The acting was phenomenal. By the time I got to the last episode, I actually had to remind myself that the lead actress wasn't really experiencing the disease. I think stories like this are really hard to do without overacting in some way. I don't have any prior knowledge of what Aya had, but the portrayal was so well done that I never even though to question it. The rest of the family did a great job to in that they dealt with their grief in a realistic way.
The music really kept the tone. It fit so well with the story and never once took away from a scene. I think if I ever hear any of these songs again I'll probably start to cry.
I don't know if I could re-watch this. Maybe in a couple years or so? The story is so powerful and so incredibly heart wrenching that I don't think I could handle it again any time soon.
I'm sure that the show is quickly loosing appeal do to all this mentioning of crying (not just my review, but everyone else's too). So if you're looking for a lighthearted, feel-good romcom, this is not for you. Watch it when you're ready, and looking for some perspective, courage, or strength.

The characters are so lovable (seriously, this has got to be the best bromance EVER) and the leading lady is wonderful. She isn't stupid or annoying. The actors do such a great job with these characters.
Another great thing about this show is that they don't drag out conflicts. You know how some dramas take one conflict and stretch it out for , like, 6 episodes? And the conflict could (and should) have been solve in 2? Yeah, this show doesn't do that. It's great!
If you're looking for something to stir your heart and remember what its like to be young, please watch this.

The story is so cute. I like that the progression of the relationships made sense (for the most part). It was fun to watch, and I never once felt the need to chuck my computer into a wall. Its not the most thrilling of plot lines, but that's what action movies/dramas are for, right?
The acting is really good. No complaints from me. So, I may now have a HUGE crush on Yamashita Tomohisa now - seriously. SERIOUSLY. And I didn't realize when I started this show, but this is the same lead actress from Paradise Kiss. I loved her in that! She's so awesome!
The music is so catchy. What is up with all these J-dramas and their ridiculously catchy OSTs? It fit the tone of the drama so well and really gave it a "fun and energized" feel.
I could definitely rewatch this. Seriously, its so light-hearted and fun (which is kind of a relief in this sea-of-tears known as dramaland)
If you want a cute, fun, smile-inducing, well-made drama, this is the one for you! (plus all those bathtub scenes...sizzle'n...)

The visuals are stunning and the fight scenes were so awesome! They did a great job at converting the epic nature of fight scenes into live-action. I was totally swept up in the action despite knowing this story like the back of my hand.
What really carried this for me were the actors. They did such a great job capturing who the characters are in the manga/anime. They really did them justice. I was worried that Kenshin wouldn't be as awesome, Kaoru would be super obnoxious (which always seems to happen to the female leads), or that Sano/Yahiko/Megumi would barely make appearances. But they were all accurately portrayed. I may have fallen in love with Kenshin all over again!!
The only ciritism I have is the story line they choose. The manga/anime is pretty long and have lots of awesome villains and sub-plots to choose from. But this a completely subjective opinion and they carried this part of the story beautifully. And - who knows? Maybe they'll make more movies that follow the rest of the manga? (please? pretty please?)
