Good concept but bad characters.
I like the story being told, but the characters were very annoying. The only one that I actually rooted for was the female lead. I can understand why she ended up with the attitude that she has because of her childhood. The need for attention and affection even if those were not really genuine. After all these years of seeing this type of male lead in moves, dramas, novels, etc (the rude and domineering / borderline-verbal-abuse type guy), I still don't understand how women can think that these types of men are "so hot" and "cute". Maybe this is how so many women end up in abusive relationships. Who knows... I'm not an expert.Male lead is a insert-expletive-here. The only person that he seems to be able to have a spine with is the Female lead. Right off the bat, he insults her... talks down to her like she's an idiot. On the other hand, he gets thrown on the ground by her manager and just lays there. He gets punched in the face by her "boyfriend" and he just takes if. Gets yelled at, bribed, and threatened by her Agent... he just looks down at his toes and just takes the abuse. There's a scene near the beginning where her Agent is screaming abuses at her right in front of him... and he just stands there like a wuss staring at his toes... again. Women actually like and are attracted to this type of men? Really? Even if he doesn't have the spine to stand up for her or protect her, you would think that he'd at least be able to stand up for himself. This is what men who abuse women are like. They're too afraid to have a spine outside of the house, so they come home and abuse the ones that won't stand up to them.
Female lead is actually the best character. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it. She's impulsive, but she also has a spine and will stand up for herself as well as for others. The only flaw of hers that I see is that she's like a magnet for abusive and creepy men. I guess nice guys as male leads don't sell tickets... or maybe women just aren't attracted to them. Bad boys must be a thing, eh? "Ohhh, slap me some more! A few more insults, please?"
The Male lead's "best" friend. As the saying goes, "with friends like these, who needs enemies?". Seriously, I wouldn't keep a person like that anywhere close to me. You're supposed to be able to trust your best friend with your deepest, darkest secrets. I wouldn't trust this guy to wash my socks.
The ML's ex-girlfriend... after the horrible things he said to her while dumping her the first time, I'm still not sure why she was willing to come back for seconds. People don't really change. If a relationship doesn't work out the first time, most likely, it won't work the second time either. Rare that it does and it does happen, but the majority of the time is just a repeat of the first time.
The Agent/boss... I guess, if you want money and fame that much, you might put up with that kind of abuse at work. I hear that this happens often in South Korea's entertainment industry, so maybe it's actually on-point.
Humorous characters like the aunties are ok, but, honestly, how does any person get to that age and still act like 12 year-olds?

The premise is actually pretty good. The first half of episode 1 is actually very interesting. Then it got stupid... very fast. A lot of the plot twists are not very believable. Misunderstandings that could have been cleared up by just saying or doing something simple got dragged out longer than it needed to be. This process made the characters appear very dim-witted. The only smart characters are the bad guys. All the good guys are either spoiled, stupid, or selfish... or all of the above. By the time I got halfway through episode 13, I was starting to route for the bad to just kill them all off so I don't have to be so angry at them anymore... for their god-level stupidity.
The acting from everyone is... let's just say that I've seen better acting from grade school kids. A lot of the lines were delivered very flat or else came across very forced. The writing and acting should share equal fault in this. It might have helped a little if they had gotten more suitable actors? Maybe a better director? Definitely needed a better writer. During times when the atmosphere was dark and stressful... when they were supposedly talking or dealing with doom and gloom... the actors would crack these stupid and goofy smiles. Situations where a "normal" person in the real world would think "I shouldn't behave this way", these guys go in the complete opposite direction (again, even most kids wouldn't behave this way). It's almost like these reason for these choices are only there to prolong and try to increase unnecessary tension.
It's hard to imagine that these "gods", who have been living and doing their jobs for thousands of years, can behave like this. Where's the level-headed thinking? Where's the god level sense of responsibility? Maybe act more mature... like a normal adult? With gods like these... no wonder the world is falling apart.
Anyway, I'm done with this drama.. on to the next one. It can't be much worse.

It's a bird! It's a plane! NO, it's Cat-Boy!
Oddly, I enjoyed this drama.I see a lot of reviews here and elsewhere complaining about plot, acting, "how can she choose to love a CAT?", and "she should have ended up with the HUMAN!".
Let's see... plot. It's about a girl and a cat-boy. How realistic can it get?
Acting... It's about a girl and a cat-boy. I'm not watching it while expecting it to win an award at Canne's or even an Oscar.
"How can she choose to love a CAT?" Well... it's about a girl and a cat-boy! Seriously though, for all the ones going "ewww", what's wrong with falling in love with a cat? Now, if he was just a normal cat and not cat-boy, then I can understand a bit of the "ewww" thing. If we are only discriminating for human on human, then we should also say "ewww" to elves, robots, aliens, witches, demons, and everything else too.
"She should have ended up with the HUMAN!" See above paragraph. In a way, this close-minded view makes me a little sad. This reminds me of all the racism in the real world. White should only be with White. Black should be with Black. Rich should only be with Rich. Poor should only be with Poor.
Basically, what it comes down to is this... it's about a girl and a cat-boy! The most annoying thing when I went to watch Star Wars with some friends years ago is when they start complaining about the movie... "That's NOT possible!". Really? It's about space ships, robots, lasers, aliens, and... Jedis that can use super mind powers!
When watching dramas like this, it's probably best to check Reality at the door in order to enjoy it. The drama never took itself seriously anyway, so why should we?
Would I watch it again? Yes, some day when I need to escape from reality for a little while... escape from all the thieving, cheating, murders, and wars in the world.

Great acting all around...
I'd have to say that the acting from most of the supporting cast are nearly perfect. They made you like the ones you're supposed to like and despise the ones that you're supposed to despise. For an actor to get you to really dislike their character is an artform. The ML is only OK to me because his character here is pretty much the same character that he's portrayed before in other shows. Not bad, but not great either... nothing really stands out. The FL did a much better job. She was able to show her emotions with facial expressions and body language, most of the time, without resorting to screaming and throwing a tantrum. The only negative for me is the way all the other supporting characters were written. It's pretty much the same formula over and over... making me tired of it. If we were to just go by Cdramas and Kdramas, we can say that all asian families are screwed up, evil, calculating, controlling, and don't really care about their own children's true happiness. Being Asian myself, I can understand the traditional family loyalties and responsibilities, but this isn't from 100 years ago. In present times, most Asian families have already gravitated away from this kind of strict family hierarchy. Again, as an Asian person, I would like to give a little advice to these drama writers... keep portraying Asian families as screwed up as this and eventually, the rest of the world will start to believe that all Asians families are like that.
In reality, although there are families like that, they are few and unique... and come from all races and ethnic groups. Sons are given slightly more value than daughters, but not that extreme extent. Most Asian families these days give equal value to both. Again, I'd like to tell these writers to maybe not go this extreme or else risk having the international community view Asian parents in this way. Just like American movies... Dirty Harry, Rambo, Die Hard, etc which has made most the rest of the world believe that every American is a gun-toting murderous psychopath and that every town and city is filled with crooks, thieves, and muggers.
The FL's father and mother are both worthless human beings... never mind as parents. The dad's actions are pretty much child abuse... abuse doesn't always have to be physical. I'm surprised the daughters aren't traumatized for life being told over and over again... and treated like they are worth less. The mom is just as guilty for letting her husband get away with it and doing nothing to protect her children. The best parent out of the bunch is the ML's father... which is funny because he's the only parent that was written with a "shady" past.
I just wish writers would give these ML's and FL's more backbone. Then again, that wouldn't cause enough tension and stress to build the drama. Imagine the ML and FL being able to just tell people to bug off and live their own lives. The filial responsibilities between parents and children isn't a master/slave relationship. Just giving birth to a child doesn't give the parents unquestioned authority to abuse and control their children to that extent. Parents should be there to guide and support instead.

Started off with good premise but went off rail really fast
The plot synopsis sounded okay. That's what got my interest. The interactions between the 2 leads in the first 20 episodes were pretty good too.Fist of all, I wasn't expecting that the brother/sister combo developed romantic feelings BEFORE they found out that they weren't blood related. Personally, I find that pretty sick and twisted. As an older brother with a few younger sisters, I can't even contemplate that kind of situation. Just thinking about that kind of thing makes me want to puke my guts out.
Another thing... the disabled bad guy? Yeah, been there, done that also. Growing up, there was this disabled kid in our school. He sucked up to all the big bullies and used them as backers in order to bully other kids. Of course, they never bullied me, but they eventually went after one of my friends. I asked them to stop, they didn't. I went to the teachers and Vice Principal about it... they did nothing. Unfortunately for the crippled kid, he lived near me. Yeah, I beat the crap out of him and threatened him to leave my friend alone... cus his buddies won't always be with him 24 hours a day. Did he change his behavior? No.. but at least they stopped bullying my friend.
I truly believe in equality for men, women, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc.. but I do NOT condone nor accept anyone who uses those qualities as an excuse to hurt others. Equality means being treated the EXACT same as anyone else... black or white. It makes no difference when a guy, whether in a wheelchair or not, stabs someone. He should be sent to prison to be Bubba's girlfriend just the same. Being disabled is not an excuse, not should anyone be feeling sorry for him just because of it. Equality is not the same as Special Treatment. When people cry about inequality but what they are asking for is special treatment instead, I feel no pity for that kind of person.
Making a guy in a wheelchair be the bad guy is pretty stupid. It doesn't always bring good opinions towards the disabled. Most likely, it may cause others to despise them instead for using their weakness as a weapon.
IMO, both of these families are pretty sick and twisted. They probably shouldn't be allowed to have children to carry on their genes. You have one bro/sis combo that wants to do the tango. You have another bro/bro combo that wants to destroy each other. If my family were to behave that way, I would disown them and go live in a cave in order to contemplate why the people of this world is so screwed up and disgusting.
Honestly, this drama has caused me to lose a little more faith in humanity. Normal human beings shouldn't behave this way.
