I loved this drama !!
and its not easy for me to fall for a melodrama, they are just not my type & by the time this drama started airing it was really long time since the last time I saw a melodrama, but I have to say : it was a wonderful piece !!
the story, the characters & the dialogs they were very well written, there where no one who is weak or idiot, they knew what they where doing & the consequences yet they went for it, its a show that teach how to act by your instincts.
I'm not a fan of Moon Chea Won & to say the truth I was kind of disappointed that she was the heroin, I just have this feeling that she is faking it all that came with all her dramas that I've watched ( Shining Inheritance , Princess Man ) but man she rocked the drama! & was my favorite character & the only female lead that I totally fall in love with from the start to the end, the way she spoke , the way she looked , her tears it really took Soe Eun Ki character to another level.
Song Joong Ki, I watched the drama because of him even though I didn't have high expectation about him, but I just love him(Who doesn't?)but he did surprise me & made Kang Maro one of the most complicated yet clear character I've seen, it was amazing how he never make you on his side or against him, you love Song Joong Ki but Kang Maro is a different case where you cant love or hate & that was the best part of the drama, how lovable , adorable Joong Ki actually turned Kang Maro to character that you can actually get angry too & hate.
it was a great great great great drama until the last 10 min of the ending, I think the writer was really influenced by the watchers comments that it kind of ruined the rhythm of the drama !!

There are more happenings in this season as compared to the first. There are more problems and such so it's more interesting. Even so, the story's flow is still as smooth as the first season. It's quite a cliffhanger though, since the real closure of the series is shown in the movie, if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, there may be scenes found in the Taiwanese and Korean (not sure about the Chinese one since I haven't watched it yet) versions that are not showed here, but it's all right.

Oguri Shun's scenes here are many, so his acting skill is more shown here. Matsuda Shota and Abe Tsuyoshi got more screen time, too. For me, it's important that they have their good share of screen time because, after all, their roles are part of F4. I found Kato Natsuki's Shigeru adorable. Anyway, the two leads' chemistry is more evident in this season. They're all actually better in this one.

I loved the music in this season, too! Especially the opening song (again).

If I'd re-watch the first one, of course, I have to re-watch this, too!

This is really good drama. It's worth watching, in my opinion.
Recommended to:
- those who watched the first season, of course!

Where to begin? There were so many things I loved about this drama! I'll try to keep this review brief, but please bear with me if it gets a bit long. Be aware also that minor spoilers may be contained herein, but don't worry no major plot points will be ruined.

A Gentleman's Dignity was an absolute treat to watch!

The mature, adult feel of it was very appealing. I get so tired of all these teeny-boppy tv shows or those dramas in which adults behave like high schoolers. ADG was a refreshing change of pace. It dealt with adult themes in an adult world. The players acted and responded to their circumstances according to their age without resorting, for the most part, to childish theatrics.

While a bit too metrosexual for my taste, the four male leads had wonderful chemistry and played exceptionally well off each other. It was fun to watch their often humourous banter and shenanigans. I loved that they all had unique personalities that set them a part from each other.

I loved the hero's charming, debonair persona. I LOVED how he loved the heroine, from day one. The WAY he went about sweeping her off her feet ... awww. Heart-melting! When it comes to the female leads, my favourite was Se Ra. It was really good to see her develop and grow into a better person. Lead actress Kim Ha Neul's acting wasn't to my taste. It's not that she did a poor job, I just didn't connect with her style. Her character was a bit annoying at times too, though with good reason.

All the ladies portrayed a good balance of independence, strength, vulnerability and self-sufficiency. Sometimes all the hysterical crying -- typical in most K-dramas -- got on my nerves, especially Meahri's, but they were all likable and well-matched to their respective male partner.

I loved that all the lead characters in this show were not cardboard characters. They were well crafted with clearly defined personality positives and negatives. The heroine dealt with some serious emotional baggage which many people will be able to relate to. When I found myself becoming annoyed with her I'm reminded that there's a good reason she behaves the way she does. This lent a certain sense of authenticity to the character.

I don't typically take notice of music in TV dramas or films unless it's truly outstanding. The music in AGD was pretty good. Big Baby Driver provided some beautiful, evocative vocals which enhanced the production value of the show. She has now gained a new follower and I'm pretty sure I'm going to use her music in one or more of my own films.

Yes, AGD was pretty great, but not entirely without fault. As good as most of the story was this drama was just as frustratingly formulaic as all other K-drama. I predicted the unfolding and or the outcome of many scenes long before it happened.

There were a lot of the episodes that felt draggy to me, and some story arcs I wish the writers hadn't pursued. Moreover, I did not care for the small prologues attached to each new episode. While humourous and insightful about how the men became friends I felt they stood in the way of the story taking place in present time. A lot of these scenes, for me, were skipped and I didn't feel like I missed anything.

My biggest, and perhaps only, major complaint about South Korean cinema is how they deal with sex and intimacy between adults on screen. I've yet to see the k-drama in which this is dealt with in a natural, believable, mature fashion.

In most K-dramas I've seen sex/intimacy is the huge pink elephant in the room. Normally it is neither acknowledged nor explored in a way that makes sense. As a working filmmaker, I don't understand why this has to be the case because you can create believable physical intimacy between the actors without them getting naked. It's frustrating to me that the actors must resort to childish antics OR the writers use formulaic tactics like having the phone ring or someone walking in to avoid the issue. To not portray that intimacy when the story calls for it makes otherwise great dramas disappointing for me. Maybe because I'm an artistic purist who believes acting should be naturalistic and not constructed.

With regards to a A Gentleman's Dignity, the lack of intimacy was an issue, but at the same time I have to applaud the makers for not completely shirking the issue. There were some sexual references and the kissing scenes, though few and far between, were pretty good. No brushing of lips here. I especially loved the nightclub kissing scene. Not only did I like seeing the woman take the initiative for once, the ensuing tonsil hockey was off the charts, get-a-room HOT! But way too short .... grrrr! :)

Overall this was an enjoyable drama that dealt with recurring themes of friendship, unrequited love, doing the right thing, getting old and second chances. Great storytelling alongside wonderful performances equals awesome entertainment. There were very few dull moments and there wasn't a character I didn't like.

The ending was great! All the hopeless romantics like myself can rejoice! It will fill your heart and make you smile at the wonder of love.

Will I ever rewatch A Gentleman's Dignity? You betcha!

I have to admit that I haven't read the actual manga, Hana Yori Dango, so I still don't know which of its adaptation stayed true to it. But anyway, I guess that doesn't matter to a lot of viewers. Even if this only has few episodes as compared to the Korean and Taiwanese versions, it still managed to show the solid story. The flow of happenings are smooth. There isn't a dull moment -- or at least for me. The fight scenes might not be as good as the other version, though, but it's still acceptable.

Oh! And it's nice that Nishikado and Akira have their good share of spotlight in the series. The friendship between the four is good to see.

In my opinion, Inoue Mao did a great job portraying Tsukushi Makino. She didn't need to act too cutesy since she's naturally cute. Pretty, even. Her fierce look suits her, too! The four guys did great, too! It's funny to think that the "stupid Domyouji" role fits Jun Matsumoto. Anyway, he and Inoue Mao have chemistry and that's good. I was amused by the fact that Oguri Shun's good at acting like some sleepyhead. In my opinion, the cast is well-selected. All of them did great.

The music is lovable. I especially liked the opening song.

I would definitely want to re-watch this someday.

Overall, I give this a 9 because I really do believe that it's great. I recommend this to:
- people who love rom-com
- people who want to watch a series who isn't too long but is still good
- fans of the manga and anime which go by the same title
- fans of the Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean versions ('cause of the differences made)

*_* - This is exactly how i feel after watching this sixteen episode sitcom. I am absolutely dazed and dazzled by this show. Honestly i didn't have any expectations for this show and the only reason i began watching it is because i didn't have anything to watch. After seeing it my biggest regret was that i hadn't watched it sooner.

I recently finished watching Bridal Mask and was craving a new drama which would get me out of the hangover caused by that amazing show. Surprisingly this happened to be the perfect remedy even though it was of a completely different genre.

Firstly, the story was extremely refreshing and even though it had a few clichés which are ever present in a Korean drama it was never obvious. Throughout the drama the writers always kept us interested about the whole story and nothing seemed predictable. It will compel you to watch the next episode even if you might not want to because it targets the most basic human weakness - CURIOSITY. The flashbacks throughout the show are so beautifully instilled in it that you will never get confused or highly annoyed by them. The direction, editing and storytelling was brilliant. This show is the perfect sitcom with all the comedy and humour(it will never cease to make you laugh) with the backdrop of six high school friends in it however it also has love, friendship, family relations(siblings, parents), heartbreak and even fanatical idol worship.

The acting was amazing. Every actor played their character to perfection and there was never a dull moment watching them play out the different roles through different ages. Every character has amazing chemistry with the other characters, may it be Yoon Je and Shi Won, or Shi Won and Tae Woong and even Yoon Je and Joon Hee. The other actors also did a great job.

Honestly i was so into the drama that i didn't notice the music but the thing i loved the most was the sound of the sheep/goat(not really sure :P ) which was played when any character did/said something foolish and which lead to an embarrassing situation.

I recommend this drama to everyone. Its one of the best dramas i have seen and you will be missing out on it if you don't atleast watch it once. ENJOY ^^

I like medical dramas, so I gave this one a try. Compared to Brain and Bong Dal Hae, this was a mediocre drama. Watchable but nothing special, apart from the fact that I didnt much care for the actors. The medical scenes are not bad, the story is a bit slow, unexciting and predictable. Overall if you a med drama fan give this one a go but dont expect too much.

I don’t know where to start to express my feelings toward this drama, if you’re watching it from the beginning till the end and you will know and understand how I feel. It's a huge big feeling like you want to scream it to the world. You need to watch it”. THIS IS MUST WATCH DRAMA OF THE YEAR.

Overall: Innocent Man or Nice Guy or Chakan Namja is not an ordinary drama you see nowadays, because the leading characters both are smart, not easily be fooled around and they both are having a strong personalities, you will love them no matter how intense and cruel situations they were in. From the very beginning, this drama is having very good pacing, never felt bored or trying to skip it because each scene is too precious to skip it. For a moment I wonder, do we need to sacrifice that much for someone we love? Until the 19th episode, storylines explained why this story was made and executed this way. If really such an innocent nice guy really happens to exist in this real world?

Acting: Song Joong Ki as Kang Ma Roo, I was shocked when I fell for him and his cold staring eyes, how can this cute guy can change my perceptions toward him and he can be so manly just with both of his eyes, he is so talented and flawless in acting, seeking revenge against someone he loves so much, too complicated how he endured mixed feelings, but he never failed to convince me and I believe in him from the first scene till the last ones. Moon Chae Won as Seo Eun Gi also succeeded in portraying a smart, arrogant, and stubborn young lady and the only daughter of the Taesan Group owner. She is an awesome girl who can be in any personality and she did it well, funny thing about her, no matter how rude and harsh she is but I bet you still love her for being bold and strong. Park Si Yeon as Han Jae Hee also did a very good job in acting although I hate her character in this drama she succeeded in being a ‘femme fatale” in this drama. Her character was confusing me from the start, LOL, I tried to understand her but I’m still confused about her true feelings toward others. Supporting roles like Jae Gil the funniest, Choco the warmest, Att Park the shy one, and Att Ahn the mysterious lawyer on earth haha. All mentioned characters did a very good job as supporting lead roles also they have a strong character of their own, their side stories can be scary and cute too.

Music: Suspend weird music, I wonder why they chose this music for a melodrama in the beginning but now I understand and can blend it well with the story and Song Joong Ki’s song, “Really” only one word can describe it. WOW!. I really have no idea this guy can sing really well, his voice is smooth like his face, and sounds so innocent.

Rewatch value: To be honest, I already rewatched it. I did roll back the best scenes from previous episodes while waiting for the finale.

I’ll nominate this drama for TOP 5 dramas in 2012. Hope Innocent man will win a lot of awards because you already owned my heart.

I absolutely LOVED this drama! This was my first Korean drama and now all I want is more.

The story is pretty good, but I have to admit that sometimes the story is a little slow, but overall I really liked it. This show made me laugh, cry and everything in between.

The cast was awesome! Le Min-Ho is amazing...not to mention gorgeous (haha). I feel like the right person was cast for each character and wouldn't change them for anything.

I really loved the music, I have downloaded several of the songs. There were several parts when the music was playing that just filled me with so much emotion and some parts that made me cry (you know if it's a good show if it makes you cry).

I am going to give it a few weeks before I rewatch it again haha! But I would for sure reccomend this drama to anyone, and it's my opinion that everyone should watch this.

I've been watching Korean dramas for a couple of months now and I am more into happy, feel good stories as opposed to the heavy, tear inducing ones. I have to admit I was bugged to watch this drama, although I loved Joong ki in Sunkyunkwan Scandal this being a melodrama loaded with betrayal just seemed too much for me to watch. But like every Korean drama lovers there comes a time when you find yourself left with nothing else to watch so I said "heck, let's give it a try" and I am still so glad I did.

You know when you get bored with a drama that you click on forward to skip some parts and just go to the good ones? I didnt do it for this drama. Each episode will hold you captive and begging for more. The actors were magnificent, I hold Joong Ki's acting with reverence, he was perfect for Kang Ma Roo and this is the only drama where I admired the female lead enough to look for the other drama that she starred in. Chae Won played the role magnificently.

I would have loved to see an episode 24 of this drama though, 20 episodes seemed too short and it made me feel like it was hastily ended.

All in all this is a must watch drama, guaranteed!

Story: The story is just amazing I always compare this to Bridal Mask nothing similar but...these 2 dramas were both really epic. There's a bunch of stuff going on in the story , so can't really explain. There's love, hate, twists and big character changes and surprises during the drama. After the first 3 episodes I garantee everyone that watched past these 3 eps will be hooked!

Acting : I watched it for Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won. Song Joong Ki became one of my all time favorite actor after this. His character has so many sides to it. He's super smart and makes each episode have cliffhangers. His character is dark and deep, but he has a lighter side to him as well.

Moon Chae Won has always been my favorite actress ever since The Princess' Man ...the whole cast just brings together the perfect amount of intensity and emotion. Kwang Soo did an awesome job as a friend here as well as Park Si Yeon.

Music: it's XIAH Junsu and Song Joong Ki of course it's a 10. The opening is pretty epic too.

Rewatch: I hate rewatching but I will watch this again one day

A perfect score?! Why not! None of the cast is my favorite, so why watch it? Only one reason ~ curiosity! The synopsis got me. its an interesting story, I said. Then I started watching and didn't stop...why? every episode got me wanting for more..makes me excited.

Story ~ I never would have ever imagined that the ending would turn out to be as cool as it gets.

Acting ~ I'm now a Kang Maru fan, 100%. I believe each of the cast made a very good job in making the viewers believe them. I'm convinced.

Music ~ honestly, the music is weird in a good way..especially the opening song but its tailored fit whenever needed.

Overall ~ if I have to describe this drama in 3 words: exciting, enchanting and heart-warming.

First of all let`s talk about the story, the actors/actresses and the music:

+++++++Simple Summary, Deep Connections++++++

We all know that dramatic structure consists of exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement/resolution.... but for me each episode was a climax. You know what I mean? Every episode that I watched, i felt the tension, the hatred, the thrill, the excitement, the depression, the frustration, the sadness, the happiness, and the enjoyment, in short super mixed emotion. The suspenseful event happened unpredictably and unexpectedly. oohhh yyeeeaaaahhhh!, I'm hooked. The first thing that come through my mind "oh man, let me see the next episode if my guess was wrong!" then after a week " oh yeah I'm very right, all my guesses were wrong". So I'm thinking behind with confusions dragging my self along with the story till the last episode knowing that i will never guess it right. There are many special things that i liked about this drama but I could not figure out what are those...just see for yourself!

But I am positive that every time I watched this drama I unconsciously following/copying the facial expressions of the characters. Gosh, be aware,ok? others can see you. for example: Whenever I see _******_ angry expression, I grind my teeth, smirk or grin unknowingly that I followed his facial gestures too. Every time _******_ is having a bad time, I frowned or grimaced because I just saw her like that, I felt i was the one who is in her place. That make sense, aye? The portrayal of the characters is felt and not over used in the story. They matured as the story went through (both villain and protagonists). The main characters were kinda extrovert type of person. Limited thoughts and conversations though their dialogues and lines meant a lot beyond simplicity.

I heard intense music when tensions between characters took place. It might be repetitive but it still sounded so suspenseful that I never get irritated after so many times. There was also the song of the main character and that song was used wisely (they played it when KM and EG is involved). So this drama got 10 for me because they deserved it. Very well executed as mentioned from other post.

lol! I liked the fact that the last 3-4 minutes or so of each drama was purposely shown accordingly. When new episode aired, sudden twists occurred. Those 3-4 minutes from the previous episode would showed up again with added scenes in-between that makes the story more interesting. Unlike any other dramas that just continues where it left off.

First Impression Lasts... go for Episode 1
If you were not impressed enough... go for Episode 2
If you are still confused... go for Episode 3
You are not convinced yet?... try Episode 4
Oh come on, try a little harder... watch Episode 5-10
You want more?!...time to follow your instinct.
Not enough effort to watch?!... okay then, skip everything then go for the last episode (ep 20)*if ever the last episode impressed you, you might wanna consider the first episode instead.

I already watched this once so it is enough because i won't be thrilled as much as I was before.
Simple truth: I knew what would happen next, same story line.

Ok. I'm trying to write this calmly and rationally. However, I'm so disappointed that I'm not sure if I can. I know that I will probably be crucified for this review, but here it goes anyway.

The story has been done in tons of dramas, but I think this writer did it with new twists and a lot of mature content. I enjoyed every episode and wasn't sure quite where the writer was going to lead me from week to week. It was exciting and I really did love it. It has all the makings of a great melodrama including love, betrayal, amnesia, murder, attempted murder, etc. The writer's subliminal messages are great. I like it when I have to read between the lines and not just take everything at face value.

Honestly, I thought this drama was great until the last two episodes. Did they change writers??? I don't get it at all. There was this really great tragic drama for 18 episodes then two episodes of filler and a 7 year time jump that just left me cold. I'm not suppose to write spoilers so I can't go into detail. However, Jae Hee's final actions were totally out of character. I don't for one minute find her redeeming or her tears convincing. She is a certifiable nut job. She and crony, Attorney Ahn got off way too easy. Plus, how can they make a woman as smart as Eun Gi not notice...crap, no spoilers. Well, they turned her into a friggin' idiot. The only good part is that Ma Ru doesn't back down and stays true to himself. At least they did that much. I won't even go into how I feel about the ending. I can't with out writing spoilers.

The actors are the reason why this drama was good anyway. Song Joong Ki as Kang Ma Ru floored me. I had no idea that he could play this kind of character. He was so complex and believable. I know he is good looking, but even an actor with the best of looks would have a hard time pulling this character off. He did it all with those eyes. How does he make his eyes warm and cold like that??? It is amazing. Park Si Yeon as Han Jae Hee was also good. She made me dislike that character with a passion. It is a tribute to her acting. She did the ending well also even though the writer changed her character too much. It isn't her fault and she plays twisted to perfection. Moon Chae Won who plays Seo Eun Gi had a hard character to play. She practically had to change from cold to warm so many times in this drama that it is a wonder she knew if she was coming or going. I have seen her in other dramas and I appreciate her acting ability. It was also very nice to see Lee Kwang Soo teamed up with Joong Ki again. He is adorable as Park Jae Gil, Ma Ru's wing man. All the other side actors did a good job also. The acting was NOT lacking!!!

The music was beautiful. Even if you don't watch this drama, you should check out Song Joong Ki's "Really" and JYJ's Junsu's "The Innocent Man".

I won't rewatch this.

Overall, I think that this is a drama that you would enjoy if you like melodramas, which I do. You may love the ending. A lot of people do.
