Watch once, for the performances

Quite a short and simple film, that starts rather abruptly.
Everyone brought their A-game for this one and there's definitely some scenes that would be Oscar-worthy. Depressing ending, with well-done performances throughout. Not for the faint of heart, this occasionally disconcerting film will leave you with a few questions.
I enjoy dark, cerebral films. This one was more heady without being mentally taxing; rather it was an emotional gauntlet.
I would recommend is you like stunning direction, won't mind the sex scenes, and can handle questions about crossing the lines. Forget about social norms, hahaha.

Hot or not, you decide!

Warning: there is nudity, there is sex, and there is a lot of sweat.

This is an erotic romance between an older woman and a younger male (still in what looks like high school). The older woman needs some inspiration for her music and she finds a muse in this curious, young flower to pluck. She is the initiator in their relationship, the more impressive of our actors, and the principal reason to keep watching.
There's not a lot of story happening here, but a physical-based romance. A few tender / sweet moments, showing affection and intimacy, between Noona and our leading gent got me over the hump of calling this a mere pleasure fest. At the same time, there are a few scenes where the female lead is just on camera half-naked, then goes on the attack towards our male lead.

Only major gripe is the male lead is shown as cuddly and innocent for a longer than necessary.
A few items of Unexpected praise:
- Apart from the elevator make-out scene, it's staged really well. Lightning, her apartment, camera angles; all looking good.
- I rated the acting highly because you believe that these two are into each other. In many drama films, it's a functional surprise that the leads have feelings for each other when none of it was felt by the audience. Or worse yet, when the controlling woman character treats the younger male as a sex puppet. Neither is the case here. She digs him, despite his age, and he's into her; rightly so, might I add, because she's gorgeous, fun, and good to him.
- Character progression! Some actual maturing happens and our characters learn (some of) what they value in life.

Final thoughts:
I wouldn't go out of my way to watch this again.
It's a bit too shallow to be readily rewatchable. Exception being it may be light enough to watch with your significant other to get into the mood. The length of the film helps on the latter front.

Alternative watching experiences:
If you want an emotional rollercoaster that can get hot and heavy, try
- "Secrets, Objects" (emotion over physical) or
- "Innocent Crush" (physical over emotional).

If you want something sweeter on the heart try
- "My Little Bride" where the age gap is smaller and roles are reversed)
- "Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy", a drama series with the same roles

For something completely different try
- "Women who Flirt", for a Chinese drama film with next to no physicality (between the leads), while being funny, sweet, and really self-aware.

A movie for adults

Though not necessarily an "adult" movie. This a movie about grown women going through grown women struggles: misogynistic peers, romantic life when all you've been is a housewife, figuring out sexual fulfilment for both partners in a marriage. Real problems that people face. Add in courtship with a younger man, illness, struggling to find beauty in yourself, and you've got a film that's simply for a more mature audience.
All the characters go on their journeys, in a way that doesn't feel crowded (a common problem with these ensemble films) and is believable. Our romances hit actual hiccups that you've heard about, and we see a few that some would be mortified to share.
This movie was worth the time investment.

If you haven't seen it and the above might be relatable or appreciated in your entertainment, read no more. Just watch it.
If you haven't experienced any of the above, you might want to give it a try - it's good to see the world through someone else's shoes.
Readily recommended. There are _many_ worse films to watch in this genre.

Enjoyable, but...

DISCLAIMER:
In my reviews 5/10 means "mediocre", 3/10 is "bad", 7 is "good", 9 is "excellent / exemplary", 10 is "if they category matters to you, WATCH THIS"

I care a lot about endings because great endings are correlated with being a great show. I watched this show quickly, years ago, but found it forgettable. Nothing really made an impression on me. Especially the ending, which lacked punch to make up for the dry spell (of not much going on) in the last several episodes.
Most everyone does an excellent job with performances. I loved how pre-marital sex in relationships wasn't spoken of in hushed tones but causal as it is for much of the developed world. I liked the male lead more than the female lead, for no particular reason.

Reading the other reviews, it might be rewatchable, but I can't say for certain. I'm able to rattle off a list of 5-10 drama at a given time that I would recommend watching and I never remember that I watched this show until I check MDL.
I think that says everything right there.

Really, this show makes me curious for the production around it. Something that started engaging and relatable just wandered off and took my interest with it. Where'd _that_ show go?
