The downfall of this drama
This drama serie is unbelievably refreshing as the cool summer breeze. The actors did an amazing job.. the storyline is amazing as well! I enjoyed every single scene as it had value to the plot until the last few episodes. The character's personality went downhill, specifically Nian Qin.
Everything was perfectly sweet, but then he s*xually assaulted Wu Yan by forcefully hugging her without consent and her not doing anything about it. Based on Wu Yan's education, she definitely knew what was wrong. That scene was painfully disappointing as that wasn't within Nian Qin's personality range.
Not to mention that when they had a little boy as a guest after they got married was just confusing. An autistic boy would never end up in that absurd situation irl. Nian Qin's childish behaviour caught me off guard as presented in the first episodes, he was never the type of person to become immature. I understand the clinginess towards his wife, but that was really too much. His reaction towards the autistic boy made me so angry. What happened to the gentle teacher that adored children? "Boys don't cry." Damn, I wanted to slap him through my screen lol.
It wasn't just Evan's character that made me angry and confused but also Peng's. Her imagining her dead friend at the very end? Am I the only one who thought that we didn't get a satisfactory closure on that case since it was too late? Her diagnosis was too rushed and just put on the story just because for the sake of it??
With that in mind, I still recommend this drama serie. The acting, music, lighting, photo, story, lines are spot on! I personally loved the train station scene the best! That was just romantic AF.
