Continued watching for the story
Dropped the series at Episode 30, didn't like the poor CGI. Jumped back on after a spell, wanting wuxia. Cast is good. The plot involves the older generation and the veteran actors really did well supporting the young actors. The love chemistry between the main roles didn't strike much emotions for me. Loving chemistry between Xiao Fan's faction parents, yes. Chemistry between Xiao Fan and Bi Yao, no. Didn't feel the chemistry, no tears shed, no heart strings pulled. Unfortunate. I thought the storyline was good. All the mini plots giving significance to the main plot of the story. Story was solid to the end. Screechy music selection. Why. For the emotional scenes, for the excited scene, for suspense, for all the scene, even the ending song. Had they been limited to the song choices with smaller budget as they had with the production? Or is the the direction? Music failing the drama. The cast kept the story interesting though.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Youth-like adventure drama without the usual tackiness in its genre
Well written drama. It may be a recycled story plot of youths going on mini adventures heading for the grand plot but, it is a well rounded drama production. Plot is set for pack full of events. Of the group, of course the stand out is the main character played by Zhang Xin Cheng. Naturally plays out his smart witted character Yuan Zhong Xin. Putting the unanimated Wang Kuan as his best mate plays well to highlight Zhong Xin’s endearing playfulness. Plenty of humour that'll interrupt what one would usually be anticipating a sad turn of events for most dramas of this genre. Particularly thought the instrumental music selection sets the right mood for the scenes. For this genre of youth-like adventure drama, its a pleasing quality drama in its category. Yes the music selection is the most distracting in the very beginning. Had to check if my other browser was playing another video in the background. That intended music drowning their voices combined with the natural lighting is captivatingly different. Loved the making of all their shared moments with the selected music. It is a beautiful way to tell a story. Refreshingly different. When the pauses and stares are too long, fast forward because you'll want to know how what she/he'll do next. Captured my attention from the beginning with the original lines. Good strong female lead actress whose probably the main reason for a captivating drama to follow even though the storyline isn't new. It's refreshing seeing the female lead relationship. Loved the supporting male actor's character more than the main lead. The poignant main theme is the divide that comes between them that is more than their own efforts; the divided countries. It tears the heart because the 38th parallel is not fiction.
