20th Century Girl Review - ZyKuu

This one cut deep into the heart. A must recommend for anyone who loves romance and sad endings. This film is the definition of K-Trauma. The two main leads Bo-ra and Woon-ho were a perfect pairing and their chemistry was incredible. There were a couple intense scenes between Bo-ra and Woon-ho that lead to me being very emotional. One scene in particular was so saddening that I began crying, and this was due to the reason that every single aspect of this scene was perfectly orchestrated. In addition, the performances by both actors during these climatic moments were heartfelt and as a viewer made you feel empathetic towards them. The choice of OST was precise as I felt that the music played behind each scene heavily emphasized the magnitude of each moment, especially during the most saddening scenes. Overall this was a phenomenal film that will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Soulmate Review - ZyKuu

A film that paints the story of two soulmates, Ha-eun and Mi-so. This movie takes you through the timeline of when the two main leads first met till the very end. The acting was amazing, you could feel the emotion and pain the characters were experiencing through the screen. The story did get confusing at some points, and you will be questioning things afterwards, but I believe that the premise of the film was delivered clearly. I loved the relationship between Ha-eun and Mi-so as they displayed what true friendship means. The character development in this film is beautiful and I loved the concept of death and life shown through both characters.

Summer Strike Review - ZyKuu

The small village of Angok is a special place filled with special people. This drama was very entertaining and unpredictable at times. The show successfully incorporated different genres like romance, mystery, and melodrama. The OST perfectly suited the theme and environment of the show. The cast was spectacular as I feel that majority of the characters nailed their roles. The main leads Yeo-reum and Dae-bum were a special pairing. Their chemistry was innocent and gentle. Ji-young and Sung-min had an entertaining dynamic, and it felt wholesome to see their bond get stronger over time. The sidecast had a couple standout performances like Geun-ho, Geun-ho's mother, and Bom's father. Bom's father in particular broke me not only once, but twice. I appreciated Bom's family dynamic because it displayed a realistic situation that exists in many households today, thus making a connection with the viewers. I loved how this show made life feel relatable and taught valuable life lessons along with it. This show inspires me to live in a village and experience life through a different lense. There was a calming peace in watching the people of Angok go about their daily lives. All in all, this was an amazing show that I recommend everyone to give a try!

Move to Heaven Review - ZyKuu

This drama was very powerful! The cast was the standout for me as I believed that the three main leads nailed their roles. Geu-ru played his role perfectly as he had to become a 20 year old with a developmental condition. Hopefully his role brings the viewers to understand the reality of people who may share the same disorder as Geu-ru. Na-mu is the neighbour everyone would love to have. She is very loving and caring for Geu-ru and worries for him as if he is family. Speaking of family, Sang-gu is the uncle of Geu-ru and he is my favourite character in this drama. To witness his character development from the first to last episode was special. You could tell that as he spent more time with his nephew he grew a fond love for him. The story was very intriguing as majority of the episodes focused on the stories of the deceased and what led them to their demise. Each episode did it's part in revealing some lore upon our main characters and managed to connect everything together by the end. The genre of music used in this drama was classical, and the scenes in which they played the pieces eloquently matched the tone of the moment. This show delivers a unique storyline and contains a stellar cast, which in combination creates an impactful drama everyone should experience.

Business Proposal Review - ZyKuu

I loved this series, every episode is entertaining and light hearted. The story is pretty basic with no depth, but it is easy to follow. The cast was perfect, I believe that they carried the show even when the plot wasn't that strong. I found no weakness in any of the cast members as I believe everyone aced their roles. The show has a magnificent blueprint for any romantic comedies to follow. I loved the main lead Ha-ri, she is beautiful! Young-seo was a charismatic character that had her personal issues but she always made the right decision for her future. Tae-moo and Sung-hoon had a brotherly relationship that was wholesome to watch. Both romances displayed were unique and brought a different atmosphere to screen. Ha-ri's family and coworkers were perfect complimentary pieces to put around Ha-ri. Not only did they deliver in their roles but they enhanced the viewing experience, especially in the comedic department. Other than the cast, the OST was great, and I loved the realism portrayed in the story. Overall, I believe that this drama is a picture perfect romantic comedy, and I recommend this to anyone who loves these genres!

Bloodhounds Review - ZyKuu

A great action packed series that showcases the brotherhood between two boxers Gun-woo and Woo-jin. This drama outlines the two marines fight side by side to take on the loan sharks at Smile Capital. I enjoyed the bond and unity that Gun-woo and Woo-jin shared, even when faced with adversity they always fought together until the very end. The side cast was cool, my favourite being member being Mr. Choi. The story was easy to follow and lacked any plot holes, although it did feel as if some points of the plot were fast forwarded. The fighting scenes were choreographed very well, and the episodes did a wonderful job at ending right at the climax, wanting you to jump right into the next episode. One nitpick would be the character development, I felt as if the characters from the beginning did not really change in the end. Overall a good watch, I would recommend this as a great introductory series to anyone who enjoys action.

Nineteen Otters Review - ZyKuu

This drama special was a good watch, but nothing eye-opening. It examines the lives of two graduating high school students who spend time together and form a relationship. Both students being traumatized over their situations at home are able to relate and heal with each other. The acting was decent, mainly carried by the female lead Jae Young. I was not too fond over the performance of the rest of the cast especially the male lead Woo Kyu. Although the story did not feel consistent throughout, it labels many issues households may face whilst teaching valuable life lessons. There are gems of advice taught in this episode and you would not regret watching it!

Twenty-Five Twenty-One Review - ZyKuu

A good drama that explores the fencing career of the main lead Hee-do and the relationships she develops on the way. The main lead Hee-do did a great job in her role. Yi-jin played his given role to a tee. The romance between Hee-do and Yi-jin was endearing and later on becomes complicated, demonstrating the harsh realities couples may face. The sidecast was the standout for me. Ji-Woong was the comedic relief of the drama. I enjoyed the dynamic Yu-rim and her family had. I found the relationship between Ji-Woong and Seung-wan heartwarming and innocent. Seung-wan was a character that I did not expect to grow on me as much as she did, but her actions led me to admire her. The OST was amazing! The story was well written and accurately depicted the tragedies that the world suffered between 1998 and 2001. Through the lives of the cast, we were able to gain knowledge upon the realities that people may have experiencing during these hard times. This drama was excellent at creating emotional moments as there were a couple touching scenes that brought tears to my eyes. Unfortunately, the ending of the drama was underwhelming. Overall this is a great intro drama that I recommend for new viewers.

Queen of Tears Review - ZyKuu

A beautiful show that portrays a couple experiencing a marital crisis, and through time together rekindle the love they once had for one another. This show does start off slow, so you will need to be patient. The story contains many plot twists that are unpredictable but there are moments where the plot seems overplayed. Luckily, both leads Hae-in and Hyun-woo demonstrated stellar chemistry and their acting ability carried the show at times. There were many scenes where the two were emotional towards each other and you could feel the intensity as a viewer. Their acting was so powerful that I became teary eyed at times. Eun-seong was one of the greatest villains I ever witnessed in my short watch of K-dramas as I genuinely hated his character throughout the series. The side cast was amazing and the OST was perfectly selected to fit the mood and genre of this series. The romance was executed perfectly and the scenes in Germany were beautifully captured. This show makes me look forward to getting married one day!

Twinkling Watermelon Review - ZyKuu

Essentially a perfect show. The plot was unique and unpredictable. I loved the origin story between Yi-chan and Chung-ah. Watching how their first interaction blossoms into a romance is heartwarming. The relationship between Eun-gyeol and On Eun-yoo is entertaining, and their chemistry was on point. There were two character dynamics that stood out to me. One being between Eun-gyeol and Chung-ah, they shared many scenes that were impactful but there was one powerful scene in particular that brought me to tears. The second being between Yi-chan and his grandmother who had such a loveable relationship, and there was one scene specifically that had me crying. Chung-ah was undoubtedly my favourite character in the show as she was absolutely flawless and played her role perfectly! This show has even sparked my curiosity to learn sign language! Beautiful show nonetheless.

Lovely Runner Review - ZyKuu

Masterpiece. Im Sol and Sun-jae perfectly played their roles, I loved the relationship and chemistry both leads had. The supporting cast was phenomenal especially Tae-sung and In-hyuk. Plot was excellent and there was a unique display in regards to the concept of time travelling. This series drew out a variety of emotions from me as I started tearing up at both the saddening and heartwarming moments, and began laughing out loud during the comedy scenes. The romance in this series was nothing short of perfection. The Soundtrack is Incredible. Not only did this work of art entertain me, but it gave me hope, and I am genuinely sad that it is over :(

Weak Hero Class 1 Review - ZyKuu

A unique drama about school violence. Follows the story of an introvert named Si-eun. I loved his acting I believe it was played to a tee. I also really enjoyed the performances by Soo-ho, Bum- seok, and Seok-dae. I found the rest of the cast pretty mediocre. The storyline was interesting in the first half but was slowly losing me in the second half. My favourite fight scene came from the second episode. Action was engaging and suspenseful. This series was very easy to binge through given that each episode is between 35-40 minutes. Overall a good show, i'm glad I gave it a shot!
