Okay, I do admit that I was extremely skeptical of this drama's quality after first reading the summary. An aging actress struggling to keep her name? I basically rolled my eyes at the lackluster description. However, I proceeded to watch anyway. I'm sometimes pleasantly surprised with how great dramas can be, so I decided to give this one a chance. One of the best decisions of my drama-watching life. || STORY || The plot itself doesn't revolve around a mere few unlucky events, but rather a constant string of unpredictable obstacles. (Some were a bit predictable, but not everything in life is a huge surprise so I won't discredit them for that.) The show may start off a bit slow, but that's only to introduce the main characters and their main objectives, I believe. By the second episode, I think, things do pick up -- and quick! Don't look away for even a minute, I'm serious. If you do, there is a good chance you will miss possibly vital information. There are no pointless occurrences, either. Every single detail leads to a bigger event, or so it seems. This story is filled with jaw-dropping plot twists. If you want a show you can watch mindlessly, please move on because She is Wow will capture your full attention. || ACTING || The acting is wow! To be honest, I've had to push myself through a drama to complete it simply because of bad acting. In the case of She is Wow, though, there did not seem to be an unprofessional thespian in existence. Everyone did amazingly in conveying their characters' attitudes, desires, sins, virtues, and secrets. And I absolutely MUST take a brief moment to speak about the man most people watched the drama for -- Jung Jinyoung, leader of B1A4. Seeing posts of him in a drama, I assumed he was either a minor or a supporting character. Never did I suspect him to play such a huge role, especially since he hadn't many acting jobs in the past. Either way, I was blown away with the portrayal of his character, Gong Min Gyu. He did amazingly well with conveying a trouble maker too prideful to give in to the loneliness his parents unknowingly inflicted upon him. So, all-in-all, the acting was substantial. || MUSIC || Usually, I'm accustomed to the soundtracks in dramas having sappy lyrics. This drama's music was strictly instrumental, and it was a bit refreshing. I sometimes feel as if the drama is telling me to cry and be sad when the music intensifies and a strong, emotional voice sings about love or loneliness. My only complaint is that the music wasn't really memorable. I did enjoy it, though, each time I watched the intro. || REWATCH VALUE || At the moment I don't feel as if this show is one I could rewatch so soon. I know that I would rewatch it, but no sooner than a few months from now only to give myself time to forget a good bit of it. This drama, I feel, is one to be watched and appreciated once; howbeit, maybe even a second time only to look for hints of events that surface later on in the show. || OVERALL || Overall, this drama was grade A and it is one I would definitely recommend!
