I am a huge reader. I love books. I love collecting book. I love the smell of books. I love going to bookstores. And as a bookworm who also happen to love watching K-dramas, this is everything. I mean it.

Romance Is A Bonus Book is really well-written K-drama complemented with amazing casts. This one has put me into a state of emotional mess. It had me feel so sad and yet made me laugh. It got me curious, and it gave me answers. It didn't have any unnecessary plot-twists that can potentially lead to a dragging development. It has a rather simple storyline but I think it's how the writers really want it. It is very heartwarming,

The casts are EXCEPTIONAL. All the crying scenes are just daebak! They are also effectively funny (or at least for me). There are many supporting characters given the setting of the story, but the important ones had their time to rightfully shine and have their own stories and character developments. The production did a great job in choosing these casts.

As a bookworm myself, and someone who is also personally related to book publishers to some extent, I just want to express my massive appreciation to the producers for not making the "romance" overshadow everything else. In fact, rather than the romance, I think I paid more attention to the message about books. The will to express the passion of the people behind the books we read, the essence of creating books, the references made about books in correlation to the characters' life experiences. I just love everything! And I learned a lot about the behind the scenes of book publishing — the editorial part, the printing and marketing. Ah, really AMAZING!

Not only that — the way they approached and tackled different sensitive topics like mental illness, marriage and divorce, was stellar! I watched these parts with heavy heart because they felt so real. ALSO, mad props for showing a positive representation of the LGBT community. Although it was rather short, it wasn't forced, it was just there so casually, so subtle, so right!

I haven't gushed over K-drama in a while. Romance is A Bonus Book is definitely going to my "All-time Fave K-drama list". Totally recommending this to my bookish friends!

"The moon is beautiful." — I love this.

I watched this because of Janice Wu since I became a fan of her since Le Coup de Foudre. And as expected of her and her great acting skills, she didn't disappoint.

But given Janice's expected performance, Steven Zhang also caught my attention. Zhang was just as natural. The chemistry between the two leads is so good and refreshing.

To be honest, there's nothing special with the story (or at least for me). I'd say, it's your usual moderm c-drama formula:
- Stupid FL (not so much here though lol)
- Superior ML (in everything: looks, intelligence, popularity, etc)
- Childhood friends who lost touch with each other
- Breakup scene somewhere in the middle just to ruin a pretty good story (which I loathe on every drama honestly like wtf)

What made this interesting for me is the sports elements. I love how the story didn't just focus on the "romantic element" but it rather gave nice touches and highlights on the ice sport parts.

The only downside for me is that I think the supporting couples have way too much scenes than the leads, which I find unnecessary sometimes. Don't get me wrong. I really liked the supporting characters overall, but there are scenes that I think aren't really needed (probably unpopular opinion lol). I think this could have been compressed into 30-35 episodes for that matter.

But overall, Skate Into Love is an enjoyable lighthearted and fluff c-drama. With Janice Wu and Steven Zhang in it, you won't regret watching it. Very cute!

I've been looking for a feel good drama lately, but I haven't been enjoying the ones I'm trying until I stumbled upon Put Your Head on My Shoulder. To be honest, the synopsis kind of threw me off because it sounds very basic and cliche, and it reminds me exactly of Good Morning Call.

So, what made me watch this?

I scanned from the comment section for some affirmation, because I'm also not the type to just easily ignore a cute drama poster. Lol. Good thing I did, because the top comments ALL only have nice words about this. So, I tried to watch it. And yup! Don't get thrown off by the synopsis. It is totally different from the other dramas that has cohabitation concept.

And while the story is indeed still very basic, the chemistry and acting of the actors as well as their characters' personalities makes the whole environment more refreshing. The main guy is your classic high-IQ pretty face boy next door. But unlike the other ones who always act superior (and let's be honest — a bit asshole) over the lead girl, Gu Wei Yi here was never an asshole towards Si Tu Mo — the main girl. He always try to understand Mo Mo and was always very gentle with her.

Si Tu Mo on the other hand is a pretty level headed character considering the nature of the story. She was never the "chasing-the-guy" type of character as it always have been for others. Don't get me wrong! There's nothing wrong with going after the guy, but I just find Mo Mo's overall personality rather refreshing. She's like Bei Wei Wei of Love O2o but much more interesting and with more emotions.

Wei Yi and Mo Mo are VERY ADORABLE. You can't help but smile while watching them. The comedic nature is also a plus point. If you love A Love So Beautiful and Love O2o, you'd definitely fall for this one as well. I'd say that this is like a fusion of those two c-dramas. Put Your Head on My Shoulder is very light and feel good, nothing too heavy. A good drama to watch if you want to give yourself a nice positive break.
