While watching Secret Love, I was initially sucked in because this felt so different from the rest of the kdramas out there. I use to be a big fan of the genre, but then I realized that almost all of them followed the same formula, so I stopped.

I'm slowly getting back to kdramas, so I picked this one up and at first I was all in. I loved every moment of this show. The acting was top notch and the story, at least in the beginning, was complex and unique.

I loved it!

So why the 7?

Well, what I loved about the show was the complexity of everything and how everyone was flawed. As the show progressed and more secrets were revealed, I thought that it would continue to add to the depth of the characters, instead I got the same kdrama. Rich guy falls in love with poor girl. Poor girl has a guy that likes her and the rich guy has a girl that likes him. Drama ensues.

I can accept that. What I couldn't accept was this love story. Min Hyuk and Yoo Jeong just didn't make any sense as lovers. Min Hyuk had some reverse Stockholm Syndrome where he fell in love with the person he was tormenting. It came about from obsession and then he loves her. It made sense. But for Yoo Jeong to love him back all of a sudden? No. That never made sense and never felt authentic to me. After five years of being harassed and tormented, you don't just suddenly say "I love you too."

I also felt like the story dropped the ball with Do Hoon, who was the most interesting character on the show. He's been brought up in a family that expects him to be the best, but still keep his morals intact. That all changes when he allows Yoo Jeong to take the fall for him. Him getting close to Min Hyuk and trying to destroy him seemed to be his ways of making amends, but in the end I really didn't know what he was doing.

I enjoyed my time watching this and was eagerly waiting for the next episode to appear so I could watch it, but now that everything is said and done, was this really all that different from the rest of the kdramas out there? Kind of, but not really. There's a lot of plot holes and the ending was rushed. I just wasn't satisfied when it was done.

I am in the minority with this, so if you think this might be something you'd like then check it out, but if you are looking for something new in the kdrama world then I don't think you'll find it here.

Serina loves her husband a lot. She lives only to please him and is more than happy to do so. She doesn’t understand that this sort of clingy behaviour is the reason why her husband, Fumi-kun, doesn’t want to be around her anymore. But all that changes when she meets Jinnai, a private detective who was originally tracking Serina.

Serina starts working for Jinnai and each episode chronicles a case she’s working on. The case plays a role with her own love life and she starts to change for the better. Plus, it looks like Jinnai starts looking at her in a different light too.

There is also Fumi-kun, Serina’s despicable husband. He’s involved with his boss, the Chief. The reasons why he’s doing this is for Serina’s dad, but the entire situation between them is getting messier with each passing episode. The actor is quite good. You go from hating Takefumi, to liking him. I was surprised how my feelings changed.

The show has a great story, the characters are not only wonderfully acted but show growth as well. The last scene in the show was predictable, but it fit the light theme of this drama.

Definitely check this out! This is not only cute, but as the series goes on it really sucks you in.

I love when Korean Dramas are different from the usual Romantic Comedy crop that we always see. So when I watched the first episode, I was really excited that this would be the drama to watch. A time traveling mystery sounds right up my alley.

Unfortunately, despite the great acting from everyone, I found this to be really predictable and tedious. Almost right away you know who killed Saet Byul, which is fine. There are times when you solve the mystery quickly, but you still enjoy the story as all of the secrets are unraveled and the characters try to figure things out. Only, I didn't.

I know saving Saet Byul is what any parent would do, but I found Soo Hyun really stupid at times. Good acting, but really stupid character. It's one thing to do everything in your power to save your daughter, but Soo Hyun was just reckless. Save your daughter, I'm with you. But you don't need to kill yourself before she's even kidnapped. Then both of you are dead and that doesn't solve anything.

I watched 4.5 episodes of this drama then dropped it, because the story started to get really tedious and boring. I watched the last episode and it confirmed my suspicions in the start of the drama.

I'm glad that this was still out there though, as the kdrama market really needs more shows like this out there.
