainstream and obviously SM biased, but that has it's causes, I guess. Though, Onew, thanks for creating the mood!

As I said, If it wasn't for Cha Eun Gyeol, the soccer genius (and maybe all the attractive guys......) I wouldn't have loved the drama as much as I do, and if I rewatch it some time in the future I will probably only watch the parts where he's acting... Seriously, knowing what I know (not leaving any spoilers) after watching two versions already, I cried in every episode from like episode 5.
Cha Eun Gyeol, you deserve so much better (me...)

Watch it, and love him! :)

im not even going to comment on the music..its classical music which have been around for generations..that speaks for its self!..
the story: its about 2 opposites meeting and supporting each other and making it big..the rich perfect boy and poor unsophisticated girl..a tragedy in the past..yes yes it goes down that road..what makes it worth watching? what makes it different from other music related movies?..its probably that the variety of the cast is quiet entertaining and there is never a dull moment..the actress insists on being herself no matter how much she is criticizer..its a feel-good movies on the whole..as for me i COULD NOT stand the actress! she got on my every nerve! i stopped it and started watching it...i needed a long time before i could stand her again..the sad thing is i LOVED the rest of the cast they were perfect it their roles!! but a lot of people loved her so maybe its a personal taste..i suggest..watch the first episode for a few min..if u think u can stand or even like the actress..go ahead watch the rest of the drama..u will probably love it..but if in the first few min u cant stand her..stop watching the show..before ur curiosity for the story takes over..otherwise u will be really really frustrated!

I am writing a review after 3721470 months so i will just make this short.

STORY. I've watched the very first Hana Kimi version which is I think is the Japanese and honestly saying, I didnt like it. From the main leading male to the progress of the love story. Same with the Taiwanese version. The previous 2 versions made it short making us, the watchers, disappointed. But with the Korean version, I wont say it was outstanding but it was at least better than the previous versions. This version has elaborated the story more and it was detailed enough not to make the viewers hanging.

ACTING. 1 word: A-W-K-W-A-R-D! I am a big fan of SHINee but not Minho's although i would spend some time watching or monitoring his activities... and Minho's acting was just plain AWKWARD-- especially the last scene when he was looking for Jae Hee in the camera. He needs more practice and so do Sulli. At first, I thought Kwanghee didnt fit this drama but i admit, he portrayed his role really well. Although the lip balm thingy was so out of place but at least he did well. I have no problems with SeungRi sunbae, Seol Ha Na and Cha Eun Gyeol and Min Hyun Jae, i guess. They've been trained for acting so as i always say... Idols should just sing and dance so actors and actresses could do their jobs.

MUSIC. OHMIGOD! I have nothing to say. It was superb. Although they have limit it to SM artists, i do not care. I'm a big fan of SMTOWN anyway (not the company but the artists). A big fan of SHINee especially and Taemin's. So having Taemin sing a solo for the OST of this drama, i give it a 1000000000!!!!

REWATCH VALUE. It was not as good as any of the dramas I plan to rewatch like Reply 1997 and the like but at least this version would be more worth to rewatch than the previos versions.

OVERALL. So-so.

I guess I wasn't able to "keep it short."
Enjoy the drama! :)

I don't know if this show has 12 or 13 episodes, but if MDL says it's 12 so I can fairly say I completed this drama. As no one already wrote a review I feel I need to share my opinion on VISION.

First of all- I love mystery dramas so I started this drama with high expectations. Maybe I shouldn't have...

Story is kinda poor actually, of course in the beginning I was so hooked and wanted more and more, but as drama was in the middle it started to repeat itself over and over again. There were some twists but overall not too much and story started to be a little predictable. I was disappointed how the story developed, seriously I was so obvious! The whole science site of the story was good, I could believe that humans can achieve this kind of technology growth. But the whole game concept... don't make me laugh... >.< If you see this drama you know what I meant.

As for acting skills, not feeling the main lead actress, she was like wood to me. Actually I loved detective with glasses the most, his lines were great, I really could understand his character.

Loving the OST, main theme is beyond wonderful ^^

If you like mystery itself and you don't need logical closure this drama is for you.
