Let's update this for 2025 --
I'm [still] bored at work so let's update this profile thing...
I've been watching dramas for about three years now thanks to a family member forcing me to watch a drama while I was on holiday at their house. I think they made me watch Squid Game? Crash Landing on You? Can't remember. What I do remember is that I watched it solely so they would stop nagging me to watch it. Now I'm hooked and the vast majority of my entertainment is in the form of Asian dramas.
So what do I watch? I mostly like a good time travel drama, historical drama, romcom, or anything with Ji Chang Wook.
Like, anything. He could be in a show where it's just him staring at a wall for 16 episodes and I'd watch it and demand he get an award for his performance.
Don't you judge me.
About Me:
~ Punk kid turned Atiny adult
[Sometimes I still get nostalgic for Manic Panic hair dye and my much abused Doc Maartens.]
~ Former jewelry salesperson turned corporate bot in the tech industry
[I mean...what else can you do with a BA in history when you absolutely do NOT want to teach high school?]
~ Armchair military historian
[I *may* have a blogpost on the internet out there debating the military philosophies of Clausewitz vs. Sun Tzu as it applies to eliminating the ant infestation in my grad school apartment. Extra bonus points if you can find it.]
~ I make butter from scratch on the weekends
[Everyone has to have a hobby.]
My rating scale (as interpreted by Lucille Ball):
Dropped:
It doesn't happen often...but when it does I am also probably making the same face as Lucy
1-5:
I suffered through...and then questioned why I spent valuable life hours watching a show that was just 'meh'.
6-7:
You know...it was ok. Just ok.
8-9:
Hey - that was pretty good. I could watch it again at some point.
10:
One of the best of the best. Good acting, good story arc(s), not too cringey. I'm probably trying to find a
non-bootlegged copy to purchase while you're reading this.
So thanks for stopping by. If you, too, are bored at work I highly recommend updating your MDL profile because, hey, you basically get paid to do it and it brings back those old MySpace biography vibes (pretty sure I just aged myself). Besides, it's not like anyone actually reads these things...do they?
[Answer: No, they really don't read these. And they definitely don't make it to the bottom of the profile page. But if they did they'd probably be annoyed at my alternating between neon pink and light purple font. I won't lie...it kind of annoys me too. Maybe for 2026 I'll change the font color completely. Oh the spontaneity!]
