I was debating whether I should rate this a 7.5 or an 8, but in the end I think I'll give it an 8.
Full House is a classic, and that's reason enough to watch this rom-com kdrama. That, and Rain. Anyways, besides being a classic, this kdrama had the foundation to be really fun, and even though it was, it was also extremely frustrating. Frustrating in the way that only kdramas can make u.
Rain's character, Young Jae, is the biggest jerk, and I wanted to punch him in the face more than half the time. Song Hye Kyo's character, Han Ji Eun, I absolutely adored, but she was really kinda stupid lol, but in an endearing way. The ost is really beautiful and goes perfectly with this drama, and the only reason i didn't rate the music higher is because i can't recall the songs right off the top of my head, only if i hear it i know right away that it came from Full House. Minus .5 for the acting/cast because of the horrible second female lead. (Ugh, she was so annoying).
Ok, so the story starts off with Ji Eun's friends tricking her to go to China so they can sell her house (wtf this made me sooo angry), and she meets Young Jae for the first time on the plane ride there. Young Jae is a famous actor. Anyways while in China, she realizes that she has no way to get back home to Korea, so she tricks Young Jae into paying for her (she plans on paying him back tho). When she gets back to Korea, she realizes that her so-called friends tricked her and sold her house (i still don't know how this was even possible, but w/e). With no where to go, she camps out at the house still, but Young Jae calls her up out of no where, and plans on bringing her to meet her "ex-boyfriend" so they can "get back together" so he can finally get the girl he "loves" (rolls eyes), because the girl he "loves" (horrible second female lead) is in love with Ji Eun's "ex-boyfriend" (he's fantastic and i really like him). Anyways, it was a really awkward meeting because Ji Eun's "ex-boyfriend" isn't really her ex-boyfriend, it was just a story she sold Young Jae so he'd pay for ticket to Korea. Anyways after all of that, (Young Jae is really mad at her btw), when Ji Eun goes back to her house, she realizes that Young Jae has taken up residence there now. See, Full House has the makings of a great rom-com, but it's just so frustrating because Young Jae is a freaking idiot on top on being a huge jerk. Ugh, anyways, obviously these two end up catching feelings for each other, but all the drama in between is so unnecessary. I love drama, but not the stupid kind, and Full House is full of the stupid kind. All the drama is Young Jae's fault of course. Yeah, he's cute, but he makes it extremely difficult to like him. I don't hate him, but i def don't love him. I just smh at him.
Anyways, this kdrama is worth a watch because #1) Rain, #2) Classic, #3) It's funny. Despite all my eye rolling, I'd recommend this drama, because it is actually entertaining, and isn't that why we all watch dramas in the first place. To be entertained. The are some real, true, laugh-out-loud moments in this drama. And, I've actually rewatched this drama twice, so it's not that bad. It's a little slow at the beginning, namely the first episode, but stick with it. Would i rewatch it again? Eehhhhh, maybe. I don't plan to anytime soon. Maybe in a couple of years. Watching it once is good enough, and I really do think kdrama fans should watch Full House at least once.
