I am going to try to keep this short, because I feel like no one wants to see this much critique towards a drama that 99% of people seem to have liked . If you haven't noticed already, I am in the 1% of white crows.

When I start watching a drama with such high ratings and reviews calling it a masterpiece I try to fight of the hipe as much as I can but I still started watching Love me if you dare with a mindset of 'this is going to be good' and oh boy was I disappointed.

The drama started of strong with a badass female lead and a mysteriously intriguing male lead, but it all went downhill from there.

The STORY, while still not the best, was pretty interesting up until like 15 ep and then it just hit a rock bottom. It felt like the writers were trying sooo hard to be unique, to surprise us but it just didn't work for me, everything felt really forced. All the plot twists were kind of bleh. The romance was mature in a really boring way there was only one scene where I felt some kind of chemistry between Jin Yan and Jian Yao. Oh and don't even get me started on Jin Yan's investigation methods, you might as well label this as a Sci-Fi drama, because he came to conclusions and found out things out of nowhere (not everytime but I could name a few...) The story wasn't the worst thing, but certainly wasn't good it just didn't do anything for me, I never felt my heart racing, It didn't give me any questions to think about...

The CHARACTERS for the most part were so boring. I could not relate to them at all. Bo Jin Yan with some exceptions seemed emotionless. Sure you could say that he showed many emotions but to me he never looked human, in the end I was annoyed by the fact that he was so perfect. I wanted him to make a mistake, I wanted him to just loose his shit, because that is what I love about episodic shows, I can watch characters grow, I can see them fall and get back up again but that never happened. Maybe I am the only one who was disappointed, I saw that most people seemed to like his alien like persona but throughout the whole drama I didn't get attached to him, nor Jian Yao who went from badass to an accessory and for me dramas are all about getting attached. The only character I liked was Fu Zi Yu, he was fun, smart, freaking human like.

I think I could go on and on explaining why I think this drama is not worth the praise but despite all that I still encourage to watch Love me if you dare, because you will probably enjoy it considering the fact that I am picky as hell.

This drama is like a gem in a pile of trash. And no, I am not saying that dramas around it are garbage. Marriage, Not Dating is both the pile of trash and the gem in it.

The story is as cliche as it gets. Marriage contracts, evil mothers, ex girlfriends and second male leads, this drama has everything! While that doesn't necessarily make it bad, in this case it did. Both the second male and female leads were annoying and hard to understand, the writers failed to make them even a tiny bit relatable, they just threw their backround stories on us saying "Here! That's what you want, right?". Both of them felt superficial and God do I hate people who smile all the time like Yeo Reum did. Since it doesn't really have a story, then It's automatically aiming to be a character driven drama, but they failed to costruct good characters. The last 3-4 episodes redeemed a lot of the drama by giving some character development to Jang Mi's parents and Gi Tae's mother, the way they handeled her character was easily the best part of this drama. The two main leads were cliche. A clumsy, no good female lead who's driven by her feelings and a rude main male lead who becomes nice by the end because love(?). Both of them only got sappy developments which is fine I guess.

Now the gem of this drama was the atmosphere, the way they handeled the comedy and mood shifts. It's so hard to do, yet they managed to do such a good job at it a scene could be both funny and heart wrenching and only God knows how they managed to pull it off. That's why I still managed to enjoy this drama. The main characters, even if not the most original, were fun to observe, because of the comedic situations they got themselves into and the way the writers handeled them.

The soundtrack was catchy, too. The way they used the "Bridal Chorus" was very creative. All the songs could totaly stand on their own.

This could have been really good, but it just wasn't and I am not seeing what other people did. While the gem shines brightly I just can't ignore the trash around it thus I would only recommend this drama if you have nothing else to watch and want a few laughs.

I picked up this drama, because I wanted something light and fluffy. My Little Lover isn't anything mind blowing but it is sooo enjoyable. I was surprised myself at how much i liked this drama, because I am super picky. I am going to briefly introduce the pros and cons of this show.

Advantages:
*The cast. Actors in this drama are very young and their acting skills aren't magnificent but they are more than good and the fact that the characters and actors ages mach which is rare makes it more realistic.
*Nakagawa Taishi's acting skills are pretty good but there were some moments where I just wanted to clap, because he expressed the emotions perfectly. Actors in KDramas are always like angels fallen from the sky, unrealistically beautiful, but Minami was like a cute classmate, still very handsome, but more relatable, more human. His character was realistic and just so close to heart.
*Horikiri is a character that actually has some personality. Only after watching this drama did I notice that in a lot of dramas the main female lead has no hobby, nothing she likes and it just feels like the girl exists so she could create a romantic relationship with the main female lead. Chiyomi Horikiri is a character that has actual hobbies, ambitions like a real human being.
*The supporting roles weren't left out. Sure they couldn't get a lot of screen time, because the show is short, but every character had at least one scene where they personality developed.
*Pleasantly surprised that I didn't hate the second girl who was trying to get Minami's heart, Nomura. Sure she was a little bit bitchy, but never did I hate her, actually I kind of liked her.
*In the aspect that the main character lead is shrunk down to a tiny person the story is pretty original.
*That one kissing scene that made my heart beat like crazy. You'll know what I am talking about when you watch this drama. That's why i love JDrama's, because the kissing scenes actually have some feelings of intimacy.
*It isn't supposed to be a comedy, but the situations the main characters got themselves into were just so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh. And be prepared for a lot of embarrassing moments. I can't even count how many times I had to pause an episode and do something else, because I just couldn't handle the embarrassment. Some might think that this is a flaw, but for me it was a plus. This drama made me feel with the characters.
*Some people thought that it was draggy. Well i didn't. I hate when dramas get dragged on for too log and that happens way to often but this drama was so short it had no time to get draggy.
*The opening song <3
*No unneccessary and stupid drama.
*It is so freaking relatable. Since my native language isn't English it is hard for me to express myself and I don't know if i am using the right words, but uhhh this show even with the fantasy element was more realistic than any KDrama i have ever watched. Maybe because I am in high school myself, but My Little Lover just hit the right spot in my heart for me.

Disadvantages:
*Some times the acting is kind of weird, but I feel like it's just the Japanese style.
*Besides the fact that our main lead is a tiny person, the story is not that original.
*Riku Takagi was kind of creepy. :D
*Sometimes it felt like the drama itself didn't know if the scene is supposed to be funny or serious, because I laughed a lot of times when serious music was playing in the background. Maybe I just have a weird sense of humour wich I dont think I do or it could be that the Japanese are the masters of sarcasm.

While writing the advantages the things that I liked came to my mind in a second, but when I had to write the disadvantages I really had to think for a minute so I want you to know that these "disadvantages" didn't really bother me while I was watching the show.

Overall:
I have no idea why I liked My Little Lover so much. Might be because I am a girl in her teens that just likes cheesy rom-coms. But you know I gave Full House (Thai), which is known for its cuteness, a 6, so I don't think that is the case. I don't really care if this show is cliche, because it is a really well done cliche. And If you are looking for something cute and fluffy look no further.

It's been a while since I have felt so much hate for a main character. Arrogant male leads in Korean dramas are everywhere and generaly I don't mind them, I quiet like them actually, because most of the time in the end their "arrogant" attitude is exagerated and underneath all of that, they're good people. But the description of this drama really isn't lying "Se-Gun is handsome and confident, but very vain and shallow".

The STORY here, of course, isn't anything original but it just screams fun! Comedy, romance and a cliche moral about beauty is really all we need to relax after a hard day and it really kind of had all that, but...

The CHARACTERS, especially the main male lead, were unlikable and that's an understatement in some cases. Se Gun is a shallow douche that only cares about looks. He's fine with everything about a girl as long as she's pretty. Sure, by the end he falls in love with the "ugly" (NOT!) girl and magically becomes a better person and a better character with some sappy development driven by, of course, a sad past. Now to begin with Se Gun's character isn't exactly the worst, they just handeled this type of male lead very badly, exagerating his flaws to the maximum and making him seem like the vainest person ever. Were this a full lenght drama I would have dropped it solely because of him. The female lead wasn't exactly a treat either. Her motivation for liking the main lead was the same - she claims to like beautiful things. The difference is that she just wasn't really a bitch about it...I don't know if that makes it okay though. Not to mention the fact that she had little to no self respect which I can kind of overlook as just a character trait but be warned.

90% of the cute moments in this drama were torture, because they were fake! While Nan Hee had her ring on, everytime something nice happened it was extremely bitter sweet because the writers just had to make sure that you know that Se Gun is only dating her because of her looks! I just could not overlook it, especially when the second love interest for our female lead was 10 times better than this jerk.

Sure the ending was cute as hell and I'm very into this "inner beauty matters the most" moral that I could almost overlook everything that's bad about this drama but I just can't, I won't even let myself! As a woman I respect myself too much to see such chararter as Se Gun be romanticised and justified. He even blamed everything on Nan Hee...*sigh* I just can't

Didn't notice anything horrible about the acting. Not a fan of So Hee's acting though. Happy that Seul Gi finally got a main role, sad that it had to be this drama. Don't remember anything about the music. The cinematography was as unintresting as ever.

There is absolutely nothing about this drama that's worth your time, you can look at a screenshot of the beauty that is Hyo Seop and you would have seen everyting good about this drama. Maybe...maybe if you're easily pleased then you will enjoy it but I really don't recommend it.

I had pretty high expectations for this because from what I gathered JDramas tend to be better than Korean ones because they keep them moderately short and nothing is as bad as a story that drags and becomes boring as hell. And well it was short, it didn't get much time to get boring but it did not fulfill my expectations.

The STORY is as cliche as you would expect from the premise. At first I thought that they would focus more on the culinary themes they present to us at first but don't be fooled the romance quickly steals the spotlight which was disappointing.
Honestly I am surprised that this is not an adaptation of some sorts because it is really shoujo manga-ish.
At first I was fine with the story, because at the time they really focused on the food making and Misaki's struggle to get along with the chef. Cliche but enjoyable.
Then followed some drama that wasn't annoying but my attachement to the characters was lacking so I really had to force myself to care about what was going on.
But somewhere in the last third of the drama the story just became ridiculous. One unnecessary misunderstanding after another. They really lead to basically nowhere and were predictable as well as annoying as hell.

The CHARACTERS are probably the best and the worst part of this drama. Now prepare your forks and torches. I didn't like Kanata's character. I assume most of you know what this term means and if you don't a quick google search will help. He was a prime example of a tsundere. Now at first it was cute and all but God later on I really struggled. Kanata was mean and insensitive, never apologised because the writers made it out to be that he was always right but I didn't feel that way. Even if you were right you still have to apologise for losing your temper am I not right?! Now Yamazaki Kento did a pretty good job at playing this kind of character, he sort of managed to portray the subtle changes of expression to not make it seem like Kanata was a robot. Misaki was pretty cliche (you know the clumsy type) too but I enjoyed the fact that she was somewhat stronger than a lot of female leads I have been seeing recently. Her passion for work was admirable.
Honestly the more I think about it the more I come to a conclusion that all the characters are prototypes created by shoujo writers:
Takana - tsundere.
Misaki - the clumsy type.
Chaki - the kind one in the love triangle.
Kaede - the love rival that is seemingly way better than the main heroin. In this one she was such a tool for the writer that I laughed.
And lastly couple characters for comic relief.
The writers didn't create anything with this one, they just took what someone had already made and mixed it together.

OVERALL it wasn't as bad as I am making it out to be. We are all guilty of loving cliches so why should the writers stop using them. There were quiet a few of momment that I enjoyed despite everything. What ruined this for me was Kanata's character so if you like tsunderes then you will enjoy it way more than I did. But if you're tired of unoriginality then stay away.

I don't think I can put into words how good this drama is. This is probably my first time reviewing a drama that I genuinely thought was worth watching. Sure I have watched a lot of dramas that I enjoyed but my life wouldn't be missing anything if I hadn't watched them however it is a completely different story with Hirugao. This is not just enternainment. This is art.

The story starts out slow and I was kind of bored during the first half of the drama and that is why I didn't give this drama a perfect 10 even though, trust me, after the second half you won't even remember the one time you yawned at the start. While I didn't like that sometimes the writer was about to cross the line with melodramic tendencies but this is by no means a melodrama. It presents itself for the most part with a really realistic fashion. The writer is just telling a story, she's not justifying or judging anyone, just showing us the lifes of these people as they are. By presenting a story about affairs the drama inevitably touched upon so many subjects - the purity and cruelty of human selfishness, the judgemental society we live in, people's lack of empathy, the subjectivity of evil (which I have been thinking about a lot recently) even the meaning of life and so much more. Looking back on it, I can definitely see that they created some subplots and didn't really bother to progress and polish them, but honestly I am just nitpicking.

The characters were all so realistically flawed and I loved it so much. None of them are crazy, memorable, a few housewifes, a teacher, an artist - simple humans just like us yet they show so many colors. Love and lust, purity and selfishness and other contradicting emotions go hand in hand. The writers did an amazing job at portraying the animalistic nature of humans - egoism, lust, fury- while still not forgetting the emotions that make us different from animals - love, willfulness, compassion...There are no crazy events, that could only happen on the screen. Sure there were quiet a few "crazy" scenes but they are not really crazy in the actions but more in just pure emotions, more in the way the writers weren't afraid to show that "yes, humans are like that." In some RARE cases I thought that the events and the character's decisions had an unnatural flow but it just didn't bother me that much (and trust me, everything bothers me!)

The music is amazing. The tracks perfectly fit the mood of the show. The simple, non electronic songs have this old faschioned wibe that captures the longlasting and never changing human emotions really well. The song 'Never Again' and the way it was used just confirmed my thoughts that feelings can be just as thrilling as action sequences.

The drama leaves you wondering how it is going to end till the last episode, because the characters were built so realistically it felt like you were experiencing things just as they were and since they don't know where this sin will lead them neither do you. It is not like a rom-com where even though you don't really know how it is going to end you are still 100% sure that the girl will end up with the guy and everyone will live happily ever after. This drama doesn't present itself as just casual leisure time, this is a drama that will leave you with a heavy heart and you can feel it from the first minute. The story here doesn't really have an ending but the last minute left me with a smile on my face saying "yes, this is perfect".

You need to be empathetic and open minded to watch and fully understand Hirugao. If you thought this drama was immoral I am so sorry for you but if you're a person like me who likes to think about various topics then this is the drama for you.

I really hope short dramas like these become more popular, because the lenght of these kind of dramas is just right especially for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of time. Unfortunately for now Koreans working in film making industry seem to not be the best at fitting a story into a short period of time probably because of their love for dramas that have a long running time. You might not even notice, but even 16 hours of the same story is really long!

Star of the Universe is definitely not a masterpiece. The pacing when looking at the progresion of our two main characters' realationship is pretty bad, not to mention how weird the setting is in general. A die hard fan dating her idol is weird and very unnatural. I found myself thinking things like "You're not really in love with him" and "You just love the freedom you experience with her" which is not a good think if you're trying to write an engaging romance story, because I must want for them to be together! Funny enough they actually adressed this issue or a more accurate way of saying it would be that they touced the surface of the problem but I'm glad even for that. The other thing is that the story starts very slowly but then they rush the important things. It's like at the start the director thought that he was making a full lenght drama, taking the time to set up the story, but then realised that he somehow needs to make the romance believable even though so much time was wasted. Nonetheless I really liked the way it ended, because the story had some smart turns and the truth that time heals all wounds stands. Every drama where the characters got together out of nowhere feels ok by the end because you have seen them being all lovey dovey enough to believe it. It's really cheap but hey it works.

What I appreciated a lot in this drama was the smart and really good looking cinematography and fitting music when it was really needed. This show here made me realise one important thing that I can't believe I missed. Adding a cheesy song on top of a romantic scene makes it really cliche thus failing to bring out meaningful emotions. I was so used to it that I even forgot how a good piano track makes a romantic scene shine but Star of the Universe reminded me of it and I'll be forever grateful.

I loved Ji Woo, she is a good actress, but to be honest my liking for her is mostly because of her appearance. She has this subtle unique beauty to her that definitely stands out from the crowd. Kim Jun Myeon as you can probably guess is not the best at acting, he felt stiff and unnatural but not the worst.

Overall Star of the Universe is a really good quick watch for people like me who have no time but desperately crave their romance drama, other than that it's pretty skippable, because it doesn't really offer anything new and does a poor job at presenting the story.

When I saw the announcement for this drama the only thing that came to my mind was 'Great, another cliche rom-com that's going to go downhill real fast'. And I managed to predict half of it.

Shopping King Louis really surprised me with its unique take on rom-coms and its unconventional characters. It took a more comedic aproach to the story and I really aprecciated that, because a lot of writers forget that they are making a rom-COM but I gues they have the right to choose. I still really wish that they would have just taken out the 'melodrama' out of their genres list, because a) not a fan of those and b) they did a really poor job at mood changing. It felt like they don't really know if this is a serious drama or are they just making fun of cliches so they kept jumping between the two and it just felt so poorly done. And the melodrama was soooo cliche that the unique feeling they had built up just vanished into the air. And if they had decided to keep up the comedy throughout all the 16 episodes it still wouldn't have been enough, because even if they had a unique twist to everything the story as a whole, the base, wasn't that original, in other words, not enough to keep the audience entertained for 16 hours. Now I think if you watched this drama while it was airing you probably didn't feel like it dragged but as someone who watched an episode per day it got extremely boring towards the end. I felt like this drama only needed 10 episodes, because past that nothing really happened, a lot of boring melodrama took place, the writers did an extremely poor job at combining and switching between comedy and melodrama, the cute romance reached its peak and then my interest in it just steadily dropped.

The characters were all awesome. Bok Sil and Louis were a perfect couple - kind hearted, naive, but not stupid. They were truly two pure angels and I loved them. Adored the supporting cast, all of it honestly. They all were pretty unconventional. I especially adored the details: what Louis's favourite coffe is, that *ahem* sound that Mr Cha keeps making, how Heo Jeong Ran is kind of gangster like, how Baek Ma Ri learns by heart what to say to people and so much more. I like that a lot of the supporting cast grew throughout the show and by the end were better people. But I still feel that the writers really forgot to end our supporting casts story properly. And again no matter how unique they were, the characters weren't enough to keep the story going for 16 episodes blah blah blah...you know the deal.

The only thing I have to say about the acting is how amazing Seo In Guk was in this drama. I watched him act in I Remember You (nice drama btw worth checking out) and I was amazed, because the roles he played in these dramas were both so different yet he managed to pull them off so well. Some actors are amazing but all their roles seem pretty much the same. But he went from a serious - never smiles kind of guy, to a total naive kid and my mind was blown.

Shopping King Louis is the kind of show you can't take seriously, because you'll hate the characters from the first second. (I mean can Loius be even more spoiled?). It has a bunch of flaws and there isn't anything that would make me say that this drama is a must watch. But if you're a Rom-com lover, like me, and you're looking for something sligtly different then this is definitely worth checking out.

If I had to describe She was Pretty in one sentence I would say that this is a really average rom-com that will give you a far from average second male lead syndrome.

This is it. That's it. Well I can rant some more if you want me to.

The pros of this drama are really average like : the male lead is hot, it's sometimes funny, the female lead is great when she's with the second male lead ( which makes this advantage kind of a disadvantage).

The cons are weird for me, because I have never experienced them before. For example in every Korean rom-com the male lead is probably the most interesting and diverse out of all the characters and in this drama...I just didn't care about him, he was so basic and boring. Sure he was hot and cute but that's it.
The past and the future in this drama has no connection, because why not. Seong Jun went from a cute boy, to a douche who can't control his emotions. And Hye Jin previously a perfect angel, became a dork (which I don't really mind, but c'mon it doesn't work like that!)
And the worst thing is THE SECOND MALE LEAD SYNDROME. Sure it might be enjoyable at times but in the end you're heart broken thinking about him while the main couple is kissing right in front of you and that, kids, is the epitome of bad writing. Second male lead synrome shouldn't exist. You should care about the main lead more, you should like him more, it's just the law of nature. Ugh...sorry, I am slightly mad. :)))

Nonetheless the drama wasn't bad, it's far from good either, but if you have nothing better to do and want your heart broken then go ahead, watch She was Pretty.

You know, this could have easily been a 9 if not for the horrendous second half.
This drama started off amazing, it felt like the writers knew exactly how to make a perfect BL drama - likable leads, actual kissing and intimacy, a lot of sexual innuendos, the best supporting cast I've seen in a BL so far, seriously - the best, Yihwa is amazing, a little bit of drama but nothing to annoy you. Honestly, I was having the best time of my life.
But somewhere along the middle the drama got out of hand. Plern Pleng, Knocs's girlfriend, is a...I'm trying hard not to write anything too nasty :)...she's just a baaad person, her goal was to ruin our leads' relationship basically and you know I was fine with it at the start, because - drama! That's why we came here. But honestly the biggest pet peeve of mine when it comes to BL dramas is that at least one of the leads just haas to have a girlfriend on the side. Why? You're gay, bi, whatever, just admit it! The girlfriend did all that was in her power to make the life for these boys miserable and Knock fell right into it which made me have very conflicting feeling about his character. On one hand I like him, he has great chemistry with  Korn and on the other hand he's weak willed and indecisive. This push and pull just went on for too long. Seeing Knock basically two timing is frustrating and this ruined a lot of my enjoyment.
Another detail that was frustrating is the relationship between Farm and Bright. Every time the directors attempted to show Bright as a good person made me very annoyed because he is not, he's a manipulative a-hole and I'm confused as to why they even decided to portray such a relationship because it lead to nowhere, left me feeling like Farm's story needs a sequel because the conclusions weren't satisfying enough.
Honestly, overall I enjoyed this drama, the pros I mentioned at the begging stay, it's just the drama that goes a little astray. If you're into BL then You'll surely enjoy this because there is a lot to like here.

I really love gender bend stories. I know it's cheesy but when a man is questioning his sexuality, because he seems to like him/her in a special way, first of all it is hilarious and secondly it just holds the truth that love is blind, it has no boundaries.
I came across Bromance while it was still airing and decided to wait till it finishes. Since the rating is 8.0 I had my expectations pretty high but at the same time I kind of knew that I am not going to like it as much as other people did, because I have very high standarts. And sadly I was right, while it wasn't bad, it definitely doesn't deserve an 8.0.
The only thing that made this drama good was the two main characters and I am not even exaggerating.
The story and pacing is all over the place. At the start the story was progressing way too quickly and the second half was draaaaged on, there were hours of usseles fillers and sooo much cheeese. To be honest I don't even know if the thing that this drama had going on could be called a story. Bromance had just a few boring plot lines and the writers kept jumping between them so in the end I didn't care about the story at all. You could say it is a badly written slice of life. There were a lot of things that I wish they could have spent more time on like Zi Feng's past before he was adopted or the whole mafia thing...seriously why are they mafia? Why are they not mafia? What do they do? Am I the only one who was confused? Basically all the scenes with Zherui were stupid - unnecessary and unrealistic drama. The reason why Pi Ya Nuo dressed up as a man...I know it is hard to find a good reason for such a stupid thing but...really? Altogether the plot was uninteresting and pretty boring most of the time. There are more things I am unhappy about but spoilers...
Nonetheless the two main chatacters were such a delight. Zi Feng was very unique, he was a 'bad boy' but not a bad person, he was kind but not soft. I can not describe him well enought. There is one thing I have to give props to for this drama. I was uncomfortable during the first few episodes, because I couldn't get used to the fact that Pi Ya Nuo looks basically like a real man. She acted like a man, talked like a man but there were so many subtle things that made me think, "Ahh, she is a woman afterall" wich was perfect. While I did like Du Zi Feng and Pi Ya Nuo to bits, at first they seemed really weird, like their personalities were mature but they acted very childish. Later on I got used to it. I don't know, maybe that is just how humans are and I am just being stupid.
Other characters...*sigh*...most of them were fine, but that's all they were, the show could have perfectly continued without them. Then there were other characters that I didn't really like. For example Du Zi Han was such a mean bitch, I don't understand how no one seemed to mind that. Qing Yang - while I liked him at first, later on I noticed how stiff and boring he was. Bii's acting skills were pretty bad, but he's hot so I can forgive him since it didn't annoy me ;) I liked Han Shen's character development, but they didn't give him enough screen time wich is a real pity. While Na Na's character was very interesting and fun at first, later on I found myself uninterested, because her fate was predictable.
While the show as a whole is skippable, I still recommend it solely for Zi Feng and Ya Nuo, because they made this drama shine with their interesting personalities and undying love.

Going to keep it short. Didn't like it a lot. Might be because I was used to watching dramas which have a lot of time to take it slow but the film felt very rushed and just all over the place. It felt like they knew how the plot is supposed to play out (the premise looked fun) but they just couldn't do it well. The characters were cute but I just didn't have the time to fall in love with them. Had no problem with the acting. Music? Don't even remember. The cinematography was beautiful. A lot of the film was lost in translation but that is not the creators fault of course.
Don't really recommend it, but it wasn't all that bad.

I should have enjoyed it more- that is the thing I keep telling myself, because a) it has excellent ratings and b) psychological dramas is my thing. That is why I picked this drama back up even though when I started watching it the first time, I dropped it after 2 episodes. I finished it and I am glad I did, but I still don't get the hype.

The start is a mess. Sure I get that they need time to built the scene, but they spent a lot of time on unnecesary things and it's not only the start that is like that, the whole drama seemed streched out. Things were always happening but they happened very slowly. Or maybe I just wasn't interested..

I had very mixed feelings about our main heroine. I disliked her at first, then she kind of grew on me, but that wasn't a nice experience like in most cases.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. Especially the psychological aspects of it. I was pleasantly surprised that all the supporting characters got screen time which rarely happens in dramas and that is a major plus.

The reason why I didn't enjoy this drama as much as I would have liked to is probably because of personal taste and just the fact that when I see a good rated drama I just can't help myself to nitpick every little flaw.

If you are not a weird person like me and you want a good feels trip go ahead and watch this drama!

I'm baffled by the fact that there are no reviews portraying this drama in a negative light so let me be the first one. If you want a brief on why not to watch this - it's "mature" in a really boring and childish way and NOTHING happens.

The drama starts out ok, and that's a compliment at this point, cause I was waiting for it to pick up after a really slow start and it kind of does for a few episodes in the middle but never in a significant way. I'm so surprised by how much of a nothing this drama was. Like seriously - nothing happened during it. The main couple fell in love with each other kind of out of nowhere and, you know, I get that a reason is not always needed but they just lacked chemistry for me, cause their relationship lacked reason and meaning. It felt like their falling in love was out of nowhere (same with the supporting couple). To develop a relationship one must present to us moments of bonding, they don't have to be anything extravagant - a few laughs while taking a walk and having ice-cream is a good place to start. And not - we don't get along with each other but then we had sex and now I love you (???).

Now the main couple's chemistry wasn't the worst part of this drama. What made this so bad for me was that literally nothing happens in this drama and if conflict arises there's zero enjoyment in experiencing it - pure rage. Like it's even hard for me to explain what I mean by "nothing happens" cause most of this isn't a complaint, most of the time things happen but they're just annoying and here...I could probably summarize this whole drama in 5 sentences without missing any crucial moments. There are like 3 interesting things that happen during this drama and one is in the synopsis (can probably guess what it is). It's just so "mature" but in a really boring way that nothing dramatic happens that would make me feel "ahh that's cool...this is interesting....this is cute...fun". It's just so flat that I lack the words to describe it. And the characters don't help at all most of them are god awful. All this drama concerning the main couples age-gap was soooooooooooo frustrating, they beat each other up, some people were locked up, arrested, deceived in worst ways just to keep them apart and I'm supposed to think "ahhh, yes, I get what the mother and sister are going through..." FUCK NO! I don't care if it's a valid reaction, I don't care if it's a part of Korean culture. It's freaking annoying and it's not how I would like humans to act, there's no inherent value in portraying realism, if yuo can even call it that in this case, cause it was outrageous. And noble idiocy is, of course, present too even thought it's one of the most annoying things in dramas. Both of the main characters are really bland bland bland and at times even annoying, sometimes they don't act like adults...

The best thing about this was Chun Jung Myung's puppy eyes, he's a master at it. And there are other kind of neat concepts in this like how the female lead is writing for an adult magazine but none of them are explored enough to be of any significance.

Man, idk I did not like this, I was painting my nails during the last episode just to get through it cause I had already come this far. I'd suggest you try it out just in case cause there are lots of positive reviews, but if you're just like me and this "mature" crap seems like it would bore you then skip it.

So I was having a pretty rough week and wanted to watch something that would punch the sadness out of me with sadness (yeah I fight fire with fire, don't judge) and at the same time inspire me by showing the light in this trashy world. So naturally I picked up Boku no Ita Jikan. Why you ask? Because I was sure that this kind of drama, where the main character looses the things he loves doing one by one, will be one of those bittersweet stories, where even though it ends tragically, it's still very positive and hopeful, because it teaches us to love the little things in life. And I was right, it was just like that (even though I could argue about the ending being tragic) but did I enjoy it?

The STORY is pretty cliche. A man finds out that he has an incurable disiese. One Litre of Tears much? But It just wasn't as good as I expected it to be. When you present me this type of premise, I hope for a deep, maybe even unique story that will be stuck in my heart for years. With this kind of story you can't just swim on the surface. But they kind of did. Not saying that the story was bad. It just didn't add anything new. It felt like I was watching One Litre of Tears again, except there were some minor changes. It just didn't leave a deep impresion for me.
The strangest thing is that I liked the story outside the disease more, than everything concerning it (except some little things here and there but nothing exceptional, still pretty cliche). I liked Takuto's and Rikuto's existential struggles and psychology behind their behaviour. That was probably the most interesting part of this drama.

The CHARACTERS really were the ones that made the drama stand out for me. All of Takuto's family including him developed really nicely. I loved the psychological portrait the writers drew for Rikuto (Takuto's brother). And their parents growth was heart warming too.
Megumi...it's really weird how I have no complains about her but at the sams time I didn't like her either. It's like I liked how the writers developed her, what they made her do but it just felt sort of unnatural and she really was pretty bland, like she had so little character.
Other than that everyone were fine. Nothing bad, nothing good.

I wasn't very fond of Miura Haruma's ACTING. The way he expressed surprise by opening his eyes widely was so unnatural.

I feel strangely bad critiquing this kind of drama. How can I say that a story of a man with an incurable disease is unoriginal and cliche...but it just is!

Overall if you have watched One Litre of Tears or anything with similar story this is pretty skippable, because it doesn't add much new (This opinion might be influenced by the fact that I love tragedies and have seen most of what they can offer) but if you really like these kind of stories or haven't watched anything like this before then go ahead, watch it, it was by no means bad, but don't expect anything mind blowing (then again if you're really new then this might not apply).
