Both dramas feature:
- An unconventional queen that is not easily bullied, street smart, tough, and charming.

- A king that is outwardly weak and cowardly, but hides their strength and intelligence. Both also care deeply for their countries.

- A lead couple that initially were forced into marriage against their wills, but eventually fall in love.

- The MLs are both first aloof characters that seem to hate the FL. But later become jars of vinegar for their queens ?.

- An old villainous minister like character that controls the royal court and rivals the king.
-Slapstick humor that will keep you laughing out loud.

- Side characters that provide good support for the leads, as well as humorous side stories for the audience.

Key differences between the two dramas:
- Mr. Queen is more fantasy based since the FL has soul swapped with a time-traveling man. While The Legendary Life of Queen Lau has slight wuxia elements when it comes to fight scenes, but overall it's not really a fantasy drama.

Both Dramas contain:
- Fantasy element of a FL having a hidden ability
- Rich chaebol ML who is the overbearing president of an important company
- ML that discovers the FL's ability early on and is able to fall in love with the "real her"
- FL that ends up working for the ML's company/ in a contract relationship with the ML
- FL with strained relationship with their mother
- Best friends and secretaries (supporting characters) that help keep their secrets hidden while adding humor and depth to the plot
- Hilarious iconic scenes
- FL that has to come to terms with accepting their true selves
- ML that has to learn to trust others to gain true love and overcome their loneliness

Both dramas feature:
- A strong FL that must take on the role of a son against their choice to protect the one's they love.
- A love triangle with at least one ML ready to risk it all for the FL.
- ML that fall in love at first sight, and become protective of the FL.
- Unrequited love
- A stubborn grandfather set in their ways that a daughter is not as precious and strong as a son.
- Family disputes
- Misunderstandings

If you liked Cutie Pie then you might like Fish Upon the Sky.

Both dramas featured the following:

- Affectionate couples with good chemistry and the best kissing scenes.

- A MC (Kuea/Pi) with an adorable, immature, and sometimes petty personality. I just love both MCs sense of humor and petty sides, they give me the drama I crave.

- A ML (Hia Lian/Mork) that is elegant, mature, and totally head-over heels in love with the MC. Both MLs have neverending patience when dealing with their Drama King MCs.

- Side couples made up of polar opposites. Seriously, in both dramas the second MLs (Hia Yi/Duean) are abrasive, domineering, yet funny. They come across as somewhat mean towards their love interests but still are protective of them. The love interests (Khondiao/Meen) also have similar personalities of gentle and needing to be handled with care, yet hidden strength.

- The side characters in both dramas are hilarious! In Cutie Pie, Kuea's classmates are hysterical and always down to help him hide his secrets from Hia Lian. In Fish Upon the Sky, Pi has the help of his brother's classmates to help him as well. I guess the running trope is that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are really fun and cool people. ;-) Oh yeah, can't forget our fave personal secretaries from CP and Ship Captains from FUTS (they are hilarious!). :-D

- I also want to mention that both dramas featured very supportive parents/families that were accepting of their children's relationships.

By far these two are my fave Thai BL dramas, with Kinnporsche close behind :-)
