The setting is quite new considering this genre of Chinese gl shorts. I haven't seen many set in Republic-era China before. Like I mentioned in the headline, this show also does a lot in four minutes. Rather than a stereotypical dynamic, this is about a lawyer's wife trying to help her old friend who is stuck in an abusive relationship except due to the time period, they both have very limited rights. The girls also get a mostly happy ending together. It's ALSO a shampoo ad. I would happily watch a full-length series about this concept.
