I really enjoyed this show. And it is still one of my favorites.
So why did I like this? It just sounds so cliché...
Like, you know: Meeting someone through e-mails and loving him while hating the real life person yaddayadda...

Still this drama leaves a very warm feeling. It's nothing you have never seen before, that is for sure. But it provides a lot of memorable scenes and you gradually get to know and love all the characters (well, all except one... which is the "boku"guy.... He's too weird to like. Too weird... Believe me.)
And at least one character will totally surprise you at the end of the show.

Also there are some e-mail messages that I'll never forget in my whole life. Haven't forgotten them for 5 years, so I guess, I'll remember them in another 5 years too~ Some very very wonderful lines written by both of them that make you start to think about life itself and about love.

The music is not that great. But there is that once piano piece that keeps returning nearly every episode and that I loved so much.
And it actually has an important role~ But that you have to find out yourself.

The whole show is really slow paced. 12 episodes, a few e-mails and a lot of meeting-people in between. Still you don't get bored with it. Rather you want to see more of the two main characters spending some time together.

It's a wonderful romantic drama. If you want to watch something for the heart, it's a good choice. But you have to deal with the slow pace...
Enjoy it~~

A wonderful movie. I loved it.
Why?

The story:
A man is in love, but his love leaves him with a sticky note... He is lost afterwards and ends up in a certain street where he gets work in a copy shop. He gets to meet various people there. One of them is the girl drawing sheep comics on the exam papers of the cram school she is working for...
One day, he decides to draw an answer on one of the exam papers...

A story about seperation and how people deal with it.

I really enjoyed watching this movie. Although it's a bit slow and weird sometimes, it's cute and leaves a very warm feeling behind.
A comforting movie actually.

There are some cartoons shown of the cute little sheep and the wolf... Very sweet to watch. I wanted to see more sheep and wolf cartoons in the end~~
Also some very nice effects picturing the emotions of the characters quite well. For me it was a pleasure to watch it. Very nice pictures, cute dialogues, interesting characters, sad moments, very happy moments and a completely awesome moment at the end.

If you are looking for a lot of sweet romance, this might be the wrong movie. If you like slice-of-life like stories, you might enjoy this a lot.

I just finished watching it and decided to write a review...

First thing you have to know: It's based on an ongoing Manga. Wich means: The story is still incomplete. You can sense that in the last few episodes of the drama.
There are still a lot of open questions. Some bother me more than others. After finishing watching it, I want more, so I can get my answers. A good sign actually.

Also: It might not be such a bad idea to google some characters, since there is not everything explained within the drama. I studied Japanese history at university, so I know most of these people. Trust me, it's a lot easier to follow, if you have at least a little bit of background knowledge. And it is more fun, to watch and think: "Oh, I KNOW this person." I love these moments.
And it will help you understand some things that are natural and common for Japanese, but seem difficult to grasp for everyone else.

Well, the story itself is not that great. Some modern day cook gets to be the chef of Oda Nobunaga cooking some modern dishes in the warring states period of Japan. Well, Japanese do love food. I get to notice that once again.
He has to cook his way out of troubles or right into them. It's cute and trust me, you do get hungry. The things Ken cooks look delicious.
Also there is no red string that ties all the episodes together. Ken never really asks himself why he forgot everything and why he ended up in the warring states period. Basically we are just following history's script with a cook in the middle.

There is also a little romance. I say: Little. Don't expect something breathtakingly romantic. It's just two people sticking together.
I don't really understand why they should "love" eachother. Still the drama hints to that.

As to the characters: I'm not sure. Some I totally loved, some I really hated and found utterly annoying.
Natsu for example. I think she was supposed to be kind of cute. Trying to dress up as a man so she can be a blacksmith. Just that, she is so annyoing that you are happy to not see her sometimes.

Well, Ken was great. He should be. I loved him. He is actually the main reason why I kept watching. Because I simply wanted to know what will happen to him.
And I just love to see him present the food. Haha...

On to the music:
I really like Yoshihiro Ike. I love his music a lot. But, at some points I felt it didn't fit the situation. Yoshihiro Ike makes cute music, lovely music. It somehow won't fit with Nobunaga on the battlefield. Though he again made some memorable pieces...

It's a cute drama. Don't expect too much of it though. It sometimes warms your heart. And it definitely makes you want to eat something delicious.
I'm hoping for a second season though. It just feels unfinished.

Enjoy your drama!
