A huge disappointment.

Lovely Complex was the first anime I had ever watched so it holds a very special place in my heart. When I first watched this movie I was 8 years old and even as an 8 year-old I knew this movie sucked. I rewatched it last year thinking maybe I didn't get it as a child and maybe it was good but nope.

First of all, it was extremely rushed. It skipped a lot of major events which weakened the story. It brought the original story from amazing to meh.

The acting was nothing special. It didn't need to be but I felt that the casting really didn't fit. I love Teppei but he was not suitable for Ootani imo.

The soundtrack was very forgetable unlike the anime that had amazing soundtrack that I still listen to even now.

It has no rewatch value. There's literally nothing about the movie that I enjoyed enough that I would go back and watch it again. There isn't even a good scene from it that I remember.

If this movie is your first introduction to Lovely Complex then I recommend just skipping it. Go and watch the anime or, even better, read the manga.
