Wayne Song saves this episode (somewhat)

Wayne Song did such a great job showing us a completely changed Xiang Hao Ting.Altho the actual ending of the episode was disappointing and abrupt, he managed to keep the show somewhat together with his acting skills. This might be the saddest episode but it was definitely his best acted one. He truly shone. Besides that the story line had a hard time being believable with all its random and sudden developments. The show and its lovely characters definitely deserved more.

For a first episode it did everything you…

For a first episode it did everything you want from a thriller mystery show it, leaves you wanting more. This is the first time for me watching the actor Shin Ha Kyun but so far I've been impressed by his natural acting. He very skillfully makes you doubt whether you can trust him or not. I'm curious to see how he will expand on this character. My only criticisms so far is that I wish Yeo Jin Goo's character was a bit less of the stereotypical handsome, aloof over-intelligent son of a powerful family. At this point we've seen enough of those characters. So I hope that in the upcoming episodes his character we grow and become more human.

Yu Xi Gu's death doesnt ruin the show (dont come at me)

I know alot of people hated this episode and yu xi gu's death. And altho i agree that the way they revealed that his character has died was unnecessarily vague and confusing, I don't hate the fact he died. Its incredibly tragic of course but when reexamining the title of the show his death seems inevitable. And i've come to view the Yu Xi Gu's and Xiang Hao Ting's love story in a different light. Their love was as a sweet and once in a life time dream that unfortunately had to come to an end. Do I wish they had happily stayed together forever? Of course! But life isn't always happily ever after and i found it (shocking) but also refreshing that a BL show dared to go there.(yes i am aware of the unfortunate "bury your gays" trope and how this is also present in the Asian lqbtqi film/tvshow industry. But when it comes to the new wave of BL i am not against shows having a less that fairy tale ending)
