Great premise, but a miss.
When I read the summary, I was very excited to watch this drama. The cast seemed promising as well. But right from the first episode something felt very off. I watched few more episodes hoping this feeling improves, but it only gets worse. Their past life story showcased in the first couple of episodes isn’t stellar, but leaves you hoping that their present setting is well narrated. I think the flaw in this drama was the haphazard storytelling, or forcing it to appear that everything is happening because of destiny and that’s the sole driving factor. I want to know how the characters will develop, but the slow paced drive is making me feel like each episode lasts for hours.Tried my best to continue, but despite few things which I want to know, I’ll be dropping this.

So worth it!
Happiness is a banger from the very first episode, in fact the intro is so catchy that it reels you in and you’re hit with these character’s well written personalities. The relationship between the leads is chef’s kiss. With so little they give us a lot, definitely slow burn but without the angst. Each episode is so action packed and doesn’t feel like a filler, beauty of 12 episodes I guess! The side characters are super interesting and apartment people are so frustrating that you can’t stand them. They show us how some situations bring out the worst in people. Comeback dramas are so hyped that they can be a fail, but I’m so glad for PHS! Another thing I loved about the drama was how everything was well laid out from the beginning. Certain reveals in the very end shock you but you accept them because the tiny hints exist in the earlier episodes. The drama can be a little triggering though, whole with the ongoing pandemic still in place. If you can get past that, it’s so worth a watch!

Dear lord, I hope it improves
Review after first episode: Okay, started this with lots of hope because of the genre, but I guess I’ve watched far too many ones which have set the bar really high that this intro failed to impress me. All the stupid decisions that Kim Hyun Soo takes would be believable if the victim was written better. Within the first few moments we are forced to see her influence on the ML and it somehow doesn’t click. From not giving him the time of her day to romantically running away instead of paying for their ice creams in the middle of a dark empty road was funny and not for the reasons they intend it to, if at all. The rest of the episode works on KSH’s remarkable acting skills, he really makes you feel for him even if you find that the seriousness which should have been there is missing in the drama, There’s too much of forcing the viewers to see the characters as someone rather than actually showing us. Anyway, it’s a fast paced enough intro. I’m hoping that it improves with the next set of episodes.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Disappointing.
The trailer made this drama look so fun, but halfway through the first episode and I had to force myself to complete it. The character intros were pretty fun and the potential to be similar or better than Chief Kim is there, but it felt too forced. There’s exaggerated humour that grows on you and another that fails, and sadly for me CM fell on the latter. I felt like the writers couldn’t find he balance between making it intense and thrilling while keeping the humour and light parts. The comic scenes even felt too slapstick. I will try to give it another try, hopefully it improves in the next episode.Edit: I couldn’t get back to it eventually, didn’t hold my interest after all.

Park Min Young is back!
Marry My Husband is a revenge driven drama with the female lead coming back to the past with her eyes opened to the fake relationships around her. The drama thought has Makjang plot lines strictly refuses to fall into that character. The fantasy element should make it unrealistic, but the behaviours and characters are so well fleshed out that one can imagine this to be the most sensible way to deal with what’s in front of you.The story is fast past, the evil characters aren’t solely evil but have a multi dimensional personality And the chemistry is so good between them leads! It’s been a while since I watched a good PMY drama and this is definitely it. I don’t usually review until done, but this drama is exciting and makes me wait every week with anticipation even though I’ve read the webtoon.
The only negative part of the drama was yura for me, her scenes were almost unbearable to watch. Everything else was extremely well done!

Not engaging enough.
Wanted a bit of wholesome feels from a j-drama but sadly this failed to capture my interest. Though centred on food and gives us enough shots of it, there must be something in the production or the lack of story that made me stop. I thought the acting wasn’t that great as well. For a short episode it felt too dragged and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I guess one can watch it if they have nothing else to watch, but despite this feeling I wasn’t able to continue. The premise seems interesting enough, but something about it was just not engaging. Maybe it’s the pace, or the characters. Anyway, if you like food dramas, this one will probably make you feel good — there’s enough focus on it with the recipes being shared at the end.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
