I'm really enjoying this drama so far. Though I started watching this drama for a love story, I'm really enjoying all the intrigues and warring going on right now. And though there seems to be separation ahead for the main couple (at least temporarily) I'm not as bugged as I would usually be. I'm a bit concerned about the character of the A-Ling princess...I don't want her to turn into the classic Evil Rival...but even if she does, I'm cautiously hopeful that this drama will continue to interest me. A big part of that is Quin Chen's character. I love how capable and proactive she is, instead of playing a passive "damsel in distress"/ "flower in need of protection" role,as I was really scared she would by the tone of the first few episodes. But the big reset seems to have really matured her character (I guess rearranging space and time can do that to you, lol) and I'm looking forward to how she's going to handle her opponents in order to keep her prince safe.

our two leads finally end up on the same side as the case reveals ties to a long ago tragedy. Conspiracies are hinted at and motivations are revealed. The first quarter of the episode had me at the edge of my seat. It was a bittersweet yet satisfying conclusion to the first case. BUT , then the mood of the episode takes a complete U turn. A host of fresh characters are revealed and there are some lighter scenes...which would have been great, except it DOES NOT in any way match the mood of the first first quarter. It's like a significant chunk was taken out in the middle (censorship?) causing the story to feel too abrupt. But still highly watchable, especially with the hints into the origins and backstories of both MLs.

one of the main appeals of this drama is the tried-but -tested drama trope of mythical/divine beings living amidst us. And this episode had several gems of this kind: in addition to an adorable-as-always lee hong gi as the popstar/idol PK, there were the KaoKao group chat and Oh Gong's cute dismay at being the only one not invited. I like that this episode revealed a hint of the Sam Jang (?)'s ultimate mission, along with a tentative alliance being built between the main couple. Lee Seung Gi is perfectly comfortable in the role of the self-centered but lovable Oh Gong (a character very similar to those he's played in the past) and looks oh so sexy in his post-military service buffness.

In this episode our team embarks on what is supposedly a relaxing picnic only to encounter a seemingly haunted tower in a mysterious Buddhist temple. A rumored treasure map from the last dynasty brings out both thieves and murderers as Samo, Li Zhi and gang try to solve the mystery of the tower. I have to say I enjoyed this episode a lot more than the previous two, though that could be because my expectations were a lot less this time around. When the drama synopsis promised "the X-files of the Tang dynasty" I was hoping for something a lot more gothic and atmospheric. So the candy colors and rather juvenile humor of the first two episodes really grated.
the colors continue to be just as bright, and the mood light-hearted in this episode. But I've gotten used to it, and the last few minutes seem to hint at darker conspiracies ahead. As of now, I'm prepared to continue with the series. I started it because of Xu Joe (I really liked his portrayal of the tragic Prince Zhan in Love lost in time) and despite that horrible hair, he manages to hold my attention.

right now, the character that I find most intriguing is Feng Tang aka Big Boss. He's not the typical rich guy lead. Yes he's an extremely capable businessman but as of now at least he seems adorable clueless when it comes to love/wooing the girl

A slow but sweet start to the story...I'm cautiously interested in the story. I just hope the heroine doesn't turn into a totally clueless klutz....I like sweet and naive, but it'll be nice if she's capable as well.

My Amazing Boyfriend Episode 1

I'm beginning to feel that my reaction to a drama is significantly affected by my mood of the time. In this case, I had just finished watching "When a snail falls in love" while re-watching the K2. As a result I was ready for something different. What I was wanted was something cute, fluffy and fun and this first episode delivers it in spades.
Now, I've noticed that cdramas (maybe I'm typecasting, I've watched very few) tend to favor a sort of coldly perfect heros. My usual preference is for someone a bit more adorky (think JCK in Suspicious Partner or Hyungsik in Strong Woman Dong Bong Soon) but like I said, I was ready for a change.
I also am not a fan of the female main lead having to go through a whole lot of cringe-worthy situations just so that the drama can stress how she can't just catch a break. But somehow Wu Janice manages to pull it off is such a way that we wryly sympathize with Tian Jing instead of cringing deeply.
Another thing that attracts me to this drama is TJ's mom and dad....mom especially is a very different breed to asian drama moms I've met so far, and can I say I'm loving it? I also like the two ex-boyfriends, especially no. 7.
All in all, I found myself giggling thorough the episode and cautiously optimistic about the drama. I'm also happy that it's much shorter than other cdramas I've started, 28 episodes is so much more manageable than 50+

I've been wanting to watch this drama for quite some time. I did start it several times but couldn't get past the first few minutes, which were darker than I'm used to (at least from an Asian drama, the ones I watched so far tend to limit the amount of violence on screen, which I really appreciate). But I was finally able to get past that sequence and found the rest of the episode to be quite enjoyable.
I love the way the jenny(?)'s time at the mansion is shown...intentional or not, there was very Beauty and the Beast feel to it. I almost expected to see some talking furniture... :)
Another reason I hesitated to start the show was because I was badly burned by the ending....without giving away any plot-lines, wtf was that ending all about? So I really don't want to invest in another couple only to have my pairing hopes dashed in the last 2 minutes of the last episode. Which is something Chinese dramas seem to excel at. I can only surmise that Chinese directors must be true sadists, and the audience masochists...nothing else can explain the consistent destruction of the OTP pairings time and again. Anyway fingers crossed that LMIYD will buck the trend and give me the satisfying ending I desperately crave
