Initially it was pretty enjoyable, however it could have told the story with 16 episodes. The main arch completed around then so as a result the remaining episodes meandered slowly through predictable one dimensional plot devices of "Will They? Won't They?" even though we all already know the answer so you gotta eyeroll your way through repetitive and cringey affirmations of love and loss to the end. Plus the director just rehashed everything that we already saw in You Who Came From the Stars so it didn't feel as fresh.

Great acting by all the main and supporting actors, though, and I do love the juxtaposition with the Joseon period to now. The cinematography during the old scenes were visually stunning and added an extra layer of interest. I think the director learned a lot from YWCFtS and you can tell he stepped up his game for these scenes. The first half is worth a watch just for these scenes.

It drags on way way way too long though.

This show starts off cute and hooks you right away, BUT the recycled trope of tsundere dude and clingy girl is super outdated. I'm not one to whine about culture differences but the lack of feminism in Japan makes this show really hard to watch by mid-season. I went from finding the character Nao absolutely adorable to wanting to shake her silly by the end. No character development at all for either of the main leads. Everything cute and endearing about them in episode 1 fades away by episode 10 and every single moment of drama could be cleared up by 2 lines of communication between them. It's cringey and frustrating and you will hate yourself by how addicted you are to this stupid plot and lame leads.

He would be endearing if there weren't other guys who treat her better. Juxtaposing the main lead against literally ANYONE else makes you really hate him...Not once did I find myself rooting for their love. I had so much hope that she would wisen up and think "this guy sucks! He treats me bad, I am better than this!" which would make a refreshing twist on this tired genre. They signed off for a season 2 so maybe there is hope for a healthier relationship.

I would have dropped this show halfway if it weren't for the lovable secondary characters. They make the show something special, and I would pay good money to see a spinoff show featuring the Ramen guy.

This was the worst thing I've ever watched. Over-exaggerated acting, unbelievable plot, and unlikable main characters. The girl starts off assertive and cool but becomes this passive, weak doormat. Meanwhile the main guy is pretty much a stalker rapist and is really hard to forgive his early actions to root for their love. I can't believe this is held in such high regard. I only watched it because it was on Netflix, but I regret every minute I spent on it.

It is way more enjoyable if you view the whole thing as an IRL recreation of a Sims playthrough, down to the hair and gaudy interiors.

I'm a very harsh critic when it comes to actually reviewing dramas but I have to say this is one of my favorite ones I've seen. While the story and plot is predictable like most dramas and the whole "amnesiac" trope is played to death, this was enjoyable more for all the characters than for the story. Each main and supporting role is delightful to see interact with each other. Most importantly: the love is not abusive and the plot pain points are not based upon lies, deception, or miscommunication. I have no idea why Korea likes to normalize those types of shitty behaviors and relationships but it needs to stop.

No one is cartoonishly evil with no hope of redemption. The main girl is strong and delightful till the very end; she suffers no lack in dimension nor does she become a wet napkin over time. Louis is depicted as painfully spoiled yet never acts like he is superior or entitled; that is super refreshing to see when dealing with rich boy/poor girl love trope. The love and affection they have for each other is innocent, pure, and adorable. Most of the loose ends are tied up nicely at the end. The music added to the scenes perfectly, and often played up for comedy.

Overall, it's not some amazing and unique story BUT the characters are refreshing, hilarious, and endearing and it will be very hard to say goodbye to them at the end.
