I just can't with Male Lead
OVERALLGive it a try if you are really tolerant of crappy Male Leads and desperate for a good mystery. If you're not any of the two, skip.
THE STORY
I have to say, the premise of this drama is pretty interesting (and not to mention, very realistic). Female Lead's husband dies and suddenly a whole bunch of problems arise in her life, making her realize that he kept many secrets from her. Although the drama does not make you fall in love with Female Lead, you do feel a bit bad for all that she has to go through. I also got hooked right away trying to figure out what exactly happened in her husband's life and whether he was a good or bad guy. I still want to know, but I had to give this drama up because it's yet another C-drama with a simply insufferable Male Lead. He's mean, rude, disrespectful. I just can't.
Oh, I'm sure they'll find a way to excuse his behavior. My guess is a crappy childhood and trying to get revenge or something. I don't care. I'm sick of Male characters being a-holes and Female leads taking it in (or worse, swooning over it). It's particularly painful to watch here because Female Lead LITERALLY just lost her husband and he's constantly going off on her. So I'm out. If you're like me, save yourself the trouble and skip. If you're not, then go ahead and watch. The suspense is actually pretty good.
THE ACTING
Ok.
THE MUSIC
Ok.
REWATCH VALUE
Null.

Which means this is too bad for my taste
Not my cup of tea
Too boring
Too slow pace
The acting was weird
The main male lead was too cold
May be this is his role
But his face was literally blocked
I couldn't recognise his feelings at all
I really tried hard to go on watching but every time i couldn't pass just more than many other few scenes
It's more about political issues
The romance was at the behind which gave me the feeling it was lukewarm
May be i wasn't at drama mood
But definitely it couldn't capture my attention
I cannot recommend it for sure

Not bad, but...
The series has a good structure overall with respect to the cast and plot so far (as far as an episode 3 goes). But the series is titled Maiden Holmes where one would expect a clever and competent FL. But despite the FL being somewhat intriguing by showing off her capabilities right from the start, once the main ML steps into the picture, she melts into helplessness. It was "somewhat intriguing" because there are also inconsistencies with the solution/results to the initial case results, brushing over much needed details and requesting the audience to just accept the brilliance of the FL.The case inconsistencies can be ignored to a degree but by episode 3, there is already an excessive amount of physical contact scenes between the ML/FL to force feed the beginnings of their romance. Which would also be acceptable if it weren't at the cost of character deterioration as the FL now needs constant rescuing. Additionally, the closeness between the group (i.e. the woman about to be sacrificed) was unrealistically instantaneous. It's a shame because there is a decent amount of chemistry with the actors/actresses.
I would be been pressed to continue watching but after hitting up the reviews and confirming that the FL never ends up redeeming herself, it was a definitive drop for me. Would have give it a lower score but I'm sure this aspect wouldn't bother other viewers as much and the FL character is really my only issue with the series thus far.

Give me vibes of Parasite but more melodramatic and not as Dark
The Story centers around Lee Young Kook, a widower, his family which is a bit complicatedand Pak Dan Dan and her complicated family of 4 (maybe her mother as well who left her)
It is interesting how the Pak Dan Dan father becomes the driver of Lee Young Kook, her step brother becomes boyfriend/lover of the step sister of Lee Young kook. Even the step mother of Park Dan Dan crushes in with her father/ now live in Driver of Lee Young Kook. Similar to a Dark and twisted movie Parasite the family is more or less interacted/ engaged with the household of Lee Young Kook. Though I hope it would not be just as dark
there are plot stories of the children, the family dynamics and how everyone will adjust to the already complicated situation
plus many twist and turns are expected making it more interesting to watch in a span of 50 episodes.
Will love if the villains are made sympathetic yet hatable at the end . Love how Dramas sometimes makes us realize to see their point of view, so that we as viewers know that what they were doing was bad but was still justifiable

A must watch!
A Good Day To Be A Dog is a must watch, as it is living up to the webtoon to start, with the Actors excellently and perfectly bringing the webtoon characters to life. It is a feel good romcom which will make one fall in love with the characters and the story. Cha Eunwoo as Jin Seowon is again a perfect showing of a tsundere role, which he has mastered in delivering, even with dramas he was worked on in the past. He does tsundere like no other actor! His scenes revolving around his character being bullied and how emotional he is about it is heart-tugging. His love for Haena shown on various scenes is also heart warming. Another thing that is commendable about Cha Eunwoo is him bringing 'real' kissing into Kdramaland, with moments leading up to the kiss and the kisses itself which effectively communicate the couple being so much in love; as the script and story intends to convey. Park Gyuyoung as Haena is also such a treat to watch, and she like Cha Eunwoo, brought to life the webtoon character so perfectly. The cute dog and CG of Gaena (Haena as dog) charachter is also well delivered and captured on screen. SeoHae couple chemistry is also 'chemistrying' onscreen and even in the behind the scenes, so viewers like me can't help but root for them. I really love this drama and I find myself always looking forward the Wednesdays when the episodes come out.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Predictable and lost me at the pro-LGBT flashback
3 dudes "isekai" into The Cube... which was a cheap Canadian film from around 20 years ago.Oh no, wait, it's not, The Cube, it's kind of like a cross between Squid Game and that manga where they "isekai" onto rooftops and have to survive.
Okay, so that manga for this was before Squid Game... but many will call it, "Japanese Squid Game" anyway, I'm sure.
So yeah, the 3 dudes take part in games or they'll die, but being in the games means they're most likely to die regardless - it's all kind of pointless but mildly entertaining until it becomes the eventual, Lord of the Flies, that all these kind of things morph into (I mean: COME ON! The Beach was a CRAP BOOK and even worse film, and a total rip off of Lord of the Flies, but then this crap even has a resort everyone stays in that's called, The Beach?!).
And then I dumped it because it offended the Hell out of me that I'm supposed to believe the hottest girl in the whole programme is a "trap" (lady-boy/gender-bender/she-male/faggobot - whatever you want to call them)?
Men in dresses are NOT cool! They certainly don't look like XXX (I won't spoil it by revealing the actress) and Netflix seriously needs to lose its LGBT agenda, which - along with the Cuties fiasco - is the reason they lost almost 50% of their US customers in the first place!

Not what I expected
This show had really good potential, especially the way Netflix advertised it. I came into the show, thinking it would be elite meets pyramid game or penthouse. This show was quite tame compared to those examples. Episode one was the highlight of the show after the first episode, the show started to go downhill. The side characters really stood out to me in terms of acting, but the female lead was lacking compared to the other characters. The show was too focused on the romance aspect, and really could’ve played into the thriller/drama aspect of the show especially the revenge plot. I thought that last episode would recover the show for me and bring my rating up, but it just made me even more disappointed. The post credit scene had me invested more than all the other episodes past episode one. If you go into the show without much expectations, it could be enjoyable for you but overall, I wouldn’t watch it again.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Did not pique any interest in me in any way
The synopsis didn't sound promising: Can 9 years of nothing develop into something more? More than what, sounds the first question. Hundred times zero is still zero... Still, I tried 1 episode of this.About the secretary from this drama's title, whom the ML keeps for 9 years: First time she showed up, I realized it was Kim Na Na. From 'City Hunter'. Don't remember the actual actress' name... About 32 years old, now. Actually older than the lead guy. No wonder that she no longer wants to be all work no play. "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim"? She'd probably like to have a life, now.
Now, we are shown she's such kind of a personal assistant who personally selects a necktie for the guy every morning, and puts it on him, too (that looks kinda husband-and-wifey:) At the beginning, we watch one of those mornings. He seems to be active in being pleased with himself. My, after 9 years, she must be TIRED with him. Yet she never loses her polite smile no matter what he says, and overall seems extremely well adjusted to his ways and never fails to meet his expectations. Her behavior is absolutely flawless, you have to admire her. After first 15 minutes of the runtime, she informs him of her decision to quit.
I must say that as an viewer, I was not even looking forward a possible romance, here. Both ML and FL were of age when most people are already married and/or have a kid, and neither of them was my type so much that I'd be particularly keen on watching their office romance. Actually, the only cast member I was pleased to see was Kang Ki Young, whom I remembered from his previous funny roles. He indeed brings funny moments in here. Else, the first episode consists mainly of the ML trying to find the reason why his secretary wants to leave. In the end, she tells him the truth: something I wrote in my 2nd paragraph. Nothing's wrong with her in the slightest. But, what's up with the boss?:) To be continued...
Episode 2: Kang Ki Young keeps to amuse me and after all, even ML amuses me. It's good that he's such a narcissist. It's funny. Also, he's actually secluded in that, with his secretary being the only woman close to him (he also has some kind of phobia preventing him from skinship with women). Oddly enough, his total self-conceit actually gives him some kind of innocence. It's good that the writer thought of such story, else his interest in bland, couple years older woman would not look believable. Episode 2, secretary Kim is already training her successor. We watch her early flashback when she was a newbie herself. In other words, when she was still human. She had to turn into stone to serve him with such perfection all those years. She in fact would have quit immediatelly, had she not needed to pay off some family debt... Now with that debt finally gone, it is high time for her to become alive again, to LIVE her life, before she's too old for it... Her boss, on the other hand, is in state of barely covered panic, upon losing all the safety & convenience she provides. So, when hearing that she'd like to marry, he proposes to her. When hearing (from his subordinate/only friend) it's needed from him to date her first, he tries to somehow court her. When the whole office goes out for a drink (which itself is questionable: who needs to see their coworker's ugly side when drunk?) he joins, to everyone's poorly covered dismay. During the party, he tries to accommodate secretary Kim clumsily, while everyone around keeps getting drunk. I wondered whether she'll get drunk too, and plainly tell him that she had to sacrifice her best years to him, and how much she now wants to be free from his slavery. She stays sober, though. Merely asks him why did he do everything he usually does not, that night. His response is like it's confirming that he lives on a different planet from her. She learned to cope with that well in work-related matters. But what to do now when he means to get personal? Maybe, it would be better had she got drunk. Instead, they text each other like a pair of teenagers... Resulting in next morning, he addresses her personal rebuke as work-related. He does not understand that she meant those traits unacceptable for her boyfriend to have, not for her boss. Then he tells HER to refrain from speaking of personal matters at work, LOL. Ugh... Anyone wanna date their boss? I'd say it's generally irksome with any personality or situation. Thank god for all these far-fetched drama elements which actually make it somehow bearable. The bottom line of this episode: We were given a couple of hints in the flashbacks. First, when she yelled back at him, he actually responded with respect. Second, she was the one first offering to tie his necktie. He didn't require it from the new secretary...
Episode 3: The boss is trying to be all romantic and takes his chosen one on a date according to her preferences. Turns out, secretary Kim has a totally childish taste (riding a merry-go-round, watching fireworks, receiving stuffed animal) which isn't a good fit neither with the character nor with the 32 year old portraying actress. She doesn't look the same like in 'City Hunter' anymore... Also, that ponytail she keeps wearing at work, it looks like fake hair. Same for Park Seo Joon, he looked cute in 2 years earlier 'Witch's Romance', interesting what difference can 2 years make. His looks remind me of a porcelain doll. Nice, but not very manly... Overall, looking at the main couple, we can see two people who already started aging. So, they don't have that much time for nonsense.
Episode 4: Getting bored... Don't really care whether these two would start to date. Putting this on hold.
Episode 5: After putting the show on ice for 3 months, I watched episodes 4 & 5. And... This show just does not stir any interest in me in any way.

Strong Plot Armor
It was really tough for me to get through the first couple of episodes due to the unrealistic nature of it all. I'm not referring to the time travel plot, but rather the fight/chase scenes. There are scenes where the main characters are being chased by dozens of agents, all armed with guns. You would think that these trained individuals in a secret organization would at least be able to aim, but the main characters have strong plot armor and dodge all the bullets. Even if all the agents are bad shots, the sheer quantity of bullets should at least make the main characters a little more careful. But these chase scenes in the first couple of episodes are full of the main characters running without cover, magically dodging bullets. Especially the car chase scene with the drones, these drones were firing dozens of bullets in mere seconds at the car, and minimal damage was done. The car wasn't really doing any evasive driving, it was an easy target. Yet, the bullets don't hit any person, don't hit a tire, they do nothing. We have to wait until the very end of episode 4 for a single bullet to hit the FL's arm.It was hard for me to enjoy this drama due to the lack of realism and lack of immersion into the drama, ironically not from the time travel plot, but from the poorly executed fight/chase scenes.

I went to watch this drama blindly, and I really think it had the potential to be something great, but the cliché superpower troupe really killed it for me. The main lead's leg magically healed and he magically began stronger (with some training) in one episode, so I just couldn't connect with him. I was seeing him as an underdog, and rooting for him as an underdog, but they molded him out to be a perfect hero, making his previous character that had much more depth diminish in one blow. The storyline was fine, I'm not the biggest fan of action so those scenes were snoozers, and the mystery aspect of the show just wasn't intriguing enough for me to continue watching. I'm a bit disappointed, this was not what I was expecting from the raving reviews.

I can say that i really liked the chemistry between the leads but I really couldn't go on after the 10th episode, yeah, a good plot in general but everything was soooo slow that bored me in really no time.
Is a good drama to watch when there's nothing else or when you want something really light but absolutely not my cup of tea...

Overrated. Teeny-bopper bubblegum comedy
This... is so overrated. At the moment, I couldn't get past ep 10. First, there's the trio of scrawny guys everyone in school seem to fawn over. I didn't believe even once ANYONE would fall for these papier-mache built doofuses. Then there's the wasted potential of Dan Oh. The producers could've taken her cynicism to great comedic heights, but instead she falls into the same tropes she's mocking the "stage" characters over in the first place. People have been saying this show was hilarious - good for them. It wasn't funny for me at all. It was excruciating to watch and I kept holding out to see if it gets better but ultimately decided to just stop. Maybe I'll finish this later but I'll have to watch in small doses.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
failed to meet my expectations
dropped because there was ZERO substance and the female lead was just so unlikeable and unrelatable. so much potential that was unrealized in the premise of the show; to depict two people struggling with their marriage in a society that frowns upon divorce could've been incredibly powerful had it been executed properly. such a shame as i adore kim soo hyun, and have been meaning to enjoy a kim ji won drama.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
