i enjoyed the last 3 episodes more than the rest of the drama.

there was a trend this year for almost all the dramas I watched: a lot of potential, lost. and sadly start up was also the case.
production was amazing, it was beautifully filmed and only made me want to visit seoul even more now but half the scenes could have been cut short, a lot silence, a bunch of unnecessary dialogue and moments where characters weren't moving the plot forward made it feel like I watched a 40 episode drama instead of 16.

I wasn't really interested in the romance or love triangle, never had a problem to choose between the two male leads because there was literally no chemistry between Ji Pyeong and Dal Mi and the romance between Dal Mi and Do San did not pull me in, even so it was obvious they should end up together. I was more interested in everyone individual growth, career wise because it's basically the only character development we had.
the Grandma, In Jae and Ji Pyeong were the best characters and I wish In Jae spent more time with her family and not only the miserable 4 minutes they gave us on ep 16. But she was a badass all around and i'd die for her.

one thing I did enjoy was the diversity of female characters from all ages and backgrounds I wish we could have seen more of that. Also the OST was really good.

Saha and Chul san were cute.

overall I wish this drama was more that what it was, I wish I was excited about it and I wished I cared about the characters but mostly I was just skipping fillers to get to the "good moments" and the potential it had was lost trying to drag us into an unnecessary love triangle.

I don't have much to say about this one tbh.

I cry in every episode.

I finally watched this drama so many people recommended me ... I don’t know if I should say thank you or fuck you.
Because there wasn’t a single episode where I didn’t cry but I couldn't stop watching. Jesus Christ, where do I start?

if you’re looking for romance and drama cliche don’t watch this ... if you’re looking for a heartwarming story that will make you cry both from happiness and sadness go for it. Even when I said I cried in every episode I don't consider this a sad drama but would call it an emotional piece of life story that talks about love, family, happiness, grief, loss, making hard decisions, and how those might lead to an end, the complexity of feelings around death, not knowing what others are going through and that desperate feeling of not being able to help the people we love... there's a lot this show unpack.

in every episode, we follow Han Geu Ru, an autistic 20 years old who, next to his dad, runs a trauma cleaning company called "move to heaven" where they basically clean the belongings of people that pass away. In every cleaning, we learn about respecting the deceased and how even in death we leave messages and stories behind that speak for us, Geu Ru always tried his best to give everyone peace and closure which I think it's the best part of this drama. When his father dies Geu Ru needs to live and run the business with his uncle and step by step they get closer and break each other's walls to become a family. I loved seeing them together.

I can't speak on the autistic representation but I'd love to listen to the insight of any autistic person that watched the show.

overall: great characters, productions again Netflix is an aesthetic hoe and the strongest part of the show (for me) is the way every episode finds a way to pierce into your heart, hit so close home somehow and see everyone in move to heaven trying to help to give peace to someone gave me peace as well.

a lot of wasted potential.

[[Overall opinion]]

This is a coming of age drama with a great cast, promising plot and nice aesthetic. It portrays the lives of people in their 20s as they navigate through love, success, failure and family. The drama really touches important and moving topics, I found the romance cute and adorable and we get to see an emotional, thoughtful and mature male lead which is sadly rare. Nevertheless in the second half things started getting too complicated for the sake of pulling clichés and tropes, plots were dragged for too long, some characters lacked depth and the female lead was treat poorly. I still liked this drama a lot but I was hoping so much more of it especially for the female lead.

{{SPOILERS}}

Jinu and heena’s relationship and the way it ended was also a yes for me: just like jinu said they didn’t have enough power to go against their realities, both of them were just starting their own paths and the distance between their realities was too wide, and just like jinu said again, they could meet again in the future which I truly hope so.

I love the contrast between hye joon’s and hae hyo’s parents and how they supported (or not) each their child’s dreams. Hye joon’s dad development was great: I could totally see where he was coming from basically reflecting how he felt towards his dad onto his son, which is not okay but I can understand, at the end he comes around and is kind of awkward but he was trying and when you’re an adult your relationship with your parents is also weird at times. I loved the grandpa and the manager they were really cute and supportive.
My main problem was Jeong Ha, not her character itself but the way she was “developed” She was supposed to have this complicated relationship with her parents but we don’t see much of that or how she comes around it, we only see Jeongha’s dad when she needs the money for the salon and even when the scene where he kneels was touching it wasn’t enough. Jeong Ha’s mom is the reason she doesn’t want to depend on anyone and we kind of see why on the 2 times the mom came on screen but that’s it. They left her life to the side and revolve her mostly around the two male leads, when there so much we could see of her fighting to get a name in the industry and healing her own wounds not using her salon as a prop to meet with hye joon and hae hyo.
Sad.
At the end we see her having a career and all, but on the contrast to hyee joon who the entire drama focused on giving us his story they could at least give her an episode centered on her. AT LEAST.
I agree with the breakup, I wasn’t even sad, jeongha did the right thing her career was just starting and if they went public everyone would be after her, even her mom as we could see, people would call her a gold digger, they would demised her work, celebrities might not want to work with her to not be involve in scandals and she would most likely be harassed, just look and how bad she had it at the salon, their relationship was not in good shape either: they kept apologizing, hiding their feelings to protect the other and that led into feeling guilty and lonely.
Now hae hyo , my boy you were so plain: he had so much potential to be so much more but again it was wasted, the only moments where he shined the most were when he stood for his mom but that was what? 2 scenes? The rest it felt like he was just a backup dancer on hyee joon’s musical.
the Charlie jung plot lasted way too long for my taste. I have read some people asking for a season 2, honestly I don’t see it necessary I feel the way they ended was enough and I doubt they can fix what I don’t like in a season 2.

have to be in the mood to enjoy

if you’re looking for excitement. this is not the drama for you. now if you’re looking for something soft go for it. this is a piece of life drama centered around movies, don’t let the title fool you sports kinda go to the side but they still play a part. the story is focused on the characters individual growth and how that affects their relationships so there’s not a plot we just tag along, the chemistry between the main couple is very natural and easy-going there were scenes where it felt as if they weren’t acting but the one that takes the cake is dan-ah and Yeong-Hwa they were the best I scream every time they appeared.

topics like sexual orientation, parental neglect, and depression are talked about and are always refreshing seeing more diverse stories being told in kdramas nowadays even if they give baby steps.

I don’t think this is a boring drama as some people had said but you have to be into soft, puppy love, piece of life, calm kinda vibe or in the mood for. production was amazing Netflix makes aesthetic dramas, it was so pretty to see.

the one thing I didn’t really like was seong-yeom’s dad not only his entire attitude because he was annoying but the scene where they talked about the lake I wanted to know what they said, I want him to finally say to his dad all he felt and I wish the whole family would have come up at that moment and kinda express all they felt through those years because we do see that at the end the dad regrets his decisions and wants to make up for it (at least has the intention to).

spoilers: one thing I did like a lot is when Dan-Ah apologized to Yeong-Hwa’s friend for confronting him about liking Yeong-Hwa and also “coming out” just to not get married and get away when he and a lot of more people live in fear to be who they are, especially in Korea. it shows how much dan-ah’s character grows.

the most realistic kdrama i've seen

I’ll be honest, this drama is not for everyone. We follow the lives of 4 friends who take us through the ups and downs of being a young adult nowadays. We see them struggle again and again against the pressure of their parents, society and themselves, we see them battle with their traumas and fears, trying to figure out what they want and how to balance life and career which is something our generation often thinks it overlaps but with these girls we see how important is to set boundaries and to remember this is our first time living, even if you’re 22 or 89 this is our first life and we’re all kind of swinging and seeing how it goes.
One of the great things is how the story is told, we kind of see a lot scenes twice from different perspectives and that really helps the viewer to understand the four girls a lot better and is something to also remember in real life how the way people react is most likely related to what’s happening in their life and has nothing to do with us. One of the characters struggles with her own sexual orientation which I think is worth noting because is not very common to see a queer character in kdramas being portrayed as complex human being with more to her that just being gay or being a joke if we even get too see one and one of her greatest lines was “why should one make excuses for who you are.” Nevertheless all the girls were complex characters and each one of their stories even when different connected very well.
I feel like if you’re in your 20s (like me) you’ll feel really related with this drama to the point of feeling a little exposed.
I do feel, even when the drama is only 8 episodes long, the story was kind of slow and it doesn’t have any of the normal plot devices and tropes in kdramas we might be used to which is not a bad thing but I think is worth knowing before watching.

this drama is a dopamine shot

this drama is sweet, cute and beautiful.
if you think you can't get attached to a story for only two episodes YOUR'RE WRONG all the characters were so sweet, except aileen but she's irrelevant. Kim Sung Chul does such a great job his character is sweet and goofy and honestly a truly nice guy who is thoughtful, patient, funny and truly truly only wants the best for the girl he likes. definitely watch if you're into puppy love. Chae Yeon's visuals in this drama were out of this world how can one not fall for this girl? and I loved how at the end she stood for herself and decided to go her own way.
the little sister is the glue that ties the whole drama together, such an adorable and supportive yet clever and mature little girl gave a nice contrast to her awkward and shy older brother.
of course as it is only 2 episodes we don't go to into deep the struggles or lives of our characters but I believe this story could easily become a 16 episodes drama and even as it is the writer did a good job at showing the main couple personalities and their "mission" inside the story.
THE BEST PART: the OST just made this drama 10x better, Sung Chul's voice is so sweet I'd love him to sing me to sleep (i might be in love with him now)
overall it's a cute casual watch if you're in need of an easy story to follow with lovely characters.

anyways Siri play tiramisu cake.
