Heartwarming and Funny

Watched this show with little background and no expectations, only that one of my favourite C-actor BJT had a special guest role.

Glad that I did, love our 2 ladies Xiao Jiang and Wu Ayi, they had a heartwarming relationship, the progress and dynamics made sense and were precious to see and experience with them. The acting for all characters seemed natural and grounded. I really loved Xiao Jiang's dad.

Of course the story could have been better i.e. more tightly written with some plot lines reduced/removed and others expanded and shown more closure.

Nonetheless, I had a great time watching this and it will definitely be my comfort rewatch.

Didn't expect to enjoy this drama as much a I did but yes, it was thoroughly enjoyable and the pulled me in from the start. Watched it while it was airing and watching it again now as there were some pieces I missed out and did not get at the first watch - the bane of being a non-chinese speaker and having to rely on subtitles. Sometimes you're concentrating so much on subtitles, you miss the scenes and the acting !

I started my watched of course because of BJT, but the story, set, cinematography and the whole cast - everyone of them no matter how small their role made the story bigger and better as whole.

Loved the relationships, the progress and unfolding of cases (though 1 in particular could have been done much, much better), the character development and how things were tied up at the end. Would have loved a happier ending for 2 characters in particular but I guess a drama isn't a drama if everything is too fine and dandy. I don't mind though honestly haha.
