As a newbie to BL during the pandemic, this was one of the first I watched. Thought it was so-so at the time but have just completed a re-watch in anticipation of watching the Korean remake. I have to say that my opinions on a few things changed since the first watch. Firstly, having become a lot more familiar with the tropes, the ‘I’m living in a Yaoi novel’ premise was a lot funnier this time around. I loved Zon and Saifah and so it was really sad that half their story was originally missing but the later specials filled in some of those gaps.

I’m really sorry but I just couldn’t bear watching a lot of the scenes with Zee and Saint this time round. I felt like I was betraying Nunew ??? and their chemistry just didn’t compare with ZeeNunew. The NC scenes didn’t feel hot to me. Open mouthed but ‘dry’ kisses, run some kisses up and down neck and torso, flip over, repeat. Tommy and Jimmy delivered a couple of tears in their scene and made me cry and feel all the feels.

Great to see so many of the actors I now recognise so well but overall bar has been raised quite a lot since this was first aired. Eighth Sense and Only Friends being a couple of excellent examples!!
