Overall this was quite an enjoyable watch. I don't know why Viki commenters were so annoying with all the negativity so make sure to turn that off when you're watching it on Viki. It was a good length; I didn't really have to fast-forward much. Acting was great, especially from the FL and ML! I think the male character, Gu Jin/Yuan Qi was written very well. It's mentioned briefly in the first episode but a lot of that is covered in Ancient Love Poetry (the prequel) so it's not necessary to watch ALP but it definitely brings you more into the story and feel for the male lead more. The story brings you from Gu Jin's early days as a carefree youth to carrying all the weight of a true god and Wang Anyu's acting really shows that gradual transition well. The only thing that I had any major qualms about was the CG omg it's so embarrassing.
