s t o r y :
the idea behind SFH is absolutely mind blowing! the concept of a person having to stay near dangerous people because they don't have any other choice was done many times before, but this is the first time i'm seeing this kind of take on it. the way this drama shows the dark and sinister sides of people left me obsessed and i ESPECIALLY like all of the subtle hints and metaphors that were dropped each episode. (slight spoiler; i immediately realized what moon jo's goal was when they showed him reading metamorphosis) and i hope to see even more hints when i re-watch the show. there were a few plot holes that bothered me regarding the landlady but i won't get into the spoilers. all in all, i really enjoyed the story and i think it was amazingly done.
a c t i n g / c a s t :
the acting is what i liked the most in this show because it was absolutely legendary. from the facial expressions, the tone in a voice, mannerisms and the looks in their eyes, i absolutely loved the cast work in SFH. at moments, the actors made scenes so real and i could feel the fear in the atmosphere. especially pointing out seo moon jo's absolutely horrendous facial expressions that left my blood run cold. i didn't really like the girlfriend's acting though. even for someone who is portraying a ''normal'' character, she just kinda seemed detached from the story. (and i'm definitely not hating on her, i think she could do a really good job in another genre, but horror doesn't really suit her)
c h a r a c t e r s :
i hated ji eun. she was just a trashy girlfirend who ignored every red flag she was presented with and would play the victim for having a hard job.
i really enjoyed jung woo and the way his character morphed throughout the story and slowly fell into the mindset we saw when the show ended. seo moon jo is a special case too, he managed to creep the shit out of me but make me love him at the same time and i admittedly shipped the two just a little. the twins, the pervert and ofc the landlady were really fckn creepy and memorable. kang sun won and so jung hwa were my precious babies of the show, and i pretty much hated all the background characters.
m u s i c :
i rated this lower because i'm salty that the official OST is literally just 4 songs.
although it doesn't even last 15 minutes, i really liked the edgy vibes it gave off. my favorite is definitely the rose - strangers and room no. 303. check them out even if you decide not to watch this drama. you won't regret it!
!! s p o i l e r a r e a !! (the little details i enjoyed)
a) ''honey'' need i say more
b) how does that hole in the wall even work?
c) when bok-soon was picking what knife she'll use in episode 10, they literally only censored the knife she chose. it was so fucking hilarious because you get this huge row of knives and a blur in the middle
d) cleaning dust, jung woo edition.
e) the meat-
f) yall remember when kang sun asked about why moon jo wears long sleeves in the summer, and he responded he has a scar to cover? am i just dumb or did they just never elaborate on that? i really wanna know more about that so if anyone knows please tell me!

all in all, i really liked it (duh) just remember that if you watch it on netflix, moonjo isn't saying ''babe'' - he's saying ''honey'' literally wtf is that translation-

i started this drama because of the webtoon but i ended up really enjoying it all the way through.
without giving away any spoilers, this story is a masterpiece but the producers absolutely massacred the ending. i don't think it was either bad or good, but it was definitely different from the original plot and it left me kind of disappointed and sad at the end.apart from that, CITT takes this very basic-ass plot base of a poor girl, a rich chaebol son and the bad boy second lead and puts a twist on it with a lot of varying topics. from stalking to dealing with a patriarchic household, the show gave off some really dark vibes at certain moments and i really liked the way the characters interact. a lot of people didn't like yoo jung and how he solved his issues but i think it's one of the key points that made this show so interesting. a lot of people also complained about the chemistry with the main couple - saying that they're awkward - but that is actually supposed to be the main point of their interaction. with the awkwardness, come a lot of hilarious moments and conflicts. apart from the main leads, baek in ho, baek in ha and all the other background characters are really memorable and enjoyable. i also think i'm the rare minority that didn't get second lead syndrome, but i can 100% see the appeal as their relationship was great.
the actors all seem to suit their roles well (kim go-eun was absolutely i c o n i c) and i also really liked hong seol's outfits in every episode. the visuals give off this college aesthetic kind of vibe that i haven't seen in any other k-drama and the interior design was really pretty.
the soundtrack isn't one of the best but there are a few gems (maybe i like you, cheese in the trap, perhaps this is love)
i don't think how it could be compared to the movie version, it's a disgrace to the drama's name and i don't suggest you watch that one.
all in all, i would rec. this drama to anyone who wants a plot that's both fun and endearing and also lowkey chilling at the same time. i also recommend to everyone that isn't satisfied with the ending to check out the webtoon to heal from the trauma :D

i initially started this drama because i've :
a) developed a giant obsession with lee dong wook and am binging all of his filmography works
b) been emotionally scarred by sunny and grim reaper
❤ s t o r y :
i'd call this a lighthearted show for the most part (i was actually really sad when the climax/falling action part of the story came up but nvm that) the story keeps a steady amount of fluff all throughout the episodes. i also had to pause and take a deep breath for a few scenes because it's filled with that awkward humor excellence we all love.
i really liked the dynamic between the leads and i also liked the romance/crime mystery sub plots between the background characters.
❤ a c t i n g / c a s t :
ahhhh this was probably the best part of TYH. seeing the loml aka lee dong wook and yoo in na on screen together was amazing since they already had chemistry built up (the ship moments legit made me blush) the acting wasn't forced and i didn't get those cringing vibes you get in some dramas. i liked dan mon hee and i thought she was adorable. i think they chose a really great cast and i couldn't imagine anyone else playing these parts. i hope to see more of this cast together in the future.
❤ m u s i c :
i struggled a lot on how to rate the music. in the end, i gave it a 6 because it's not really one of those iconic OST's that stay forever remembered BUT this type of music is generally what i enjoy listening to. chill and laid back music with it's own type of aestheticy music you'd find in the start of a bad teen movie. my favorite songs are probably
wendy - what if love and j rabbit - oh? truly!
❤ !! s p o i l e r a r e a !! (the little details i enjoyed)
a) ''keep your hands off my woman''. i fckn LOST IT
b) the manager can rot in hell i literally hated him all the way through
c) jung-rok only drinking instant sweet coffee and smelling it agressively - a mood
d) eun ji and office manager lee deserved!!! the world!!! i'm still salty about them not being together. he was so sweet and PoEtIC and ahhhh the bus scenes ohmalord.

i look forward to forgetting the plot after a few years and rewatching it again (sounds weird but rewatching old dramas is what i thrive on) i'd suggest this drama to anyone who is looking for a laid back and immersive drama that's hilarious and full of ship moments.

the drama has a perfect mix of an enticing story with conditions that keep you on edge every episode, so many fckn feels that are all over the place, actually funny humor that is unique to this show, a lovable cast that you can't help but grow attached to, the most amazing cinematography and an i c o n i c soundtrack that gets stuck in your head after one episode. it's pretty much the ultimate package and doesn't lack in anything.
to top this all off, goblin is one of those shows where you just continue watching and easily become addicted. every k-drama is meant to function that way to keep your attention, but this is the only drama where i didn't move, sleep or eat until i finished it and i regret nothing.
if you still haven't watched this drama even after literally everybody talking about it, you're severely missing out and i recommend you to start right fckn now.
p.s many thanks to goblin for introducing me to lee dong wook, who is my favourite actor now. if you liked the grim reaper x sunny ship, you might wanna check out ''touch your heart'' next, as they're the main characters in that drama too. i like to think this was the reincarnated life they led after goblin ended.
