Wasted Potential… Nice OSTs though!
I dropped this lakorn on episode 6… I just can’t get through the succeeding episodes anymore. I just watched clips of the lakorn through Twitter and honestly was just tuning in for the Jutathep cousins’ cameos and the ChatKwan wedding everybody’s been waiting since the beginning of the series.Truth to be told, this was the next Dhevaprom installment I was anticipating for because I thought this would have a feel-good and fun kind of vibes after the drama-filled and angst-filled drama that is Dujupsorn. Like I expected this would be a light watch because it’s the final installment of the series. I even thought that theur conflict would lie around the fact that Cheewan thinks she’s inferior to Saruj and that she’ll be trying to get on terms with the fact that she is not inferior and their statuses do not matter at all. But alas… what I’ve gotten wasn’t what I expected.
I heard that the screenwriter of Poncheewan has a bias towards Poncheewa, which was why they focused more on her story. And it’s not like Cheewan and Saruj’s story were the next focus after Poncheewa because it’s literally Muslin, her husband, and a supposed nobleman (Saruj) that sticks his nose in her business.
I also don’t like how they wrote the characters in this installment. Like you’re telling me the Khun Phum we have seen in the previous lakorns, most especially in Dujupsorn is the same one in Poncheewan? Absolutely not ? even the characters of the 5 monkeys were ruined by one single scene (when they supported Saruj’s plan on literally eloping with Muslin ?).
I also was so confused by the fact that anybody can just go in and out of the Jutathep Palace? Like what is going on? ?
On the other hand, I enjoyed the cameos of the other Dhevaprom girls, especially during that banquet scene! All so pretty. And that scene where all the Dhevaprom girls paid their respect to Grandma Orn… it got me giggling.
Now this may seem an unpopular opinion but I did wish they did ChatKwan’s wedding in their own lakorn or they should’ve just implied they got married in the show just like what they did with Laorchan and Phu’s wedding in Dujupsorn. I guess something about it being promoted more and more by the PH and the channel itself was odd cause like why are they promoted more than the main leads themselves? ? well anyway, that wedding scene was cute so it is what it is. I wouldn’t have minded it if the main leads were main leading in their own story, but they weren’t so…
To add, I also love the OST in this drama. I heard that that was supposed to be the OST of the entire series, and I see it honestly. It perfectly captures the essence of the next generation of Dhevaproms and Jutatheps.
The OST, KaoPP’s chemistry, the 5 Monkeys’ cameos, and the Dhevaprom ladies’ cameos are genuinely the only saving grace of this lakorn. #JusticeForKaoPP #JusticeForPoncheewan
Do I recommend this lakorn? Honestly, no :(

A MUST-WATCH!!!
Out of all the five stories, this one excited me the most. AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!I had very high expectations for this drama because it features the daughter of one of the Dhevaprom sisters, who was the most affected among the three when the promise among the families wasn't fulfilled. When I watched the trailer of the drama and the MVs for the OSTs, I had hope because the cinematography and acting were on point -- and as I hoped, the drama gave what it was supposed to give.
First off, Peak and Mint were so amazing as Petch and Fah. Peak really embodied Asira. The role of being the selfless and responsible big brother, not just to his younger sister, but also to his younger cousins -- he played it so well, that I almost forgot he's like the 3rd youngest among the five guys in real life. His micro-expressions were so on point that I, as a watcher, got immersed. And let's not forget Mint's portrayal of Fah. Amazing... just freaking amazing. From comical to dramatic scenes, she was able to deliver. The girl can cry, guys, to the point that it got me teary-eyed on some scenes. Not to mention, the chemistry between Peak and Mint were off the charts! (Bonus point: the chemistry is even crazier IRL guys lol).
Secondly, the cinematography, direction, and the musical scoring of the drama was good. I loved the way they shot some of the scenes, especially those that mattered, and I loved that you'd get to understand why they included moments of Fah "breaking the 4th wall" in some scenes as the drama progresses. And the musical scoring was so good, like they really made use of the two OSTs so well. I guess it helped that the OSTs were written as if they were in the POV of main leads. (Bonus point: Peak himself sung, composed, wrote, and produced the 'I wish you the sky', which is one of the OSTs of the drama).
Third, I loved how they tackled multiple topics and shone light on some things. I liked the way they showed the realities of being an eldest child (I resonated with this one for real... it was so on point, it's crazy lol). Even the struggles of an only child doing everything just to ensure her only family member's happiness, to the point that they're putting aside their own wishes for the sake of their family. There were some lines that hit close to home, I had to pause sometimes because it was too real.
Lastly, the plot was executed just fine. During the earlier episodes, I liked the pacing of the drama, but the towards the end, I felt like they rushed some things, especially in the final episode. I felt like they should've extended it to one or two more episodes to really flesh out the ending. I needed more of Petch and Fah in the final episode lol. But other than that, this drama's excellent still.
It has been years since I last watched a lakorn. The last one I watched was probably The Crown Princess and I am not even sure if I finished the drama or not lol. Dujupsorn's also the only lakorn that I watched real time and was waiting for episodes weekly. I was that immersed, despite not understanding a single word as I watched the live stream. You really should watch this lakorn. Like it's just so good.
Also, Peak and Mint released a duet version of 'I wish you the sky' posted on Peak's YouTube channel. It got me giggling I can't lie ;)
