A story based on harsh reality and unique compared to other BLs.

This is my opinion, please keep that in mind. I don't condone everything, but I do appreciate the show as a whole.

I actually have mixed feelings about this show. I liked the realism, but disliked the immorality of Hai Qing and Yanfie's actions which could have been avoided if they broke up with their respective partners before getting together.

Let's start with Yanfie and Jimmy-- I at first felt sorry for Jimmy, because Yanfie came off as an asshole, but later on I realized these two were both to blame. Jimmy was... Too selfish in how he thought, and while I get the not wanting to be hidden, he should have respected that Yanfie didn't want to tell his mom. Plus, he was creepy for preying on Hai Qing, and that weirded me out. Other than that and a few other things, I was okay with Jimmy's portrayal of a real person. Now, Yanfie, I liked him at first (and still kinda do) but as he started to show little self control around Hai Qing (flirting with him even with his boyfriend nearby, then making Hai Qing promise to continue calling him). I just feel as though, there should have been so more pining done, some sort of build up and tension that would explode and that would make sense for them to cheat, but instead neither Hai Qing or Yanfie considered any factors other than thinking with their d*cks (fight me if you want, this is what they were doing the whole show.)

Now: Baby Ping.
I wouldn't have been so against the cheating if it had a build up, or if Ping was an asshole or just rude or toxic, instead you choose the least flawed and most kindhearted character in the whole show to get heartbroken and used. However, that also gives this show some foundation for how the world is. Hai Qing wanted what Ping could give him--the gifts, the reassurance, attention, love and such-- but refused to actually think of whether or not he was feeling love or maybe a sense of dependence and attachment? I feel as though Ping was just a replacement for his father's absence. Hai Qing only took the initiative when he cheated on Yanfie, out of guilt.

My thing is: if you're gonna have your main leads cheat with one another on their partners, then give me tension, give me build up and let that passion, that desire explode and maybe I'd be willing to accept it (not condone, never condone cheating). However, this show has a lot of good things about it: The realistic portrayal of people and life, weirdness, the selfishness and the mixture of four men who are all meeting and interacting. I gotta say this is one of the best representations of adult life I've seen in BLs so far. Is it unfair? Yes. But that makes this show better. Give review some thought and see if you want to go on this journey.

The things that should have been addressed... but were instead ignored (no hate, just my opinion)

I loved the story between these two, but some things needed to be addressed, such as; One, the fact that Ton was so homophobic and his Dad only accepting him if he promised what he promised in episode 10. Second, Chonlatee almost getting raped in the bathroom and no one talking about it or even comforting him (because he's a man which in this situation gender shouldn't matter) and Chonlatee's character accepted it so well... But he literally would have been raped if Ton hadn't gotten there in time. I feel as though in reality Chonlatee should've been more shocked, more overwhelmed or fazed by the fact that he would be taken advantage of... instead it was used to propel the story into Chonlatee and Ton's relationship. I loved the actors, the story itself was beautiful, but there are a lot of things that should have been talked about or at least mentioned once after it happening.

Like how goddamn stupid it was for Ton to do what he did in episode 9 (you'll see) and was shocked when Chon didn't believe the excuse he gave. I know it was only 10 episodes so they didn't have much space for too much detail and I loved the show, I expecially loved Ton and Chonlatee together. Episode 10 kinda bullshitted, though, with what Ton agreed to (despite being so young) and that Chonlatee was ready to go along with it (I understand that it was the only way for them to be together, but c'mon, I would have liked a conversation about it at least) with more space and more detail the story would be over the top, but I think the actors and humor saved it. The scenery was nice, as well. Please don't come for me, I'm not judging you for watching this show or wanting to watch it because it is a good show and very funny, if you like humor and cute moments along with a shirtless Pod (the actor of Ton) then go for it and enjoy it. This is my opinion and you may not agree which is okay, please just watch if you really want to. Make up your own mind about this show or just decide not to watch it, stuff happens. Bye!
