Great chemistry. Great drama

I was going through a kdrama fallout phase until I came across this drama which is part of the reason why I got back into kdramas. It was the typical older woman/younger man kind of love story, but it's actually a good one. I wasn't sure how the chemistry between Jin Ah and Rowoon would be considering the age gap, however, they really pulled it off and the chemistry was great.

One of the things I liked about this drama was how the "love square" conflict did not take up much of the entire drama. I believe the conflict ended sometime a little over halfway through the drama. I mean, it's reasonable why it should since Jae Shin has no right at all to try and fight to win Song Ah back considering that he did cheat on her. He did try to but realized after that she'll never take him back despite his reasoning of why he did cheat. Also, it was unexpected how there was very little interaction between Song Ah and Hyo Joo considering they were both victims of being two-timed by Jae Shin. I mean there was no reason to since both women were not at fault nor were aware of the two-timing. I was actually expecting Hyo Joo to be like a very evil character where she just goes to great extent to keep Jae Shin and/or make Song Ah's life a living hell like what typical love square dramas do. But she wasn't evil at all. She just needed to mature. I think that's what also made the drama different compared to other dramas.

The build-up to Song Ah and Hyung Seung's relationship was at a good pace. Not too slow nor too fast. I really like how Hyun Seung was not forcing his feelings onto Song Ah as if he was forcing her to reciprocate. He always considered her feelings and patiently waited for her to like him back as he stood by her side. Compared to some dramas, if a guy likes a girl, they would like go all the way to try and make moves on the girl to get her to fall for him. But Hyun Seung was subtle and understanding. Eventually, she did end up falling for him.

I also liked how they changed the roles in the drama at the end where Song Ah tries to chase and win Hyun Seung back after she broke up with him during the 3 year time skip when she left for Europe. It was cute, especially how Hyun Seung reacts to it since he gets caught off guard by it lol. I felt like it was unreasonable of her to break up with him just bc of the long distance they had trouble doing. Like yeah I understand where she comes from bc she doesn't want to hurt or burden him anymore bc of her always being busy to spend time with him. But if he straight up says he can deal with it bc he loved her and wants to keep the relationship, then don't break up. You'll eventually find a way to make it work. She eventually came back 3 years later, even though it was originally 5, bc she missed him and wanted him back. I can understand the frustration and hate Hyun Seung must've felt when he saw her again and was hesitant to get back with her. But they ended up getting married in the end so it's okay LOL.

As for side characters, I LOVE the second couple LOL. Jae woon and Ji Seung were just adorable together XD. And I'm glad of the character development of Hyo Joo. She learned how to let go of Jae Shin and that she can still be happy without him. I'm glad that the writers did not script them to get back together in the end bc that's just pointless.

Overall, this drama was really good and something I would rewatch. I would definitely recommend this if you want some romance! Rowoon was great in this drama too.

I've seen better cross dress dramas

In the beginning, I was quite hooked on the drama because of the funny and cute moments between the two main leads. However, as the story progressed, I started to want the drama to be over already. Not only did it start to get boring, but the cute moments just started to get super cheesy and cringey to the point that I had to skip some of them and end up dropping the whole drama itself. I honestly was more interested in the coach and Wen Bing's uncle's relationship than the main couple oddly enough haha.
And maybe this is just by preference and based on what I've seen in past cross dress dramas, but I wasn't really into the whole knowing from the very beginning he was a girl but just decided to keep silent about it until the end. For me, I just get uncomfortable when Sang Tian gets uncomfortable whenever Wen Bing gets super close to her flirtatiously or whatever not even aware that he knows she's a girl. I usually like the cross dramas where the guy finds out she's a girl in the beginning (with the girl aware he knows) and then throughout the drama he protects her identity from being exposed. Pretty much like the drama "You're Beautiful". But like I said, that's just a preference not everyone cares what way it would be so.
Overall, I don't think I'd watch it again.

Utterly freaky and weird

Ok, so I was hooked to this drama for like the first 10 episodes until that PLOT TWIST came up I was just like WTF. By then, it just started getting really weird and uncomfortable for me. I genuinely hated the remaining episodes after that and I question myself on why I even decided to try and finish it.

First, I guess the writers were trying to make it interesting and all with the plot twist but naw bruh it did not work it just terrified and made me disgusted. Basically, the main girl was told she had leukemia and the main guy told her that if she marries him, then she'd be able to get a bone marrow transplant sooner. So she married the guy. HOWEVER, it turns out the main guy either faked or switched the medical records (I watched this awhile ago so I don't remember which one) in order for her to think she had leukemia and get her to marry him. Little did we know, he knew and had a crush on her a long time ago and she did not even know he existed. So he made up this whole leukemia plan in order to get her attention and get her to fall in love with. But I'm here just like that's complete BS and wrong and creepy. That's not romantic at all. Do you think watchers can comfortably watch this after that plot twist? And after she discovered he basically held her as HOSTAGE in their own house as he put body guard all over the house in order for her not to leave. I'm like WTF? This is some toxic stuff here that I'm just utterly in disbelief on.

Second, the main guy was just really weird. Like his character was just very uncomfortable to me and the way he makes flirty moves on her before she gained feelings for him was just cringey and weird. Other than pretty much deceiving the main girl the whole time, his character, in general, was just weird, utterly flirtaciousand possessive to the point it's uncomfortable, and stalker status. The cute moments they had just made me cringe in a bad way.

Unfortunately, they ended up still staying together in the end. I wasn't happy about it but oh well. I'd rather her be wit the second male lead. Overall, this drama was just not right.

It was good after awhile..

I started this drama because Xiao Zhan was in it. I would say the first few episodes were good and it got me hooked because of the chemistry between Zhai Xing and Lord Bo aka "wolfie." However, as the story progressed, I was just dying inside and wanted to finish this drama right away. There were some scenes that were unnecessary and repetitive that it just dragged the story longer than expected. I honestly really wanted to drop this drama but kept going for the sake of Xiao Zhan. Some reasons why I didn't like this drama was mainly due to the characters.

First, the characters were just annoying as heck. At first, I really liked Zhai Xing because of her cute bubbly personality in the beginning. However, once she got older, she just got super annoying how she would repetitively keep calling for Wolfie wolfie wolfie! Like dang shut up! Even when Lord Bo and her were together already, she would continuously keep bringing up about how he is not the wolfie that he was 8 years ago bla bla bla. Like she's seeing two people in one person indirectly saying as if the current Lord Bo is a bad person if he doesn't act like wolfie. Then she passive-aggressively like pushing him to bring some aspects of wolfie back which is just annoying as hell. Like girl, people can change throughout the years, it's common sense. Do you seriously expect that he'd be the same exact person after 8 years? She's too busy living in the past. If I was Lord Bo, I would've dumped her HAHAHA. These type of scenes just repetitively went on for like who knows how many episodes out of 49 that it made me genuinely hate her. I especially felt so bad for Ji Chong, he tried his best to win her over but she was she soo madly obsessed and in love with Lord Bo that he couldn't break their bond and had to let go of her. BUT, he sorta did end up with Bao Na in the end, which I feel like is the only BEST thing that happened throughout this whole drama LOL.

Lord Bo, I had mixed feelings for him because he was just utterly horrible to Zhai Xing throughout who knows how many episodes (which is prob the only times I felt bad for her). Like I know he's acting cruel to her because he is trying to protect her and knew she'd hate him if she found out the death of her family had to do with Bo's clan. However, he was just too cruel and extra that it was hard for me to re-like him again even after he redeemed himself. At one point, I did sorta start to like him when he started showing more of his soft side when he attempted to sacrifice himself (but ironically didn't die like 1000 times which I have no idea why or how). But still, I just ended up really hating both Zhai Xing and Lord Bo because of how they were. Towards the end of the drama, I basically just skipped all their sweet moments together because I could care less. I just didn't care anymore what happened to them in the end of the drama (whether they die or whatnot). But I guess this is called "good acting" maybe? I don't know. I think the only people I actually liked in this drama was Bao Na and the Fourth Prince.

The story itself was okay and somewhat interesting, disregarding the annoying female/male leads. Like I said before, there were a lot of repetitive and necessary parts that was just unbearable to watch. But watching some of the intense scenes and the development leading up to the climax of killing off the antagonists were good. One good thing I can say is that I actually liked the way the drama ended. Not because the female/male leads that I hated died in the end, but it's actually a perfect way to end the drama. Having the female/male lead die together in the place where they had their happy times together. It's different from most happy endings which I liked. It's like a bittersweet ending for me.

Overall, I don't think I would watch this drama again or recommend it to anyone. Wished they had shortened the drama so I wouldn't waste 49 hours of my life watching the majority of repetitive scenes and annoying characters.

Overhyped

I was hesitant to watch this drama but I decided to give it a try because I saw a lot of good reviews on it. However, I sorta regret it now. I felt like this drama was too overhyped for such an ok drama. The story felt very slow and draggy. It was good at first but as the story progressed I just felt like rushing to finish it to the point I skipped some parts. Not gonna lie, the pair did have good chemistry. But the storyline itself just felt really boring.

One, there wasn't enough drama/conflict between the main couple compared to other dramas. The whole entire time, it was just full of sweet moments and minor problems but it wasn't like other dramas where there may be some misunderstandings and then it leads to problems in their relationship but eventually works it out in the end. All of it was just full of cute moments that it just started to not become interesting. I feel if there was more drama then it would've made the story interesting. If you call their so-called "love triangle" a conflict, I don't count that because that love triangle eventually ended in the middle of the drama and wasn't even that interesting. I didn't really like the second couple. They were also boring. So many unnecessary scenes that I felt could've been a 16-episode drama instead.

And also, I guess this type of drama wasn't really my type where they start as good friends or awkward friends and later turn into love. I prefer couples that start off as enemies or hating each other and then turn into love which I find a lot more interesting.

Overall the drama felt really slow, draggy, and boring. The drama was overhyped.

Beautiful and bittersweet!

I decided to watch this after I found out that Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun (who played as siblings in Sweet home,) were going to be the main leads as romantic love interests! I was pretty excited because I have always shipped them after watching Sweet Home and wanted to see them finally playing as a couple.

I don't know how to describe the type of drama this is but it did revolve quite a bit around a lot of protests, democracy, and corrupt governmental stuff that I did not understand and wasn't really my cup of tea. However, the plot itself and the chemistry between Do Hyun and Min Si made the story a lot more interesting and intriguing to watch.

The chemistry between Hee Tae (Do hyun) and Myung Hee (min si) was just spot on. It felt like they were star-crossed lovers of the typical rich man who falls for poor girl type and rich man gets forced into an arranged marriage with someone else. Personally, I felt the romance in this drama is not just the typical rich man/poor woman love story, it had some small twist in it where Myung Hee's best friend, Soo Ryun, get forced into an arranged marriage with the man Myung Hee loved. Hee Tae and Soo Ryun don't like each other but they couldn't get out of it. I feel like you don't see a lot of these type of scenarios in kdramas. I always see arranged marriages happen with just a random girl popping up midway through the drama or something like that, but never a best friend.

I love Hee Tae because of how straightforward and persistent he was in winning Myung Hee over. Myung Hee of course was trying to be distant because of the circumstances but Hee Tae really didn't care and was willing to just drop everything to be with her. I was really hoping they'd be end game and stay together after the whole war or protest thingy going on ends. Unfortunately, Myung Hee died trying to save her brother and went missing for years, which I feel is so messed up. Like why must you directors end her life in this way LOLOL. I mean I don't mind sad/bittersweet endings but I just don't think Myung Hee' being killed off was necessary. Like her dad just gave her his whole bank account for her to use, live on, and take care of her brother but that same day ends up dying too like wtf. LOLOL.

Anyway, despite the ending, the story in general and chemistry between the two made this drama worth watching and I'm still satisfied. I really hope to see another miracle happen where they end up in a drama again together and maybe this time with both being alive and have a happy ending LOL.

Good drama but could've been better

I was quite interested and curious about how this Chinese ver of the series will turn out since I did watch the korean ver of this so I decided to give it a try. I binged this drama and finished it in 3 days bc I got super hooked to it. But, at one point I just really wanted to finish the drama quick to get it over with because of the following reasons:

I did like it but at the same time it was quite frustrating bc certain characters were very annoying. I felt like this drama wasn't needed for 36 episodes since most of the episodes was quite a drag. Meaning there were many unnecessary scenes that could've been shortened to at least half of the total 36 episodes. It really didn't need to be this long. The first half of the episodes were cute, even though it wasn't really needed to be that long till the time skip occurs after she left for Uruguay. The remaining episodes after that were just frustrating because like I said, it just dragged the story longer than it needed to be. The ending of the episode was quite rushed too which I was totally disappointed of. Like, they could've used the last episode or two to show some cute moments and all.

Overall, it was a good drama but could've been better if these flaws weren't in it. I don't think I'd watch rewatch it though.

Unpopular opinion: It was an okay drama but not the best either

I dropped this drama in the past maybe like twice bc I didn't like Jojo and Sun Oh together. But hearing about the buzz about this drama lately I decided to give this drama a shot again. I heard complaints about the ending of season 2 and unlike me, I thought the drama was okay but at the same time not the best either. I will combine my review for both seasons:

First, I didn't really like the first season bc I couldn't feel the connection between Jojo and Sun Oh. I didn't like Sun Oh as much either bc I thought he was sorta selfish. I mean, he was well aware that his best friend, Hye Young, liked Jojo but decided to still pursue her which was so effed up. Also, another reason why he was being selfish is his actions. Like, it frustrated me how him pursuing Jojo and making it public in season 1 bc he wanted to made a negative impact on Jojo. She was already being critically judged and hated by her high school classmates for cheating on her first bf with Sun Oh and told him she didn't wanna be too pubic about it. But he didn't listen. THEN, in season 2, bc he was really angry and willing to risk his image to win back Jojo that he went to her university to see her despite caring that everyone knows he's in a relationship with Yuk Jo. He only thought of himself and not Jojo bc people will think of her as a "mistress" bc they think she was having an affair with Sun Oh. So her university life is gonna be like crap too bc of him? Wow. He really didn't think about how his actions would've affected Jojo and only thought of himself. Although Jojo did him wrong too for deceiving him about the shield but Sun Oh was at fault too in some ways. They were both wrong in some ways imo.

Second, the whole love alarm app was quite a very frustrating technology that really made an impact on people. People relied so much on the love alarm app to see if a person truly loves them. Like with Sun Oh, he kept asking her to show her love alarm to get clarity if she still loves him or not. Then Jojo is here confused of her feelings bc she doesn't have the love alarm app to show who her feelings go for. Then Hye Young is here waiting for her to ring his love alarm to show proof that she does love him. Even he questioned her feelings for him bc of the spear despite all the actions Jojo showed to him prior that she does love him. The love alarm is just toxic in so many ways that people depend on that crap to show proof of your love for someone. The whole spear thing just made things worse and was totally unecessary. It's bad enough with the shield but adding the spear made it more complicating. They could've made it simpler where Duk Go, the developed, removed the shield so she can show her feelings to Hye Young and that's it! That was the whole point from the very beginning was to remove that but the story suddenly just went a different direction bc of the spear.

Third, as much as majority wanted SUn Oh and Jojo together, I actually wanted her to be with Hye Young in the end since season 1. And spoiler, THEY DID END UP TOGETHER IN THE END <3 I thought they had good chemistry and Hye Young was just so loving, caring, and understanding towards Jojo. He still had hope that she'd one day fall for him in which she did. He wasn't forcing himself on to her compared to Sun Oh but simply just showed his affection towards her and took it steady. The love alarm app really wasn't necessary to prove Jojo's feelings for Hye Young but they relied on it so much. Jojo CLEARLY proven and shown him physically and emotionally that she had feelings for Hye Young. She even tried so hard in meeting the developer to remove the shield in order to show she loved Hye Young to him. But they were blinded by the app that it took them this long to finally get together. I feel like Hye Young contributed a bit on Jojo's change compared to Sun Oh who just kept getting mad, trying to win her back, and etc.

Fourth, Jojo's character as like everyone said was annoying in many ways. It was annoying seeing how she was stringing both guys along bc she kept doubting and couldn't figure out her feelings for both of them. How I see it, she always loved Hye Young all along, but she was insecure and needed confirmation herself from the love app. She was a broken, insecure character with a broken childhood. She grew up being hated and had trauma from her past that it affected her relationships with people. As a lot of people complained, she could've just straight up told the truth and communicated with both guys than staying silent to herself. It would've made things less complicating if she had done so which was another flaw in this drama. But then again, there are many people in real life that are not good at confrontation or expressing their feelings bc of their fear and what they've been through. Although it's not an excuse for her to do that to both guys, but it is a reason that we have to look at as to why she did it. I felt bad for Sun Oh bc he really deserved so much better than Jojo. As for Hye Young, I felt bad for him too bc he literally waited and was hidden in the dark about the truth and not knowing her true feelings for him when she clearly could've told him herself. But she didn't until it reaches the point she was about to lose him. But I guess there was some character growth in her? She really just needed time for herself to learn to love herself again before getting into a relationship.

Overall, despite some of the flaws in the storyline and characters, it was an okay drama but not something I'd rewatch again.

This drama is a total gem :)

I was hesitant to watch this at first since I'm not really into period Chinese dramas, however, my friend highly recommended It to me so I gave it a shot.

At first, it was kinda confusing since you have to remember and take in the characters names and the number of clans that are in the story. And all these characters from different clans are connected to each other. However, I somehow got the hang of the names and the clans as I kept watching.

I wont spoil anything but dang this drama was just amazing and stressful in so many ways lol. The story is just a total gem, it really keeps you hooked and makes you wish it doesn't even end. The story is quite long since the first half of the drama is more like showing what's happened in the past before time skipping to the present. Each episode is very important to watch since a lot of those things you see will come up again in the present day. Omg, you don't know how many times I cried and got in panic mode because of this drama. It had many tear jerking and stressful scenes. What I love also it how there are certain scenes that you do NOT EVER expect would've happened.

The characters are amazing too, they play their roles really well to the point you as an audience actually begin to really really despise them. There's not really any heavy romance since it is mainly an action/suspense kind of drama. There's love interests and all but it doesn't go too into depth on it. HOWEVER, I forgot the actually term for this but there is bromance between the two male leads. Their chemistry is hands down AMAZING. In the beginning when they first met, it was pretty funny since it was more like the main guys trying to pursue a friendship while the other male lead is playing hard to get. As the story goes on, they grown to care for each other. Their friendship is very strong that they would risk their lives for each other despite them both having opposite personalities.

Overall, this Chinese drama is one of the top 3 on my chinese drama list. Highly recommend this!

Amazing chemistry!

I was really looking forward to this drama when I found out it was Jisoo and So Hyun as the main characters. However, since they changed the main lead to Na In Woo, I wasn't sure how the chemistry between them would be. However, they really exceeded my expectations and the chemistry between the two is great! I personally like these two better than Jisoo. Na In Woo is such an underrated actor but I think this was his breakout role big time. I'm also very impressed how So Hyun took on a different character role than what she usually gets in historical dramas. Taking on a dominant character role was refreshing and impressive to see how much she's grown throughout the years to be able to now take on different types of roles. She pulled it off very well. The storyline was a slow development and a bit of a drag at some points, but it all eventually leads to something.

Anyway, the chemistry between Ga Jin (so hyun) and On Dal (in woo) was spot on. Their love for each other was so pure and would really do anything and risk their lives for each other. They sacrificed a lot for each other. On Dal moved to the palace just to be with her despite not being happy there bc of the guilt of killing many people. He even killed people himself bc he didn't want Ga Jin to get her hands in blood and getting himself "killed" by taking the arrows instead of her. For Ga Jin, she was blinded and focused on her revenge that she didn't really think much of On Dal's feelings which caused a bit of a drift. Leaving the palace was the best thing for On Dal for him, even if it means separating from her. Despite her mission for revenge, she would sacrifice anything just to be with On Dall, even if it means stepping down from the palace or even sacrificing herself for him which she showed.

I felt bad for Geon but at the same time didn't? He was a semi-antagonist but eventually redeemed himself. I sorta wished they dragged out the love triangle longer between ga jin/on dal/geon cause it was getting interesting. Idk after the 4 year time skip if he and mo yong were technically together it was hard to tell seeing how he's focused on other things. Even though he did say he loved Mo Yong, but I think there's still a part of him that is still in love with Ga Jin, which is why Mo Yong questioned his feelings since all he thought about was Ga Jin's safety.

I was a little bit thrown off with the ending because I thought they would actually show the actual war once ON Dal and Ga Jin came back for the war. But it ended pretty quick and no one seemed hurt which is quite odd. But it caught me off guard and I cried when On Dal died right in front of her. I thought it was going to be a good ending -__- Ga Jin decided to leave the palace and go back to the mountain where On Dal stayed. Even though she succeeded in her revenge and was suppose to achieve her goal of becoming king/queen, but she gave that up bc she wasn't happy in the palace anymore without Dal. THENN tables have turned and it turns out he faked his death since he was taught by the monk of a way to feign his death, which resulted in him losing his memory. I was quite shocked and thought I was hallucinating when he appeared again. I loved how they made the ending. I thought they were gonna level it as an open ending where he'll eventually get his memories back overtime after the drama is over. But they showed he regained his memory, they kissed, and lived happily ever after,. I CRIED SO MUCH. I did feel like the ending was quite rushed which was a bit of a con in this drama. But overall, it was a drama I genuinely enjoyed. I would watch it again for the chemistry between the two main leads.

Nice e sports drama but could've been better!

This drama was pretty good as I expected. I took an interest in this drama because of how similar it was to the 2019's esports Chinese drama Gank Your Heart (which I find still better). The storyline was similar to Gank Your Heart but had few differences.

I liked how they added something new of having a girl (Tong Yao) actually being added as a player, which caught many fan's attention since it is VERY rare to see a girl be in an esports team. This is not usual to see because esports as the stereotype would call it are mainly for boys and not girls. Throughout the drama, Tong Yao received criticisms left and right about her being a flirt, rude, and etc. from netizens bc of situations she got into. However, despite being a girl, she showed tremendous gaming skills and proved to everyone that she, as a girl, is as best at gaming as other guys are. It was a great message shown in this drama to break those gender stereotypes. Also, this drama showed the sad reality of how parents are towards computer gaming as a career since they do not see it as anything but a hobby or fun pleasure. Parents cannot accept their child doing gaming as a career because of the fear of not becoming successful in life. Therefore, they in most cases disown them which was shown clearly in this drama when Ai Jia's mother disowned him. However, this drama showed a great message of how computer gaming CAN be a career and people can become successful.

I also love how they added the visual effects of the anime characters they play in the drama. It's quite more realistic to see and understand more than just keep watching through just a computer screen. It's better just visually showing the characters fight themselves and the cool effects.

The romance between Tong Yao and Si Cheng was very cute. There wasn't anything different or special about their romance storyline since it seemed quite cliche, BUT they do have good chemistry. The romance was a very slow development, but it is understandable considering how they are leader/teammate kind of relationship and it wouldn't be that easy to just get into a romantic relationship. You don't see a lot of teammate/leader type of relationships in dramas so it was quite new for me. Despite Tong Yao's hesitance, I love how Si Cheng was very affectionate towards her and did not care what others thought about their relationship and would most likely sacrifice a lot for it. At some points, Si Cheng freaked me out on how pervy he acted towards her during their relationship but it's funny seeing this side of him at the same time.

One flaw I found in this drama is how there's very little conflict between the couple. The whole entire drama was basically all cute, romance, cliche and very little conflict is shown in the drama which made at one point their romance storyline boring. Also, I sorta wished they dragged on the "love triangle" between Tong Yao, Si Cheng, and Jian Yang longer than ending it halfway. It probably would've made the romance storyline a bit interesting, less repetitive, and even affect how they perform on their matches.

I felt quite bad for Si Cheng's brother because he literally only played like once or twice out of all the championship matches in the drama. Like I guess it's understandable since he is only like a backup in case Tong Yao can't. But I felt as if his character wasn't as significant as the drama was trying to show he was. If they had given him some spotlight at times then maybe his character would have something. I found the back story behind Si Cheng's brother's scandal quite sad and interesting to hear about which cleared up a lot of misunderstandings about him.

As for other flaws, this may be my opinion bc of how I'm comparing this drama to Gank You Heart. Usually, dramas like this show how people or teams go through this journey and face obstacles in reaching the top of winning the championship. Like you'd be able to see character developments and maybe even sympathize with some characters because of how hard they r working to get there and the obstacles they have to overcome. For this drama... I didn't feel that. Although it is an esports drama, I felt as if the drama focused too much on the romance storylines of Tong Yao/Si Cheng and Jin Yang/Ai Jia. Like yeah they did show some parts of obstacles such as controversies the teams got themselves into but I didn't see any character development nor anything interest about their esports storyline bc of how it seems quite predictable how they're winning like almost every single match. Like there's no sort of twist of conflict that could make viewers find the esports aspect of the drama interesting or emotional towards characters. I would rather watch an esports drama that had the romance and a slice of life type of feeling where it takes you down the road on the team's struggles in reaching the top and their character development as the story progresses than just keep watching predictable scenes over and over again and a load of cliche romance.

Despite some of the flaws, I still enjoyed this drama. It is personally not as best as Gank Your Heart but it's still worth and an enjoyable drama to watch about esports and romance

Interesting plot but has some flaws

Literally finished this drama in 3 days LOL. I actually liked this drama. The plot was interesting as it dealt with a girl, Fang Yan, who has a sleepwalking disorder due to a traumatic event. And there's this cold guy, Shi Meng, who basically just works and doesn't really care about anything else. Of course, the typical starting off as enemies first and turns into love shortly after. I actually liked the built-up of their relationship. I found it more interesting and less cringey compared to when they officially got together in which they were VERY cringey LOL.Fortunately, this drama did not only revolve around the couple falling in love. It had interesting subplots to it in which connects to why they are really meant to be. Probably if it weren't for those other subplots, I would've dropped this drama cause it would've full of cringey moments. But this story actually went somewhere and connected the pieces together.

However, there were some flaws. I felt like there were still unsolved issues. Like, it was never really specified in the end if she had completely cured her illness (sleepwalking disorder). Like yeah, the psychiatrist said that Shi Meng being by her side and regaining her memories would most likely heal her. But they never really showed in the end if it really did. So I can't really see/say for sure that her illness was entirely cured.

Also, her illness was described that she would sleepwalk whenever she gets shocked/scared of something that pops up in front of her (example a scary doll). However, there were times in the drama where she encountered scared/shocked moments but never had a sleepwalking spell.. And that kinda threw me off and disappointed me since they did not really portray the psychological condition well enough.

Despite all this, I still enjoyed the drama!

One of the best Chinese dramas I've watched

I will try not to put any spoilers as much as possible for the sake of the curious watchers who want to watch this drama! But seriously, this drama is just hands down GREAT! I usually complain about how some Chinese dramas I noticed would unnecessarily make 30+ episodes since they just seem to drag the story. HOWEVER, this one wasn't a drag at all because it really takes you through the journey of the main character's ups and downs as they struggle to reach the top.

This drama definitely used up the episodes to walk and show the viewers the struggles the main leads go through to reach their goals in their careers. There was also great character growth which I also really liked because they were able to change for the better. Other than the romance, I found the plot revolving around e-sports really interesting since I was never familiar with e-sports so this was quite new for me. And the struggle for both the main leads to reach their goal because of the villains and misunderstandings and etc. And omfg the villains though are just OMG ur really gonna like have this urge to want to punch them because they were just so frustrating XD.

There are two things that I do have a complaint on. Of course, in a romance drama, there's always a love triangle so I don't see this as a spoiler LOL. But all I will say that there are two love triangles. For one of the love triangles, I felt like they could've made the storyline for that love triangle a bit longer. Like yeah, they slowly built it up throughout the drama but it didn't reach that breaking point until the last minute. And shoot I was already getting worked up with that love triangle too so it was disappointing that it happened and ended so quickly. THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY SO THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE SPOILER LOL. And lastly, towards the end of the drama, there was a certain girl that just I don't know why keeps unnecessarily popping up in the drama when literally I thought her storyline had ended in the middle of the drama (You will know who I am talking about when you do watch it). I felt like her showing up again was just not necessary but I guess they brought her back to add a filler to the story.

Anyway, I really liked this drama! One of the best Chinese dramas I've watched. I would definitely recommend it for everyone who's curious to watch this. You won't regret it. :)

One of the best korean rom/com period dramas I've watched

Came across this on mydramalist and decided to give this drama try when I saw the high rating on it. So when I did, I am so glad I did give this drama a chance because it is one of the most hilarious and interest period korean dramas I've seen!

The story was quite different and unique than usual period dramas. I don't recall watching any dramas that have a storyline of a man from the future possessing a WOMAN's body from the past during the Joseon era. It's especially funny how this drama included sexual humor in scenes. As far as I remember, not a lot of kdramas do this so I was surprised how accepted it was in this drama. But it was super hilarious, especially when they have to bleep it out as characters were explaining inappropriate "things" LOL.

The actors/actresses definitely played their role well. I have to give Hye Sun (playing as the Queen Kim So Yong) major compliments on her acting. Being able to play 2 different characters and even splendid acting on chaotic scenes where her character is freaking out like a psychopath and acting like a casanova while also playing a humble, quiet girl is not something you'd expect to see in a lot of female characters. The chemistry between the main couple was really good too. Their bickering , sweet, and erotic moments were just all hilarious and cute to me that I just couldn't get enough of them!

As I've seen in some comments about the ending, I am 50/50 on it. I was satisfied with how everything ended smoothly and that the main couple stayed together in the end. However, the fact that it was mainly Bong Hwan in So Yong's body throughout this entire time and the fact that Cheoljong technically fell in love with Bong Hwan was what bothered me a bit. Because prior to Bong Hwan possessing her body, Cheoljong hated So Yong. But when Bong Hwan took over, Cheoljong started to take notice in "So Yong" with her arrogant, loud, kinda crazy personality and eventually fell in love with her.

However, in my perspective/understanding of this drama, even though Bong Hwan was in So Yong's body, there was still a part of the real So Yong that is shown throughout the drama. Like a mix of both characters' personalities taking over So Yong's body. Because I remember how Bong Hwan would be yelling at So Yong that's inside her body for doing some actions that he did not want to do (ex: in ep 9 when Cheoljong and BongHwan/Soyong were about to do "it" haha) and Cheljong was just staring in confusion. So I feel as if Cheoljong, either way, did fall for So Yong and Bong Hwan I guess? lol. Idk that's just my understanding of this it could be different for everyone.

The love triangle between So Yong, Cheoljong, and Byung In was really sad. Although I was a So Yong/Cheljong ship, I felt really bad for Byung In. His one-sided love for her broke my heart. And the fact that he risked his life and died to save So Yong made me cry so much (yes I legit cried). It made me heated when I saw that his body was still up in the mountain in the same position before he died. Like what! No one even went to look for his body and just left him there dead beat cold? Im glad So Yong and the others went back to properly bury him. His father is legit evil and trash for betraying his son like that for power. I lightweight wished he had a happy ending. But then again, this is a period drama, there's always gonna be at least one good person that will be sacrificed to die -_-

For Hwa Jin, I do get irritated with her character sometimes, however, I don't think I see her as an evil character in the drama. Like yeah she did some evil things to So Yong but that was all due to major misunderstandings and an act of jealousy. I mean, that's what two people usually do if you hate each other, especially if you thought one killed one of your loved ones? I've seen dramas where antagonists go to major extremes on wanting to harm the protagonist but she really just wanted So Yong out of the picture bc of the misunderstandings and her love for Cheoljong. She eventually redeemed herself in the end and they both made up after clearing the misunderstandings.

And the bond between So Yong and her maids is just ADORABLE!!! <3 Their bond was so strong like they were legit best friends. I swear I freaked out when I thought Lady Choi and Hong Yeon died bc they legit sacrificed themselves for So Yong. Even if they weren't her maids, they prob still would've done the same thing for So Yong bc of how much they cared for her. I think this is one of the pros in this drama is that they showed great relationships among all characters here.

Overall, this drama was very enjoyable and something I'd watch again even though the ending was a bit off.

Cute typical young man/older woman drama!

Decided to watch this because of Dylan Wang! This drama is your typical young man/older woman romance drama, which isn't anything new or special. I wasn't sure about the chemistry between Dylan and the female lead, however, they actually had good chemistry than I thought.

The drama was a very slow development leading up to their relationship. They legit didn't get together until like less than 10 episodes left of the drama. I honestly don't think the drama had to be dragged out that long. But a lot of the sub-storylines such as Ruo Xin's best friend's marriage life and Qi Xiao's best friends' relationship took up a lot of screentime. Especially Ruo Xin's best friend, who struggled with her marriage with her husband due to different opinions about wanting children, had A LOT of VERY repetitive scenes where just argue about the same thing about children. I had to skip a few scenes of theirs bc it just became very repetitive. This was one of the biggest cons of this drama that made me drop my rating by a lot due to how they dragged out that storyline was when not necessary.

The chemistry between Ruo Xin and Qi Xiao was not bad. I admired how Qi Xiao was very mature for his young age and was able to support and take care of Ruo Xin who is 12 years older than him. This drama sent out a good message about the norms of big age-difference relationships between a young man/older woman and how it's not always the man that has to be older to provide for the woman. It showed realistic obstacles of how many people view these type of relationships in society and how they see it as unacceptable or embarrassing when really it's not. Young man/older woman relationships is not something to be ashamed or worry about because it's just like any type of romantic relationship. As long as you both are serious and love each other, that's all it matters. This drama breaks those norms about relationships and how it should be accepted in a society which I think is one of the pros of this drama.

There were two love triangles that occurred throughout the drama. However, they didn't really last long which is what I was quite disappointed about. But I guess the love triangle isn't really supposed to be a big storyline in the drama since it mainly revolved around Ruo Xin and Qi Xiao's slow development from employees to lovers. But I love love triangles so it's only just a preference.

Overall, it was a good drama. But I don't think I'd rewatch this again due to how long and dragged it is and having to watch the many repetitive scenes that are not even necessary.
